Calvin Harris interview
Seacrest interviews Harris during On Air With Ryan Seacrest and questions him about how he feels writing songs for other artist.
I had two albums out before this last one I used to sing every single song and it wasn’t until maybe three, four years ago where I wanted to write songs for other people, like I wrote the Rihanna We Found Love song. And since then, I realized maybe I can use other people’s voices who are much better singers than me. And if I have a song that I think suits my voice or I don’t see anyone else singing it, I’ll just do it myself. I think the majority of people still don’t know it’s me who sings, which is completely fine. I’m good just being the producer guy.
Zedd interview
Seacrest interviews Zedd during On Air With Ryan Seacrest and questions him about performing at the Wango Tango festival.
I’m psyched to be a part of it. And I’m psyched to experience it myself. It [Coachella] was great. It was amazing. I played Coachella two years ago and I played really early on that strong and I really loved the vibe, but you know it was really bright outside and it was super hot.
Katie Couric interview
Seacrest interviews Couric during On Air With Ryan Seacrest about her book The Best Advice I Ever Got: Lessons from Extraordinary Lives.
About 116 people contributed to this book. This should be heartening for a lot of people, because I think one of the most prevalent things is how many of these people have failed. So much of success is about being able to pick yourself up and be resilient.
Joel McHale interview
Seacrest interviews McHale during On Air With Ryan Seacrest about playing Ryan Seacrest on Community.
I did get to play you two weeks ago on Community. I did not write that, but believe me I wish that I had. I turned into a Seacrest Hulk. I became the best looking person in the world in my mind, and there was a reaction to drugs and spray tan. I was at a bar mitzvah impersonating you with a bunch of celebrity impersonators, and I was doing you and then it was like a fake Oscars at a bar mitz and I did not win “Most Handsome” and so I went crazy and started beating up 13 year-old-boys. It’s ripped from the headlines.
Tori Spelling interview
Seacrest interviews Spelling during On Air With Ryan Seacrest about her children.
My two oldest [children] are 15 months apart, and that was great. That was unexpected too, because I got pregnant when Liam was six months [old] but it ended up being amazing because it becomes an instant play date when they get older. So it’s great.
Gavin DeGraw interview
Seacrest interviews DeGraw during On Air With Ryan Seacret about Dancing With The Stars contestant Donald Driver.
Donald Driver’s new nickname is 2%. I think that Donald should get a milk commercial. He could be the new face of 2% milk, because his body fat percentage is 2%.
Jason Derulo interview
Seacrest interviews Derulo during On Air With Ryan Seacrest and questions him about his album Talk Dirty.
This album has a lot of dimensions. The Other Side and Marry Me was one side. But when I was making this album, I wasn’t thinking about making hit songs it was just about getting myself out of the darkness. It came from an honest place. I feel like it’s me.
Simon Cowell interview
Seacrest interviews Cowell during On Air With Ryan Seacrest about Britney Spears possibly being a judge on American Idol.
If it was my decision, 100% if we could get her. We’ll have to find out very soon if we’ve spoken to her. Don’t forget there are a lot of names that have been bandied around, some true, some false. But we’ve said to everyone we’ve spoken to, we’ve got to keep quiet about it. You got to wait until people sign up, but we’re very, very close.
Kris Jenner interview
Seacrest interviews Jenner during On Air With Ryan Seacrest about Kim and Kanye.
First of all, he’s [Kanye] been a friend of the family for so long, and the two of them are, you know, they do their own thing, they have their own friendship and relationship. So I love them both, and I just stop trying to make judgments on who they go out with, or my comments or advice that I love to give and pass out unsolicited, because I always get myself into trouble with the dating thing. So but when I heard it I thought ‘Okay. Oh wait, what’s going on? What? What?’ Sometimes I’m just like everybody else. Sometimes I’m the last to know.
Ed Sheeran interview
Seacrest interviews Sheeran during On Air With Ryan Seacrest and questions him about his inspiration for the single Sing.
