Happy Little Pill music video
Sivan releases a music video for Happy Little Pill. The video is written and directed by Koren.
Making this video perfectly represent the song and it’s message was super important to me, and I hope you guys connect with it as much as I do.
Chains
Jonas releases the first single off of his debut album as a solo artist. The song is given to Jonas by his label, Island Records:
So Chains I actually did not write. The way it worked was that I had about three or four songs ready for the record, so I sort of got the template of what I wanted it to sound like and then my new home Island Records said, “Hey we have this song that fits kind of with what you’ve been doing.” So I took it, made it my own a bit and immediately found a connection to it because I think for me it sort of took on a greater meaning of not letting things in your life hold you back from being exactly who you need to be and what’s important to you. So I connected with it in a major way.
Family wants studio release
Aaliya’s family is trying to halt Lifetime from making an Aaliyah biopic, saying that the outfit is too small to capture the scope of her life. They want a big studio to produce the film. The family is consulting with a lawyer to forfeit Lifetime from using any of Aaliyah’s music, photos and videos. Aaliyah’s cousin, Jomo Hankerson:
The problem that we have is that Aaliyah was an icon and she deserves an iconic tribute, not a Lifetime movie. They didn’t reach out. I don’t know why they didn’t reach out. We want a major studio release along the lines of What’s Love Got to Do with It, the Tina Turner movie. This needs A-list actors, A-list talent that can breathe life into what we think is a phenomenal story.

The song started with Jim’s bass. It has quite a good groove. It’s been one of our most successful singles. It’s had a lot of success overseas, particularly in Italy…It’s about finding hope through being in love with someone despite facing life’s difficulties.
Days Are Gone
The group releases their debut record, Days Are Gone. The record features 11 tracks that include the singles Forever and The Wire. The album is a collaboration between the band and producers James Ford, Ludwig Göransson and Ariel Rechtshaid.
Danielle Haim:
I think each song has its own story. I don’t think there was an overarching feeling for the record. I think the overarching theme was to make it sound like a band. But the feeling really does go from song to song.

We were so badly burned by (The Wire) that song. We recorded it five or six times before, and hated it. One little sound can make it so f-cking cheesy.

Este on the bass lines in the song:
If I Could Change Your Mind was a challenge for me because it’s all fast 16th notes. Trying to make it funky without a pick was a little difficult. That and Falling are the two funkiest songs on the record. Writing those bass lines was really, really fun.
LVL

We sang at the very end. (All begin singing ‘All you need is love’) That story was crazy because we met A$AP at a festival like a year ago.
