Journalists apologize
Journalists who have reported about Cosby over the past 40 year apologize for failing to follow up on sexual abuse allegations. Whitaker, his official biographer, responds to a New York Times column criticizing him and other journalists:
I was wrong to not deal with the sexual assault charges against Cosby and pursue them more aggressively.
A New York Post columnist, Richard Johnson, says the National Enquirer ran a story about Cosby’s daughter Erinn’s battles with drugs and alcohol, that Cosby himself gave to the paper in 1989 in exchange for killing a story about Cosby’s alleged infidelity with showgirls.
Wilson’s first TV interview
Stephanopolous conducts the first interview of Darren Wilson in a ‘secret location’. The hour long interview is set to air Tuesday, November 25 on World News with David Muir and Nightline and Wednesday, Nov. 26, on Good Morning America. Stephanopolous says Wilson told him that while he is sorry for the death of Brown, he would not change how he handled the situation. Stephanopolous:
He does not think he could have done anything differently. He says he did what he was trained to do. He has a clean conscience over his actions that day.
How To Make Millions interview
Calacanis tells HowStuffWorks about how Weblogs grew and developed:
We had all these passionate people blogging about these specific topics that advertisers could then advertise against, so you had this perfect marriage of bloggers who were passionate, an audience who was passionate about reading the bloggers, unfiltered, and advertisers, who could join that whole love-fest
Kraken to handle bankruptcy claims
The bankruptcy trustee for Mt. Gox announces it will work with California-based Bitcoin exchange, Kraken, to return the money left in the estate to the company’s 127,000 creditors. Kraken CEO Powell says the company will help with the claims process, including evaluating the assets owed to creditors, and that it will assist in the investigation of Mt. Gox’s collapse. He says the trustee will have the final decision on payments in Bitcoin:
Allowing the creditors to go on without reinvestment, I think, would be very wrong. We’ve got to have the money that was locked up for the last 10 months returned as soon as possible.
On whether the exchange should be revived:
There are no assets, no brand. There is nothing to speak of to revive.
Steve Austin Show interview
Wyatt is a guest on the Steve Austin Show to discuss his character in WWE and becoming a top WWE star.
I got into this because it was my dream. I go to live pretty much everything I’ve ever dreamed here in WWE and I’ve gotten to do everything I’ve wanted to do. I’ve lived my dream.
CBS interview
Brown, McSpadden and Brown Sr. give their reactions to the grand jury decision, officer Wilson and the violence in Ferguson. McSpadden:
My son doesn’t have a history of violence, one image does not paint a persons entire life or their entire past on how they were. We all do have a past….
E! Online interview
Bella talks to E! Online about winning the WWE Divas Championship at Survivor Series.
I think everyone’s in shock. They were waiting outside when I came out and gave me hugs and kisses, and Nattie wrote me a nice, super long text. They’ve all been waiting for a change and they’ve seen how hard I’ve been working and I think they are very happy for me; they felt it was very deserving.
Rob Lowe interview
Esquire interviews Lowe about the latest projects he is working on including staring in Direct TV commercials.
Well, last week I was shooting more DirecTV stuff, which is very time-intensive. There’s prosthetics, there’s design. I work on the commercials with them. We write them together. They’re very complicated to shoot. And I’m developing a new TV series at NBC, which is a very subversive and politically incorrect show about a family. I also have a cartoon for Comedy Central that I produce and star in called Moonbeam City. That will be premiering after Tosh.0 in the spring and I’m so happy for people to see it. If it could be more politically incorrect and more wrong than the DirecTV commercials, I would say it is. And I have a fun little surprise in the new James Franco and Seth Rogen movie The Interview, which is my favorite comedy of the year. They asked me to come in and have some fun on that, and I was happy to do it. That has been my must-see movie of the fall. I’ve been busy.
Admits to being one of Cosby’s ‘media enablers’
Whitaker responds to David Carr’s The New York Times article and tweet that he is one of Cosby’s ‘media enablers’, because he avoided writing about sexual abuse allegations against Cosby in the biography, Cosby: His Life and Times.
@carr2n David you are right. I was wrong to not deal with the sexual assault charges against Cosby and pursue them more aggressively.
— Mark Whitaker (@Marktwhitaker) November 24, 2014
Whitaker says he will address recent developments at the appropriate time.
Calls out Cosby’s ‘media enablers’, including himself
Carr questions why journalists, including himself, turned a blind eye the sexual assault allegations against Cosby, in an article in The New York Times.
And those in the know also included me. In 2011, I did a Q. and A. with Mr. Cosby for Hemispheres magazine, the in-flight magazine of United Airlines, and never found the space or the time to ask him why so many women had accused him of drugging and then assaulting them. We all have our excuses, but in ignoring these claims, we let down the women who were brave enough to speak out publicly against a powerful entertainer.
