Yes. I started off working with Prince a while back and ever since then I’ve had a passion inside for music and I really wanted to get back into it. Everyday is different, it’s a roller coaster of emotion. They’re talking and that’s good enough for me. That’s the best I can hope for right now. But I still hope they’ll get back together. My hope is that they wake up from this a couple years down the road and say, “Hey, let’s get the band back together.” So to speak and, “Let’s rekindle the magic. What we had was so special.” I don’t know, it’s tough to stay together in Hollywood.

Actually, my mother’s house was pretty decimated. She lives on a river in Point Pleasant, New Jersey, right where that hurricane had hit the coast. We had a couple feet of water in the living room and in the bottom floor of the whole house. So, mom will be living out with me here in California for a little while.

I first had a conversation with her because in the beginning it was all, “Okay, this character is definitely based off Taylor Swift.” And I did all this press saying, “No, no, no the character’s not.” And of course, the headlines read “Hayden Says I Am Not Taylor Swift!” So, I ran up to her and I was like, “I hope you don’t take it personally or take offense to it, this is not what I meant.” And she was like, “No, absolutely not.” Then she watched the show. She came up and she was raving about it to me, which was very flattering.

We got really lucky and I’ve been wanting to send Reese Witherspoon flowers for like a month and a half now. Because she actually gave birth the day before us in Santa Monica and we were lucky enough to go in at like 2:30 in the morning to the hospital and nobody knew. We got home and thought, ‘this is unbelievable.’ Because we weren’t expecting to be able to get away with it. We were expecting all the guys to be in the hallways, in the parking structure, and all that stuff. So, we just figured we would go with it as long as we could.
