Requests child support reduction

Berry files legal documents requesting the judge reduce her child support payments from $16,000 per month to just over $3,000 per month. Berry:

Aubry has stopped working and is content to live off of the child support, and that’s an abuse of the system. He is perfectly capable of getting a job … and by reducing the support it will allow 6-year-old Nahla to live a comfortable life … supplemented by his income.

X-Men: Days of Future Past

Berry plays Storm in X-Men: Days of Future Past. The X-Men fights a war for the survival of the species across two time periods. Co-starring Hugh Jackson, James McAvoy, and Patrick Stewart.

Storm probably won’t be as bad as she was going to be because we won’t be able to do any fighting or flying or things like that. She’ll be different than we originally planned her to be but I still think she’ll be an integral part of this new X-Men movie.

The Call

Film Appearance

Berry stars as Jordan, a 911 operator who takes a life-altering call from a teenage girl who has just been abducted. She realizes that she must confront a killer from her past in order to save the girl’s life. The film also stars Evie Thompson, Abigail Breslin and Morris Chestnut.

Being a mom I took away a greater sense of how I need to prepare my daughter as she goes, she’s only four now so she’s not trying to go anywhere by herself right now, but it made me realize that as she grows she is going to have to be more hyper vigilant. What this movie represents is real. It really happens, we hear about it on the news. And with this movie you really go on this journey from the point of the 911 operator, from the police, from the victim, from the crazy man that is at the helm of it. So you really get a visual on the horrific experience this is for all involved. And that really was an eye opener for me making this movie and what I need to teach my daughter, and how I move in the world as a woman too. It informed me too.

Berry, Aubry make peace

Aubry and Berry last night struck a deal to “move forward” from the dramatic Thanksgiving Day brawl between the model and Martinez. Aubry, wearing dark sunglasses to hide his ugly bruises, was back in Los Angeles family court, where high-powered lawyers for him and Berry — who did not attend the session — hammered out a truce. Berry lawyer Blair Berk and Gabriel attorney Shawn Holley emerged from a closed-door hearing and declared peace in a handwritten statement:

The parties have reached an amicable agreement. There will be no further statements regarding this matter.

A source told The New York Post that the “amicable agreement” refers to both the child-custody agreement and the Thanksgiving Day fight.

Police conclude Aubry was aggressor

TMZ reports that according to the police report, after interviewing Gabriel, Olivier Martinez and Halle, the investigating officer concluded, “Suspect [Aubry] arrived at victim’s [Martinez] residence for child custody exchange. Suspect and victim engaged in verbal altercation. Suspect became upset and attempted to punch victim’s head but missed and struck victim’s right shoulder instead. Victim returned with 3 punches to the suspect’s head, causing him to fall to the ground. Victim’s fiance [Berry] notified police.”

TMZ also notes that it is unlikely that criminal charges will be filed against Aubry.

Martinez and Aubry fight

Aubry and Martinez are both treated at a hospital for injuries after engaging in a physical altercation at Berry’s residence. Martinez performs a citizen’s arrest on Aubry, and was granted an emergency protective order preventing Aubry from coming within 100 yards of Berry, Martinez, and Nahla until November 27, 2012.

According to court filings by Aubry, Aubry says he took Nahla to Berry’s at around 10 AM. He says in a completely unusual move, Martinez came out of the front door — usually the nanny was the go-between. Aubry claims Martinez said, “We need to talk.” Aubry says he walked toward his car to close his door when Martinez jumped off the stairs and knocked Aubry to the ground and started brutally beating him, screaming that Aubry cost them $3 million to fight for custody of Nahla.

AUBRY: Mr. Martinez jumped on me on the side of my body, and punched me such that he had taken me down to the ground. He continued to punch me at least two or three times, kicked me in the ribs with his knee or foot, and took my head in his hands and slammed it to the concrete driveway. It all happened so suddenly, I did not see Mr. Martinez’s actions coming, and thus, I was not ready for it and was not able to defend myself.

As Martinez assaulted Aubry he screamed that they were going to move to Paris and Aubry had better move there too or Martinez would kill him. According to Aubry, Martinez said, “You’re going to Paris, you’re going to get your 20 grand a month in child support.”

Aubry claims Martinez then said, “We called the cops,” and that when they show up, “you’re going to tell them that you’re the one who attacked me, or I’m going to kill you.”

Reports suggest Aubrey suffered a broken rib in the brawl. Martinez had a swollen hand and bruised neck.

Aubry was booked on misdemeanor investigation of battery, and later released on $20,000 bail. He is scheduled to appear in court Dec 13.

Martinez taunts Aubry

According to Aubry, when Aubry takes Nahla to her school play Berry and Martinez show up. Martinez walks up to Aubry and whispers in his ear in French:

I wish I could beat the s**t out of you right now. You’re lucky we’re in a school right now. We’re going to take Nahla right now and you’re not going to follow us.

