Calls Cosby a rapist

Makes Statement0 Comments

Buress calls Cosby a rapist during his comedy routine at his late night show at the Trocadero.

It’s even worse because Bill Cosby has the f-ckin’ smuggest old black man persona that I hate. He gets on TV, ‘Pull your pants up black people, I was on TV in the 80s! I can talk down to you because I had a successful sitcom!’ Yeah, but you rape women, Bill Cosby, so turn the crazy down a couple notches.

Accused of rape in op-ed

Accusation0 Comments

Cosby is accused of rape by Bowman in an op-ed article titled, Bill Cosby raped me. Why did it take 30 years for people to believe my story? in The Washington Post. In the article, Bowman says Cosby assaulted her several times in 1985.

Cosby won my trust as a 17-year-old aspiring actress in 1985, brainwashed me into viewing him as a father figure, and then assaulted me multiple times. In one case, I blacked out after having dinner and one glass of wine at his New York City brownstone, where he had offered to mentor me and discuss the entertainment industry. When I came to, I was in my panties and a man’s t-shirt, and Cosby was looming over me. I’m certain now that he drugged and raped me. But as a teenager, I tried to convince myself I had imagined it. I even tried to rationalize it: Bill Cosby was going to make me a star and this was part of the deal. The final incident was in Atlantic City, where we had traveled for an industry event. I was staying in a separate bedroom of Cosby’s hotel suite, but he pinned me down in his own bed while I screamed for help. I’ll never forget the clinking of his belt buckle as he struggled to pull his pants off. I furiously tried to wrestle from his grasp until he eventually gave up, angrily called me “a baby” and sent me home to Denver.

While I am grateful for the new attention to Cosby’s crimes, I must ask my own questions: Why wasn’t I believed? Why didn’t I get the same reaction of shock and revulsion when I originally reported it? Why was I, a victim of sexual assault, further wronged by victim blaming when I came forward? The women victimized by Bill Cosby have been talking about his crimes for more than a decade. Why didn’t our stories go viral?

Refuses to answer rape question

Interview1 Comments

Cosby refuses to answer questions regarding the accusations of sexual assault that have surfaced recently during an interview with Scott Simon of NPR. Simon:

This question gives me no pleasure, Mr. Cosby, but there have been serious allegations raised about you in recent days. You’re shaking your head no. I’m in the news business. I have to ask the question. Do you have any response to those charges? Shaking your head no. There are people who love you who might like to hear from you about this. I want to give you the chance.

Lawyer releases statement

Makes Statement0 Comments

Cosby’s lawyer, John P. Schmitt, releases a statement on Cosby’s website regarding the sexual assault allegations that have been leveled against Cosby.

Over the last several weeks, decade-old, discredited allegations against Mr. Cosby have resurfaced. The fact that they are being repeated does not make them true. Mr. Cosby does not intend to dignify these allegations with any comment. He would like to thank all his fans for the outpouring of support and assure them that, at age 77, he is doing his best work. There will be no further statement from Mr. Cosby or any of his representatives.

Alleges rape by Cosby

Accusation0 Comments

Cosby is accused of rape in an essay written by Joan Tarshis. In the essay, published in Hollywood Elsewhere, Tarshis alleges that Cosby drugged and sexually assaulted her in 1969.

I had heard and/or strongly suspected I was not the only white girl he had drugged and raped but I never had any proof. No one began talking until 2004. And though I knew I should say something, I still felt ashamed. Ashamed that I didn’t earlier. In any event now, as more and more of his rape victims have come forward, all telling similar stories, the time is right to join them.

Amends rape denial to exclude suit

Cosby amends his blanket denial of rape allegations  to clarify that Cosby’s denials do not refer to Constand, whose civil suit was settled in 2006. According to the new statement issued by lawyers for Cosby and Constand, differences between the two were ‘resolved to the mutual satisfaction’ of both parties. It adds that neither party intends to comment further.

Gives rape details

Interview0 Comments

Tarshis gives details of two situations where she alleges she was drugged and raped by Cosby to Philadelphia magazine. The first in 1969  (when she was 19) at Cosby’s dressing house, on the set of The Bill Cosby Show.

We went up to his cottage after they were done shooting. That’s when it happened. He offered me a drink. It was a red eye, a bloody mary topped off with beer. He always made the drinks; he didn’t have a bartender. And then next thing I know, I was being undressed on his couch. I was so out of it. But I remember saying to him — I thought I would outsmart him — I said, I have an infection down there, and if you have sex with me, you’re going to get it, and then your wife will know. So what did he do? He immediately switched to another orifice, which was worse.

Interviewer: So you were aware of what was happening the entire time?

Yes. He was holding me down. He’s much bigger than I am. He’s very big. I couldn’t resist. He was forceful. He definitely used force. There was nothing I could do except wait for it to be over. I was in shock.

Later, at the Westbury Music Theater in Long Island.

He picked me up in a limo. During the ride, I had something to drink in the car. I don’t remember what it was. I started to feel very woozy. Stoned.

I walked into the theater with him and the chauffeur, and we didn’t have any seats, so we were just standing backstage, and Cosby went into the dressing room. And after a while, I couldn’t stand up, I was so drugged. I asked the chauffeur to bring me back to the car. And I don’t remember anything else that happened until I woke up in the bed the following morning. Naked.

