McGregor “interested” in Musk-Zuckerberg fight, but would not train them

Makes Statement0 Comments

McGregor says he would be willing to “do a bit of work with” Musk or Zuckerberg prior to their cage match, but would not formally train either of them, because he is busy training for a bout of his own. He is “interested” in the fight, he says, and hopes they “go ahead with it.”

I’m interested. Are they gonna go ahead with it? Is it gonna happen? If it happens under the UFC banner, I’m with it. It has to happen under the UFC banner… I’d do a bit of work with them. I hope they go ahead with it. Their pockets might be large, but is the talk cheap? They said it. Are they gonna do it now? I’m excited to see how it unfolds.

McGregor: ‘I was in the wrong’

Apology0 Comments

McGregor speaks about his attack on an elderly drinker in a pub and  says watching video was ‘like a dagger to the heart’ and that he needs to make amends.

That man deserved to enjoy his time in the pub without having it end the way it did…I will face this head on. I will not hide from it. I was in the wrong. It was completely unacceptable behaviour for a man in my position…I owe it to the people who trained me in martial arts – and it is not the reason I got into martial arts …was to defend against that kind of scenario. I have been making steps to do better and be better to see it is like a dagger into my heart as a martial artist.

White confirms McGregor ‘will fight again’

Makes Statement0 Comments

White confirms that McGregor will fight again, despite his retirement announcement last month.

Conor McGregor will fight again…Me and Conor communicate every day. We’ve been talking all this week. Things are good with Conor and I and we’ll get something figured out soon…Conor likes to be in a position where he holds the cards and he does what he wants to do.

White remains optimistic on the prospect of a rematch with either Mayweather or Nurmagomedov.

Yeah, if Floyd wants to fight in the octagon, we’ll do it one hundred per cent. I think that that fight is a possibility some day in the octagon…And, obviously I think everybody would like to see the fight with him (McGregor) and Khabib again.

Denies claim he fathered woman’s daughter

Makes Statement0 Comments

McGregor denies Murray’s claims that one-year-old Clodagh was born nine months after she allegedly slept with him. Murray and McGregor met when he travelled to Liverpool for the 2017 Grand National – four weeks before his long-term partner Dee Devlin gave birth to their first child. Photos of McGregor and Murray, allegedly taken in the bathroom of his hotel suite, allegedly show his hand sliding under her black leather mini-skirt. McGregor posted a message denying he is the father, and claims she actually slept with one of his friends:

The results are in! It turns out we are actually horses. Giddy up ?

Coach Kavanagh thinking twice before working with McGregor again

Makes Statement0 Comments

Kavanagh admits he would need to be convinced to return to McGregor’s corner for particular fights going forward. He does not want to see McGregor risk himself unnecessarily in second-rate fights, now that he is entering the final stages of his professional MMA career.

He would certainly have to convince me to go again. I love him, I love the whole journey we’ve had but I’d need a good ‘why’. It might be [Nate] Diaz again because he promised that fight. It might be a rematch with Khabib. But if it was just: ‘Well, they want me to fight that guy’ I think I’d say, ‘I wish you the best. He has a wife and two kids now and I don’t want him taking more hits than he needs to. Khabib hit him with a punch in that fight that he has never been hit with in his career. And even Superman slows down at some stage.

Nurmagomedov, McGregor may reconcile

Makes Statement0 Comments

Nurmagomedov reveals he can imagine a reconciliation with McGregor, even after the bitter feud that marred their last title fight. Both men are waiting on a December 10 hearing with the Nevada State Athletic Commission to find out if their actions will result in any further sanctions, but Nurmagomedov insists that he and McGregor may not remain bitter enemies.

Everything is possible. Just as McGregor and I feuded, so we could reconcile…Who are we not to forgive one another when the Almighty forgives us?

Apologises for running out of whiskey

Apology0 Comments

McGregor apologises for running out of his Proper No.Twelve whiskey. The company say they have “sold more cases in less than one month than many whiskey brands sell in a full year”, claiming hundreds of thousands of bottles sold. McGregor says he is sorry for the worldwide shortage and is personally making sure the company is ramping up production.