I feel like I was veering off in one direction with that song to kind of make it a very R&B song. I wanted to pull it back and make it English, which is why I put the rap in it. [Sing is about] Someone I met in Vegas. It was last summer. We went out for food afterwards sushi.
Conan O’Brien interview
Seacrest interviews O’Brien during On Air With Ryan Seacrest and questions him about the possibility of him replacing David Letterman on The Late Show.
I think people are thinking about it the wrong way. Right now, we have a glut of people more or less my age or a few years younger than me hosting shows. I think if CBS was smart, they’d counter-program. They would go with really, really old or really, really young. So I’m suggesting either Larry King or Beyonce‘s baby, Blue Ivy so I think they’re barking up the wrong tree with me or anyone like me.
Anne Hathaway interview
Seacrest interviews Hathaway during On Air With Ryan Seacrest and questions her about her role in the film Rio 2.
The movie is wonderful it’s better than the first one and it truly, truly is a lovely wonderful film that parents and kids can enjoy.
Steven Tyler, Joe Perry interview
Seacrest interviews Tyler and Perry during On Air With Ryan Seacrest and questions them on their exercise routine for their tour. Tyler:
Actually we don’t hit our stride until the third week but the third week on tour, I’m 15 again. Now, I’m 12.
Perry:
No matter what you do beforehand, there’s nothing like going onstage. You always feel like you’ve been run over by a truck the next day, no matter what. I’ve tried it both ways: I’ll get in shape on tour or I’ll work out for a month [before]. I’ll tell you, it’s very athletic.
Ryan Tedder interview
Seacrest interviews Tedder during On Air With Ryan Seacrest. Seacrest questions Tedder about how he decides which songs to save for his band and which songs to give to other artist.
I’ve never really had too much of an issue doing it because when I switch into writing for OneRepublic, it’s a bit Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde. I literally go to a different part of my brain. When I’m writing for OneRepublic, it’s 100% personal and it’s me writing for us and when I’m writing for someone else, it almost feels like a game.
John Legend interview
Seacrest interviews Legend during On Air With Ryan Seacrest and questions him about his single All Of Me.
I wrote it a couple years ago and then when I came home I said, ‘I wrote a really good song baby I think you’re going to love it.’ And I sang it to her and she started crying, so I knew it would be a special song and then I sang it at our wedding and a lot of people have been using it at their weddings.
Betty Who interview
Seacrest interviews Betty Who during On Air With Ryan Seacrest and questions her about who Beyonce is her musical inspiration.
She is just one of my biggest inspirations. She’s the Michael Jackson of our generation. Whenever I’m having a bad day, I always watch Beyonce documentaries and her live performances, and it gets me going.
Mindy Kaling interview
Seacrest interviews Kaling during On Air With Ryan Seacrest and questions her about the return of her show The Mindy Project.
We’ve been off the air for two months, making our fans sort of wait, but luckily we have two back-to-back episodes and we start right off with the kiss and honestly these last eight episodes of the season are so full of secrets, sex, and lies I’ve been dying for the show to return.
Christina Perri interview
Seacrest interviews Perri during On Air With Ryan Seacrest and questions her about her single By My Forever, collaboration with Ed Sheeran.
I remember thinking, ‘Well this certainly will not be my song because I’ve never written anything that happy before. But in fact, I fell in love with it and I wrote a guy part who also doesn’t sing super happy songs Mr. Ed Sheeran.
Lady Gaga interview
Seacrest interviews Gaga during On Air With Ryan Seacrest and asks her which song she is most excited to play during her tour artRAVE: The ARTPOP Ball.
I’m excited to play basically the entire album, but I really love Venus from ARTPOP. It’s the one I produced myself and during the show we turn the entire stage in to the planet Venus.
Karmin interview
Seacrest interviews Karmin during On Air With Ryan Seacrest and questions them about their album Pulse.
Pulses was written and inspired by the ups and downs we were professionally and personally going through over the last year. So we hope you love it as much as we do and we hope you come see us on perform live on tour starting April 6.
