Break for solo work
One Direction plan an extended break as the members work separately on different projects. One Direction will promote their latest album until February and released the official music video of their single, Drag Me Down before their extended break.
They are taking a hiatus so they can work on individual projects for a while but they are not splitting up
Expecting baby
Tomlinson announces that he is expecting a baby early next year to Jungwirth. According to friends, Tomlinson has vowed to be at Jungwirth’s side and to be a “hands-on dad” when the baby arrives early next year. Source:
Louis is happy and very excited about becoming a dad and he thinks Briana will be an amazing mother. It was a surprise at first, but he and Briana are very, very close friends and this has brought them even closer.

Advices One Direction fans
Hawkins advises One Direction fans who are distraught due to Malik leaving the band during his talk at Sydney Opera House.
My advice to any heartbroken young girl is to pay close attention to the study of theoretical physics. Because one day there may well be proof of multiple universes…It would not be beyond the realms of possibility that somewhere outside of our own universe lies another different universe and in that universe, Zayn is still in One Direction.
Thanks bandmates
Malik thanks his One Direction bandmates at Asian Awards in London.
I’d like to thank my mum and dad, and I’d also like to take this moment to thank four of the best guys I’ve ever met, everything I’ve done with them will stay with me for the rest of my life.
Leaves band
One Direction announce that Malik has left the band:
After five incredible years Zayn Malik has decided to leave One Direction. Niall, Harry, Liam and Louis will continue as a four-piece and look forward to the forthcoming concerts of their world tour and recording their fifth album, due to be released later this year. We’re really sad to see Zayn go, but we totally respect his decision and send him all our love for the future. The past five years have been beyond amazing, we’ve gone through so much together, so we will always be friends. The four of us will now continue. We’re looking forward to recording the new album and seeing all the fans on the next stage of the world tour.
Malik:
My life with One Direction has been more than I could ever have imagined. But, after five years, I feel like it is now the right time for me to leave the band. I’d like to apologise to the fans if I’ve let anyone down, but I have to do what feels right in my heart. I am leaving because I want to be a normal 22-year-old who is able to relax and have some private time out of the spotlight. I know I have four friends for life in Louis, Liam, Harry and Niall. I know they will continue to be the best band in the world.
Cowell:
I would like to say thank you to Zayn for everything he has done for One Direction. Since I first met Zayn in 2010, I have grown very, very fond – and immensely proud – of him. I have seen him grow in confidence and I am truly sorry to see him leave. As for One Direction, fans can rest assured that Niall, Liam, Harry and Louis are hugely excited about the future of the band.
Pays marijuana bond
0 CommentsThe Philippines Bureau of Immigration says that a bond has been imposed because of drug concerns, allowing the band to play two concerts this weekend. The band paid $4,500 each for singers Zayne Malik and Louis Tomlinson, which will be forfeited should the two get caught using or promoting illegal drugs.
The condition is intended to protect the public interest should the band members commit any violation during their stay in the Philippines.
Quits world tour
The band says Malik quit the tour due to stress. He is to return home to Britain as the rest of the band go on to play shows from the Philippines to South Africa, through Europe and the United States.
Zayn has been signed off with stress and is flying back to the UK to recuperate. The band wish him well and will continue with their performances in the Philippines and Indonesia.
Gay comment
Tomlinson is videotaped in a hotel in Australia in a fan video. There is some confusion between fans as to whether he is saying:
I’m gay, it’s pretty unfortunate.
or
It’s pretty unfortunate.

As an impromptu tribute to Swedish fans, the group performs a rendition of ABBA’s Mamma Mia. Harry starts the song confidently, then begins to mumble before Liam takes over. The group does not know most of the words, however the crowd supports them by singing along.