I don’t usually see reason to apologise but in this case I want to take this chance to apologise to absolutely everyone for our out-of-stock situation. I was at the distillery last week and we have plans in place to be back in stock in Ireland and the United States in early December and onward. We are producing many hundreds of thousands of bottles now.

McGregor’s hopes of Nurmagomedov rematch dashed by UFC

Makes Statement0 Comments

UFC president White expects Nurmagomedov to face Ferguson when he returns, and not a rematch with McGregor. Both Nurmagomedov and McGregor will come before the Nevada State Athletic Commission on December 10 to discover whether they will be fined and banned for their post-fight brawls.

They’ve got to go before the NSAC which is scheduled for December and we’ll see what happens. Tony Ferguson is the right fight [for Nurmagomedov], he didn’t lose the belt in a fight so it’s the right fight. We’ll see how this whole thing plays out, it all depends on the suspensions.

McGregor’s faced a fair few snakes in UFC, so the celebrity jungle should be a breeze for the Irishman.

I don’t give a shit about any of that, we don’t like each other.’…You know he doesn’t like Khabib and the whole deal, but he didn’t press charges against him and the whole team. At the press conference following McGregor’s defeat by Nurmagomedov and the chaos that ensued, Nurmagomedov says Russian president Vladimir Putin called to congratulate him, and he apologises to the commission.

First of all I want to say sorry to the athletic commission and second to Vegas. This is my bad side…I’m human being. Nurmagomedov leaves press conference before McGregor shows up

Press Conference0 Comments

McGregor and Nurmagomedov appear separately at the final press conference in Las Vegas ahead of Saturday night’s fight. Nurmagomedov took the stage at the Park Theater at exactly 3pm for a scheduled news conference with McGregor and UFC president Dana White. Nurmagomedov:

It’s 3pm, this conference is beginning. I don’t need to wait for nobody…Fans is here, media is here, everybody is here… I don’t think about him. I have a schedule… I have to make weight. I have to worry about myself.

Nurmagomedov answered questions for 15 minutes before leaving. White stalled for 10 minutes before McGregor finally arrived to the theater at 3:25pm. He received a standing ovation from the crowd and handed White a bottle of his new signature whiskey. McGregor:

I did not plan this. I tried to get here. I’m only a couple minutes late… He doesn’t want to be around me. He is petrified…There will never be peace here. I always say you should aim for peace but if you can’t aim for peace, aim between the eyes. I’m gonna to aim right between that man’s eyes and this is never over. Never, ever, ever, over.

Talks Mayweather rematch – boxing or MMA

Makes Statement0 Comments

McGregor tells ESPN’s Ariel Helwani he will win this weekend by a “devastating KO” and then assess who he faces next from a long list of possible opponents, including a rematch with Mayweather, in either boxing or MMA.

If [Mayweather] has the bottle to come over and deal with this, like he said he has, let’s see what happens. I would also like to box him again. Everything is being discussed. Every rule set. If it’s not an MMA bout, then I don’t want to know. It’s either a straight MMA bout or a straight boxing bout. If they come looking for modified rules, I would rather just box the kid again. If you don’t want to deal with it, then don’t deal with it and stop going on like you’re doing.

‘I fell out of love with the game for a bit’

Interview0 Comments

With less than a week to go before McGregor’s big return to MMA against Nurmagomedov at UFC 229, McGregor talks about his displeasure with the UFC over how they stripped him of his belts:

I fell out of love with the game for a bit, went off on to my own thing… Had many things going on. Now I’m back. I’m hungry to compete…Making weight, handling the media obligations. And that’s it…I spent my entire life’s work to win those two UFC world titles…Then as soon as I win the second world title…the featherweight title was taken off of me and handed back to a man that I had a crazy history with….And then like, what, about a month, a month or two, the lightweight belt is stripped from me also…So these kind of things irritate me. Especially seeing what way it goes, who the belts are given to, who the people are that are challenging the belts… Many things irritate me in the game, and just watching it unfold, I just became more hungry to come back and show who the real king is.
