Hale appears on the cover of the July 2014 issue of Flare magazine. She talks about country music, being on a reality show, and her dreams.

It’s very scary being open, being vulnerable, putting yourself out there at the risk of failing. The scariest part is working so, so hard for something and then it not paying off, but that almost doesn’t even matter to me anymore. Making the album was the best experience of my life.

Goulding appears on the cover of the July 2014 issue of Self magazine. She talks about suffering from panic attacks, dating Dougie Poynter, and being a singer.

I always liked singing, but it never occurred to me that it could be a real job. So when people would ask me what I wanted to be when I grew up, I’d say ‘I’m going to be an actress,’ in this fake posh accent that I’d learned from watching period dramas. I started playing guitar to impress a guy, but all of a sudden I was more engrossed in the guitar than the guy, and playing it became my everything. It was a big deal, because I started singing my own songs.

I loved being pregnant. Most people probably don’t like hearing that because some women have a terrible time, but I really liked it.

It’s very peaceful and the antithesis of the drive, the want, the need to get ahead indicative of life in Hollywood. I’m instantly reminded what quiet sounds like.

For a few hours it was literally like, “Oh, my God, was I awful? Why did they cut me? What are people going to think?” I woke up the next morning and I was like, “O.K., it makes total sense.” I’m a pretty spiritual person, so I can just sit back and trust that everything happens for a reason, even if my ego doesn’t like it.

I have really, really thick hair and it was extremely long. And then I thought about it and I was like, wow, this is so many years, and so many layers and so many lessons are in this hair and I am starting this new phase in my life as a woman in a way, and cutting my hair was a fun cleansing of like what could mean something new.

vrn2eimh789kmi7nKnightley appears on the cover of the July 2014 issue of Elle UK magazine. She talks about  how she is going to tell her future daughter to skip acting, her secret wedding dress, and meeting Karl Lagerfeld.

I didn’t know I was meeting him, and I was so jet-lagged I didn’t know what was going on. I was in jeans and had acne – you know the kind where nothing is going to cover it – so I put a hat on. I remember somebody making a [negative] comment about it and I just thought [whispers] ‘I’m wearing a hat because I’ve got acne.’

t7gmw4r5rr3xwmrtKendrick appears on the cover of the July 2014 issue of Elle magazine. She talks about her sex appeal and divorce.

I hate when people think you’re broken because your parents are divorced. And I really reject the idea of staying together for the kids. If they’re growing up in a house that’s not healthy, it’s better to know that’s not the model of what marriage should be.

Laurie discusses his newest CD, Didn’t It Rain, a collection of jazz and blues songs, in an interview with PBS.

Muddy Waters, I suppose, was my first great hero. You know, every boy wants to be a guitar player and Muddy Waters was just the king. He was the King Bee. He was it.

When we walk down the street, we see a huge variety of women, and that’s just not usually reflected in entertainment—and yet this show does that.
