The Family Stone

Nelson plays Kelly Stone, the patriarch of the Stone family, in this dramedy directed by Thomas Bezucha. When the favorite son brings his uptight, corporate girlfriend home for the holidays, the Stones disapprove and conspire to make her feel unwelcome amid their free-spirited ways. Co-starring Diane Keaton, Sarah Jessica Parker, Dermot Mulroney, Rachel McAdams, Craig T. Nelson, Luke Wilson and Claire Danes.

Kelly’s an interesting guy in that he’s allowed the matriarch of this house, although he’s married to this very intelligent and wonderfully witty woman, to run the household up to a certain point. And then he kind of comes in when he needs to.

Wilson plays Ben Stone in this dramedy directed by Thomas Bezucha. Co-starring Diane Keaton, Sarah Jessica Parker, Dermot Mulroney, Rachel McAdams, Craig T. Nelson and Claire Danes.

For me, it was just one of those things where it was my character on the page—and then also the other characters. Where it seemed like it would be fun to be around those people. And I don’t know that there’s anything I don’t like about Ben, except that maybe he does seem kind of aimless.

Co-starring Diane Keaton, Sarah Jessica Parker, Rachel McAdams, Craig T. Nelson, Luke Wilson and Claire Danes.

I was thrilled to work with Luke, then I’d heard he’d got into the movie and I was afraid he was going to bail—you know—for some higher-priced part and drop out at the last minute.

Parker plays Meredith Morton, the invading girlfriend, in this dramedy directed by Thomas Bezucha. When the favorite son brings his uptight, corporate girlfriend home for the holidays, the Stones disapprove and conspire to make her feel unwelcome amid their free-spirited ways. Co-starring Diane Keaton, Dermot Mulroney, Rachel McAdams, Craig T. Nelson, Luke Wilson and Claire Danes.

I’ve never met anybody like Meredith, but it was also the fact that she was also this beautiful—I love the way that she was written, but larger piece was equally important. It’s fine to have a great part, but not so fine to have a great part in a mediocre script. This was a double whammy in a great way.

Keaton plays Sybil Stone, matriarch of the Stone family, in this dramedy directed by Thomas Bezucha. When the favorite son brings his uptight, corporate girlfriend home for the holidays, the Stones disapprove and conspire to make her feel unwelcome amid their free-spirited ways. Co-starring Sarah Jessica Parker, Dermot Mulroney, Rachel McAdams, Craig T. Nelson, Luke Wilson and Claire Danes.

It’s about love and loss and family and new love and babies. Then also having to say goodbye to someone that you adore, which is something that is part of all our lives. For me that is extremely touching, extremely worthy of investigation for all of us. Extremely sweet, funny and a great holiday idea.

Walk the Line

Phoenix plays country music singer legend Johnny Cash and focuses on the relationship he has with June Carter,  played by Reese Witherspoon.  The film is directed by James Mangold and co-stars Ginnifer Goodwin, Robert Patrick and Dallas Roberts.

He had such a rich, amazing life, but I mean, some of the obvious things, I remember reading in the script that he’s with Jerry Lee Lewis and he’s with Elvis, well that just sounds good for a movie, that’s just written in there. And then to discover that he really was touring with these guys, that was amazing to me. I had no idea. But I think also his love affair with June, that just seems fictional. It’s kind of a fairy tale romance and a love that kind of endured for more than a decade, was really surprising to me.

Zeta-Jones reprises her role as Elena in the action adventure The Legend of Zorro. Even though Alejandro de la Vega tries his best to keep his heroics to a minimum, he cannot deny the strange explosions near his home. Despite Elena’s anger, Alejandro must investigate what is happening and put the mask of Zorro back on. Co-starring Antonio Banderas.

I love this character so much and she’s been with me for nine years since we shot it. I just grew into her more being on this one. We pushed the envelope on the comedy and the action.

Pike plays the character Dr. Samantha Grimm in the sci fi-horror movie directed by Andrzej Bartkowiak and based on the id Software video game. Grimm creates a superhuman warrior to battle zombie creatures from Mars. Co-starring Karl Urban and Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson.

