Israeli strike kills four children
Four Palestinian boys from the same family are killed by an Israeli strike on Gaza while playing soccer on the beach with journalists. Three other children were injured in the strike. Abu Hassera tells Reuters:

Rugby World Cup promo video
In a promotional video directed by Peter Cattaneo, Dance gives a nearly three-minute pep talk to his country’s national rugby team for the World Cup that is to be held next year in England. Also featured in clip are current and former Rugby stars, most notably from South Africa, Australia and France.

Rejects ice bucket challenge
President Obama rejects the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge after Ethel Kennedy, a member of the Kennedy political family, nominates him. White House spokesman Eric Schultz:
The President appreciates Mrs. Kennedy thinking of him for the challenge — though his contribution to this effort will be monetary. The President will be making a donation to an ALS charity this week.

Games of Thrones season five cameo
Dance reveals he will make a brief appearance as Tywin Lannister in the fifth season of Game of Thrones. Since Tywin died in the Season 4, Dance will appear only as Tywin’s dead body on display.
There’s talk of eventually trying to do a feature film, but I don’t know which of the storylines. There’s so much to cram into a film.
London Masterclass
Miller gives a masterclass in London, and 500 students learn an audition routine. Sixteen year old Lucy Sharpe from Penarth is hand picked by Miller as the best dancer during mock auditions. Performing Arts Academy Wales principal Vicky Russell:
Abby handpicked Lucy, who was incredible, I was so proud of her. The standard was phenomenal and there were so many people there, you had to really stand out to even be notice.
Holds auditions for Season 4
As season four of Dance Moms approaches, Miller goes to Atlanta to hold auditions to find her next big dancer. Hundreds of children showed up for the casting call.

Upton is crowned model of the year by Christie Brinkley at the 10th Style Awards in New York. Brinkley says:

The Other Woman
In this romantic comedy film directed by Nick Cassavetes, Upton plays Amber – a young woman in a relationship with a married man named Mark – played by Nikolaj Coster-Waldau. Amber joins forces with the man’s wife, played by Cameron Diez, and another mistress, played by Leslie Mann, to get even with Mark after the three discover he is seeing them all simultaneously. On working with Diez and Mann:

Gets prom invitation
Upton receives a prom invitation from Jake Davidson, a Los Angeles senior high school student. Davidson after the student posted the invitation to the model on YouTube and the video went viral. Upton tweets in response:

Nude pictures in gallery
The model’s nude pictures will be displayed in an exhibit at The Cory Allen Contemporary Art Showroom in St. Petersburg, Fla. An artist known as XVALA is not displaying the photos themselves, but artwork created from the photos. The title of the exhibition is “No Delete”. Gallery owner Allen justifies use of the hacked photos:

Piers Morgan interview
Lohan and the British reporter meet for a 90-minute interview at a Manhattan townhouse. Lohan answers Morgan’s questions about her childhood and parents, her drug and alcohol use, and her intimate relationships with both men and women. On her mandated return to rehab in three weeks time:
I don’t think there’s anything wrong with people taking time to just be by themselves. I think people want to see me do that. They will keep saying the same things about me if I don’t. I don’t think it will be a bad thing for me to be away with myself for three months. I look at it as a good thing. I can come back afterwards and be fully focused on work. But I think there are other things I could do instead of going to a rehab centre that would benefit me more. The best thing they could do for me would be to make me go abroad to different countries and work with children.
White House Incident
While attending a White House black tie Correspondents’ Dinner, Lohan is discovered smoking in a bathroom by an attendant. The encounter causes Lohan to get emotional, and offer the Hispanic cleaner a hundred dollar bill, saying:
You’re too old to be doing this kind of work.
Bianca the cleaner initially refuses the gift, but after Lohan urges her to accept, she eventually acquiesces.

Four days after completing her sixth visit to rehab, Lohan speaks openly on the Oprah’s Next Chapter show about her past and present use of drugs and alcohol. When asked about her drug of choice:
Alcohol. That, in the past, was a gateway to other things for me… I tried cocaine with alcohol.
Ultimate Dance Competition judge
Rak will appear with long-time friend Miller and returning judge Richy Jackson for the second season of Abby’s Ultimate Dance Competition. On her judging method:
Abby has her way to tell them, and I have mine. You have to have balance … you have to give them hope. They don’t want to walk out the door and feel shattered; that’s not what it’s about. It’s about trying to inspire, to help them define their path. There is nothing worse for a child than the fear that someone will pound them and tell them ‘you’re horrible.’ That doesn’t work for me. That’s where Abby and I come from two different worlds. I respect the fact that she is a teacher and that’s how she works. [But] that’s not how I work.
Dancing with the Stars guest judge
Miller’s guest appearance on the show does not go over well with the other judges or the viewers. After professional dancer Maksim Chmerkovskiy remarks that Miller was not classy enough for the role, she responds:
I think he probably doesn’t know the real me and hasn’t done his homework on my credentials.
I don’t care what people think, really. I figure if celebrities and entertainers are taking about me, that’s a good thing. It’s when they stop talking about me is when I should worry.