Halle Berry interview

Williams interviews Halle Berry and questions her about her rise to fame, new husband and family.

He wanted me to be a beauty queen so he said, I’m gonna put you in this thing and he did.  I showed up at the pageant and wore my prom dress that I had just worn to prom and miraculously I won it.  It put me on a journey that led me to meet my manager that I’ve known for 25 years that put me here to be able to sit here and talk to you. So it’s kind of like what our movie is about, things happen very poignant and defining things happen in our life and at the time we don’t know what this is going to mean.  It seemed so frivolous at the time, a beauty pageant winner, okay but it led to a lifetime relationship.

Berry files for custody of Nahla, wants to move to France for safety

Berry files a request in family court to move to France with her 4-year-old child, saying she feared for her life because two men who had threatened her were now at large.

Richard Franco had pled guilty to stalking Berry and was sentenced to 386 days in jail, but was given credit for 193 days already served and then released Feb 4, after amassing 193 days’ worth of credits for work and good behavior. He remains on five years’ probation and there’s a 10-year restraining order in place requiring him to stay away from Berry and her family.

This person (Franco) has invaded and trampled upon the most fundamental sense of security I have, and I am extremely frightened of him and what he might do to me and those I love.

Berry’s was also informed this week that that Robert Hoskins, a man who allegedly threatened to slit Berry’s throat—and who also allegedly threatened to slit Madonna’s throat and was shot by one of her bodyguards in 1995 — escaped from a mental institution last week.

Hoskins was sentenced to 10 years in prison in 1996 after Madonna testified that being in the same room with him made her “sick to her stomach.”

Nanny loses restraining order bid

A judge rejects Alliance Kamdem’s request for a restraining order. Kamden she feared retaliation by Aubry following the incident where Kamden alleged she was pushed into a doorway by Aubry. The judge called her petition “insufficient and speculative.”

The petition also lists other accounts of Aubrey’s behavior to the nanny, including another alleged incident in June in which she claims Gabriel violently pushed her out a door, and an incident in Spain where Aubry grabbed Nahla out of her arms.

She also said Aubry didn’t like her from the moment she began her duties as a nanny last June. She claims Gabriel said, “You are a spy,” and “Nahla doesn’t like you, she doesn’t want you here.”

Aubry investigated for Child Endangerment (Nanny Incident)

According to a police report obtained by TMZ, Aubry allegedly pushed his nanny into a door while she held his daughter Nahla in her arms.

Aubry was supposed to take 3-year-old Nahla to school Wednesday but decided to keep her home instead. The nanny — who worked for both Aubry and Berry — went to the school to pick Nahla up and was told the child had not arrived. The nanny then went to Aubry’s home, where she found Nahla and began to question Aubry as to why he didn’t take the child to school.

Aubry allegedly flew into a rage — claiming, “You’re the f**king nanny. Who do you think you are? You are a nobody. You don’t need to f**king know anything.” Aubrey then allegedly pushed the nanny out the door while Nahla was in her arms.

Law enforcement sources tell TMZ that police are investigating Gabriel for both misdemeanor child endangerment and misdemeanor battery.

X-Men: The Last Stand

Berry plays Storm in another X-Men, The Last Stand movie co-starring Hugh Jackman, Ian McKellen, Anna Paquin, and Kelsey Grammar. The plot revolves around a mutant cure that causes serious repercussions among mutants and humans, and on the resurrection of Jean Grey.

Well I think I felt a great responsibility to myself to have Storm evolve. The day after the second movie opened, I remember I ran into some fans and they practically accosted me on the street and were angry that Storm didn’t step up and she’d somehow diddled into the background.

Berry plays Catwoman alongside Benjamin Bratt, Sharron Stone and Lambert Wilson. Berry is a hyper-sexualized thief with the abilities of a Cat. She uses her newfound life, aggression, and powers to take down the firm and seek revenge.

Because this movie is about women. It’s for women essentially, you know? It’s about a woman finding her sense of self, her inner strength, her power, becoming okay with her sexuality. I think every woman, deep down, would love to feel the way Catwoman gets to feel in this movie. I think we are always searching to be our true, authentic selves and not make excuses or apologies for that and Catwoman does not.

Introducing Dorothy Dandridge Award

Berry wins the award for best performance by an actress in a mini-series or motion picture made for television for her role in Introducing Dorothy Dandridge at the 57th Annual Golden Globe Awards.

That was the first time I had ever been nominated for an award like that. And playing her life, there were so many opportunities she was not afforded. A lot of it had to do with the state of racial relations in the country at the time. And the other 50% was her own masochistic personality that led to her own downfall, you know? I felt very much when I was up there, that I was sort of up there for her. For all the things that didn’t come her way, that in that moment I felt that it was really about her too. Because I was winning for telling her story, I felt very much like it was her moment.