Tarshis says she did not report the incidents at the time because she did not want to upset her parents, and did not want to fight against powerful lawyers:

What could I say? I was 19 years old. I felt, He’s Bill Cosby. He’ll lawyer himself up. I don’t have a lawyer. It’s going to be he said, she said, and they’ll look at me like I’m crazy. Keep in mind that if I had come forward back then, I would have been the first one that would have said this. And God knows what his lawyers would do to me. My reputation would have been ruined. They would have said that I was there to seduce him. They would have turned the story around. And part of me was saying, hey, this guy knows a lot of big guys. Maybe they would find my body in a canyon in L.A. He became a scary guy to me.

‘He’s a serial rapist’

Makes Statement0 Comments

In an appearance with Don Lemon on CNN, Tarshis adds more details about her attempt to get Cosby to stop raping her by saying she had an infection.

I thought I was very clever in saying that, but he was more clever. And instead he made me have oral sex with him, which really was horrible. To me it was much much worse than if he had just raped me the normal way.

She also describes Cosby as a “serial rapist”.

He’s a serial rapist actually. When you rape at least 15 women then that’s a serial rapist in my opinion.

DA wanted to arrest Cosby

Castor, who was the DA of Montgomery County at the time that Andrea Constand claimed Cosby drugged her and sexually assaulted her at his Pennsylvania home in January 2004, tells The Daily Mail he wanted to arrest Cosby, but did not have enough evidence.

I wanted to arrest Bill Cosby because I thought he was probably guilty, but being able to prove anything beyond a reasonable doubt and thinking he’s probably guilty are two different things. We knew back then that other woman had come forward, but even if they did it didn’t mean anything for our case as none of those cases resulted in charges and were remote in time. The lady who was allegedly attacked waited a year before she reported it. As a result of that delay, any possible corroborating physical evidence was unavailable to us. We couldn’t test for hairs, fibers, DNA and drugs in her system that might match those at Mr Cosby’s house. We didn’t have any corroborative evidence.

Claims Cosby raped her

Accusation0 Comments

Dickinson claims that she was raped by Bill Cosby in 1982 in an interview with ET.  She says that Cosby invited her to dinner to discuss a role on The Cosby Show, offering her a glass of wine and a pill she thought was for her cramps. She says her last memory of the night was of Cosby taking off his robe and climbing on top of her, and that the next morning she remembers ‘a lot of pain.’

The next morning I woke up, and I wasn’t wearing my pajamas, and I remember before I passed out that I had been sexually assaulted by this man. I remember waking up with my pajamas off and there was semen in between my legs.

She claims that she had included details of the assault in her 2002 autobiography, No Lifeguard on Duty: The Accidental Life of the World’s First Supermodel, but that Cosby and his lawyer successfully pressured her and the publisher to remove the details.

I’m doing this because it’s the right thing to do, and it happened to me, and this is the true story. I believe all the other women. Stuffing feelings of rape and my unresolved issued with this incident has drove me into a life of trying to hurt myself because I didn’t have counsel and I was afraid. I was afraid of the consequences. I was afraid of being labeled a whore or a slut and trying to sleep my way to the top of a career that never took place.

‘Biting’ question

Interview0 Comments

Lemon asks Tarshis why she did not bite Cosby when he forced her to have oral sex.

Lemon: You know, there are ways not to perform oral sex if you didn’t want to do it
Tarshis: I was kind of stoned at the time and, quite honestly, that didn’t even enter my mind. Now I wish it would have.
Lemon: Meaning the using of the teeth as a weapon, right?
Tarshis: Yes, I didn’t even think of it.
Lemon: Biting
Tarshis: Ouch
Lemon: Yes. I had to ask.

‘Sexual predator’

Interview0 Comments

In an interview with The Daily Mail, Green says Cosby is a ‘sexual predator’ who, she claims, groomed her for sex and has attacked dozens more women in the past.

Bill Crosby is twisted, he’s a sexual predator who attacked me and has done the same to dozens of women that I know of. But he continues to refuse to acknowledge it, which is what angers me and the other women most. He should come clean and apologize for what he has done. To admit that the fame, the money and his own propaganda went to his head and he lost control.

She claims Cosby gave her two pills when she was sick with the flu, pretended he wanted to care for her, offered to take her home, and once there he stripped her naked, groped and kissed her before pleasuring himself sexually as she screamed for help.

I couldn’t control my body, I couldn’t walk, I couldn’t run, I couldn’t do anything. I picked up a table lamp off of my night stand and through it at the window. He was like, ‘Let’s take off your clothes and get you in to bed because you’re so sick and we need to take care of you, I’m helping you.’

He put me in bed and then started taking his clothes off, I was like ‘no, no, no’. He touched me up, kissed me and he was handling himself and I’m starting to scream.’

She says she was able to fight him off:

‘I’m fighting because even if you get away with it and you don’t kill me you will have me on your a** for the rest of your natural life, I told him at the time and that’s what has happened. I was making too much noise so he gets up and he leaves two $100 bills on my table next to my door as he was leaving and that was the final insult.