It was great because I’d also come off a film that was all female–Pride & Prejudice. The chance is be holed up with a bunch of marines was quite attractive.

It’s a great romantic story with very, very real people in it and it’s open to so many interpretations, like any great bit of literature.

Walker plays Jared Cole in 2005 action film Into the Blue. Jared is among a group of divers who find themselves in trouble with a drug lord after they accidentally find the illegal cargo of a sunken airplane.

At any given time working out there in Iceland we had 300 extras. It would be really stressful and super, super tedious for just about anybody, but what blew me away was just how calm and collected Clint Eastwood was every day.

Gordon-Levitt plays Dr. Don, a mob physician in this noir thriller by director Lee Daniels. He is summoned by contract killers Mikey and Rose, to assist crime boss Clayton, played by Stephen Dorff.Clayton’s wife after she gives birth. Cuba Gooding Jr. and Helen Mirren star as the assassin couple, and Mo’Nique plays Dr. Don’s girlfriend.

My favorite scene is the scene where you don’t know what’s going to happen yet, and I’m like, “if you don’t hear from me in an hour, you have to get out of town” and we might be saying good bye right now. That’s the one that really got me.

Duff stars in the romantic comedy The Perfect Man. Duff plays Holly, the daughter of Jean played by Heather Locklear. Jean moves her family to a different location every time her heart is broken by another man so Holly decided to create the perfect man for her mother just to stay in one place.

I loved the relationship between the mother and daughter, the love that they found and the romance. It has a lot of heart. I think it gives people faith out there and reminds them that fate is still out there, especially in this day and age, that nice things really do happen like that.

The ‘assassins’ thing is secondary to me. The movie to me plays so much more on the level of relationships. That was kind of the backdrop or the metaphor for getting lost in your work. But having said that, [Angelina Jolie’s] a damn good shot.

George has done an amazing job. He has great core values, and despite his money and success, he’s still in his jeans and sneakers everyday on set talking to everyone and is very down to earth.

Mysterious Skin

Gordon-Levitt stars in this drama film based on a novel by Scott Heim and directed by Gregg Araki. He plays Neil McCormick, a sexually abused teenager who grows up to be a fearless and promiscuous male prostitute. His dangerous path of risky sexual adventures eventually leads him to Brian Lackey, a young man who was molested by the same man that abused him. The actor’s co-stars include Brady Corbet, Michelle Trachtenberg, and Elisabeth Shue.

It is a really different role for me, and I’ll always be really grateful to Gregg for believing that I could do a role like this. I’ve played the nice kid, and the smart one or funny one and even the angry one, but Gregg was the first one to call me sexy, and I’ll always be really grateful for that. But what I think is really special about this character, he is sexy on the outside, but there’s underneath that he’s really having a lot of problems.

In this action thriller directed by Frank Miller and Robert Rodriguez, Willis plays John Hartigan, a retired cop, who is involved in graphically violent encounters with criminals and their victims. The movie is based on the graphic novel by Miller. Co-starring Mickey Rourke, Jaime King, Clive Owen, and Rosario Dawzon. Rodriguez:

He really is like the character. You read the character in the book, he’s like that. That’s why I thought of him. I thought, “This is Bruce Willis.” Bruce Willis is that laconic cop, the retiring cop, the knight in shining armor…I couldn’t think of anyone else to play him and he’s the first guy we went to, and Frank was just thrilled.

Constantine

LaBeouf co-stars in the fantasy-horror film, Constantine, a movie based on Vertigo Comic’s Hellblazer comic book.  The film portrays John Constantine, a cynic with the ability to communicate with half-angels and half-demons in their true form, who hopes to win favor back into Heaven.  LaBeouf plays Chas Kramer, the quirky sidekick to Constantine who hopes to learn a few tricks of the trade along the way.  The young actor describes what it was like playing Reeves’ sidekick:

Keanu’s great to perform with just because he’s so giving. What was cool was yes, my character looks up to him and I look up to him because he’s an American icon, so I got to pull a lot of that out of reality and put it into the film. It was a lot of fun to work on. Very easy.
