I don’t think if we had romped through half of this movie completely naked it would have added to the film. It’s about the intimacy of marriage and the comfort and the mess of it. It felt like what we did was exactly right.

It was a different character for me. It’s a coming of age story for a young girl. She has this list and plans to enter life before her eighteenth birthday. I think it’s a cry for help, trying to be noticed and trying to find her place in the world.

I’ve had a lot of people tell me they watched Old Dogs with their kids and had a good time. It paid the bills. Sometimes you have to make a movie to make money. You know they’re going to make it goofy. And that’s OK.
