Songs About Jane

Maroon 5 releases their debut album titled Songs About Jane. The 12 track record features singles This Love, Harder To Breathe and She Will Be Loved. The record becomes successful in 2004 when it reaches the Top 20 of the Billboard 200. Levine says most of the songs on the album are actually about a girl named Jane. The band worked with Octone and J Records to release the album.

I think pain is the best feeling for song writing. You can write good happy songs, but I think the kind of bruiting, depressing ones are more effective. They are easier to write when I am impassioned and angry. It is a good way to channel that negative energy.
