Bodhi posts update on Roberts’ hospitalization and recovery on Facebook.

UPDATE on Jake The Snake Roberts: Great news!… Docs took Jake off ventilator way earlier then expected! He is kicking ass on his spirometer breathing tests…If he keeps up this pace he will not need to go back on Ventilator so everyone please cross your fingers! Jake finally can speak for the first time since last Wed… Late last night (while still ventilated & unable to speak) one of the male nurses took a bandage off of Jake’s neck where they have tubes for his meds… It was so unpleasant to Jake he wrote on the pad they gave him three letters… DDT… Even though Jake is off of the ventilator for the time being he will be monitored for 24-48 hours before docs decide if it is safe to keep him off.

Double mastectomy

Jolie finds out out she is carrying the BRCA1 gene which gives her an 87% of contracting breast cancer. As a preventive measure she has a double mastectomy, reducing the chances of her getting the disease to less than 5%. She writes an op-ed in the New York Times about her experience:

I am fortunate to have a partner, Brad Pitt, who is so loving and supportive. So to anyone who has a wife or girlfriend going through this, know that you are a very important part of the transition. Brad was at the Pink Lotus Breast Center, where I was treated, for every minute of the surgeries. We managed to find moments to laugh together. We knew this was the right thing to do for our family and that it would bring us closer. And it has.

I can tell my children that they don’t need to fear they will lose me to breast cancer. It is reassuring that they see nothing that makes them uncomfortable. They can see my small scars and that’s it. Everything else is just Mommy, the same as she always was. And they know that I love them and will do anything to be with them as long as I can. On a personal note, I do not feel any less of a woman. I feel empowered that I made a strong choice that in no way diminishes my femininity.

The reconstructive surgery lasts through April. Jolie is also told she has a 50% of contracting ovarian cancer but will deal with that at a later time.

Paula claims Antwaun and Fantasia were having an affair the year prior. Dickens:

Fantasia believed Mr. Cook when he told her he was not happy in his marriage and his heart was not in it. She believed him when he told her he and Mrs. Cook separated in the late summer of 2009. She believed Mr. Cook when he told her he lived elsewhere. He even took her there. One of Mr. Cook’s most redeeming qualities was his complete devotion to his children. Part of Bijani team

Carson is one of the surgeons on the team that attempts the first separation of conjoined twins joined at the skull. Neither twin survives.

The women certainly understood the risks and were determined to proceed. I felt compelled to get involved to help give them their best chance at survival and separation, and I have no regrets over my decision. No act is a failure if you learn from it.

Carson heads team that separates seven-month-old twins joined at the back of the head in a 22-hour operation. This is the first time this type of surgery is successful and Carson is cautiously optimistic.

We did everything humanly possible to bring this off.. Right now, they are in stable but critical condition. The rest of it is up to God. It will be days before doctors will have any sense of whether either boy will recover and live a normal life.
