Shot in Dealey Plaza

Death0 Comments

1280px-MoormanThe President is assassinated as he rides in a motorcade through Dealey Plaza in downtown Dallas, Texas. Oswald fires three shots over  period of eight seconds from the Texas School Book Depository, about 90 yards from the motorcade. As the motorcade enters the Plaza, First Lady Connally says:

Mr. President, you can’t say Dallas doesn’t love you.

Kennedy’s last words are:

No, you certainly can’t

As Kennedy is waving to the crowds on his right with his right arm raised on the side of the limo, the first bullet enters his upper back, hitting a spinal vertebra in his neck and the top of his right lung, and exits his throat just beneath his larynx. He raises his elbows and clenches his fists in front of his face and leans forward. Mrs Kennedy, puts her arms around him. The first bullet then hits Governor Connally in his upper right back, just below his right armpit, passing thorough his body, breaking his right fifth rib, exits his chest just below his right nipple, creating a two-and-a-half inch chest wound, then enters his arm above his right wrist, shattering his right radius bone into eight pieces. The bullet exits the wrist and and lodges in his left inner thigh. He shouts:

Oh, no, no, no. My God. They’re going to kill us all!

His wife pulls him onto her lap, and the resulting posture helps close his front chest wound. The second shot to hit the president enters the rear of his head, creating created a large hole on the rear, right side. Mrs. Kennedy begins to climb out onto the back of the limousine, and returns to her seat, where the Connally’s hear her say:

They have killed my husband…I have his brains in my hand.

Special Agent Clint Hill jumps onto the car and the car heads to the Parkland Hospital.

I’m around 185. I think I am a good running back, but I’m really not that fast. There is only one thing I can do, that is throw a cross-body block. Picture perfect. I love it. Not that good at pass blocking.

After one hit:

I started to feel my legs and I said, ‘Oh, my God, I’m paralyzed.’ If I don’t try to move, I’ll never know if I’m paralyzed, so I stay there. My trainer says, ‘Ask him his name.’ Dumbest thing I ever heard. I said, ‘Rumpelstiltskin,’ and Coach said, ‘He’s all right!’ I got up and the field was tilting. Somebody tapped me and said, ‘You have to go off the field.’

On deciding to become a physical education teacher:

They put me in remedial everything at Temple University and I will tell you I was the happiest 23 year old in remedial everything. I was there and I now knew what I had to do.

While at school Cosby tends bar and tells jokes. He continues to wear a cherry-red Temple sweatshirt while working clubs in Philadelphia and New York.

It made me walk from the dressing room to the stage. There would be no fear — unless I put that fear in myself.
