UFC 202: Fight Motion

McGregor:

Surprise! Surprise, motherf-cker! The king is back! He took [leg kicks] better than I expected. He’s a hell of a fighter. A hell of a competitor. He brought out the best in me. But I stayed calm with him. I learned from last contest. This time I want to do it at 155 pounds, I came in at 170 with him as the bigger man and I overcame that adversity. Now this trilogy is on my terms, come back down to 155 and we’ll do it.

Diaz:

I thought I had him. I’m too real for this fight. I’m ready to go again. Good job Conor, but we going for three.

Marquez wins the German GP, with a 20 second lead over Cal Crutchlow in second place. After a poor start, Marquez settles in 7th place. As the track dries out, on Lap 17 he is the first rider to change types to slicks, giving him the advantage over the rest of the field, who delay changing tyres until closer to the end of the race.

At a certain point today, I thought my run at this circuit was going to come to an end. But in the end we succeeded and earned a very good result, especially considering how Valentino and Jorge finished the race. It’s always very difficult to decide when to change bikes, and perhaps we made our switch very early…but I decided to take a chance and it went well.

Lorenzo wins the Qatar MotoGP at Losail Circuit, followed by Andrea Dovizioso, Marc Marquez, and Valentino Rossi.

To choose the right tyre was very important. I tried the warm-up lap with a hard tyre but I did not get the best feeling. It was very risky to go for the soft tyre, as our main rivals Rossi and Marquez chose the hard one. But it turned out well, as I made the fastest lap of 1:54.9 seconds [late in the race], which was impressive.

Wenger snubs Mourinho

As the victorious Arsenal squad come back down the Wembley steps after collecting their medals for their victory over Chelsea in the Community Shield, Mourinho starts congratulating them one by one. But Wenger, rather than shake the Chelsea manager’s hand, changes his path to avoid him, leaving a snubbed Mourinho to head down the tunnel on his own. Mourinho:

You only miss me if you want to miss me and every Arsenal player came in my direction, which was the easiest thing to do because I was just there. If other people didn’t come in my direction, that is not a problem, not a story and not the end of the world. I did my job, the job that my club deserves me to do and the status as a manager when I lose any trophy.

Wenger:

I shook a few hands today after the game, but nothing special there. I believe we live in a job where you have to respect people and respect everybody. It’s a difficult job. I think it’s vital, I have said many times, in managers’ meetings that managers respect each other.