Comments on Sting’s debut
Ross updates the blog section of his website to discuss Sting’s WWE debut.
Happy to see my old friend The Stinger debut at the Survivor Series Sunday night. Honestly, I wish I hadn’t read so much material notwithstanding writing about the rumor of his return to the ring Sunday night. I’d have liked it better if I had not allowed myself to be preconditioned about Sting’s arrival. I have no one but me to blame. Nonetheless it seemed like he got a good ovation from the St. Louis crowd.
Accuses Cosby of sexual abuse
Allison reveals a night she spent with Cosby where they had dinner and celebrated her birthday:
He said he wanted to help models and actors who were well-educated, who could do something else. He produced a vintage bottle of wine, I was really impressed, he poured me a glass. The wine tasted awful, and I suddenly felt woozy and ill. Reeling, I sat on a couch. Cosby then lifted me up and lead her into another room. He said, Look in the mirror, and see the glow in your face. I looked at myself and I didn’t look good, my eyes were all over the place. Cosby grabbed my hand and placed it on his genitals. That was my sexual assault by this comedian. He turned me around and said, ‘Let’s get you home’. At the door, he gave me a very hard embrace and a hard kiss.
Alleges Cosby drugged and raped her
Hill, who co-starred alongside Cosby in his Picture Pages educational videos in the 1980s, claims Cosby may have drugged and sexually assaulted her, in an interview with Pittsburgh news station KDKA.
One time, I remember just before I passed out, I remember him kissing and touching me and I remember the taste of his cigar on his breath, and I didn’t like it. I remember another time when I woke up in my bed the next day and he was leaving. He mentioned you should probably lose a little weight. I thought that odd, how would he know that? “It just felt weird to me, and I remember being in high school saying to him, ‘I’ll come see you, but I don’t want to drink because it makes me feel funny. And he would tell me that if I didn’t drink, I couldn’t come see him.
Miami Herald interview
Rollins talks to the Miami Herald about Brock Lesnar, Survivor Series and learning from working with “The Authority”.
I’m a sponge in that scenario soaking up all the information I possibly can. You are looking at Triple H, who has pretty much done all there is to do in WWE. You look at Stephanie, who is a McMahon. She has this in her blood. Then you have Kane, who also has been around in many incarnations for a very long period of time. There is so much information and so much to learn about being the man in WWE.
Accuses Cosby of molestation
On Dec. 24, 1974 Playboy bunny Butterfield, says Cosby came onto her in his Massachusetts home while his wife and five children were in the house:
He pinned me against the corner in that guest house I said, Your family’s here! What are you doing?’ That didn’t faze him. He was aggressive. He didn’t rape me and he didn’t drug me, but he cornered me. It was so nasty, trying to get a quick kiss and touch my boobs. I felt so cheap, I was young, and I felt totally dirty. I just felt like I wanted to be invisible, I was so ashamed.
Cosby ‘fixer’ paid women
Frank Scotti, 90, says he spent years as NBC’s ‘fixer’ for Cosby, sending money to Cosby’s lady friends and as a guard at Cosby’s dressing room door when those women visited. Cosby had a rotating lineup of young women, some as young as 16, brought to his Brooklyn dressing room by a complicit modeling agency’s owner.
She knew exactly what was going to go on. Then he’d tell me, ‘Stand outside the door and don’t let anyone in.’ Now you put that together and figure (out) why.’
Scotti claims Cosby would put women he especially liked up in apartments and give them up to $2,000 per month. He eventually walked away from the star because of how he treated women.
He had everybody fooled.
Speaks out Cosby rape allegations
Host O’Donnell speaks out regarding Cosby’s rape allegations:
There are lots of allegations starting in 1969. There are many, many, many, and it’s very hard, I think, for any of us to discuss Cosby in this context. Because he is the beloved father image, the benevolent father that we as a society hold in some way. Even for, you know, anyone who has been the victim of sexual abuse to believe that somebody that you love or know could do that is a very difficult thing.
Telegraph interview
Kane talks to The Telegraph about new up-and-coming stars in the WWE.
I think the upcoming talent is great. For awhile I was very worried about the future of WWE because I worried about where the stars would come from. But WWE has done a fabulous job in partnering with Full Sail University, for WWE’s training facility. Some of the guys are second and third generations, but the thing about WWE’s training, is they learn our system before going on the roster, it’s more seamless. WWE’s future is bright.
BANG Showbiz interview
Sheamus talks to BANG Showbiz about the popularity of Total Divas and interest in creating a similar reality television program featuring the superstars instead of the divas.
I think there should be a new reality show for the guys, I think it would be interesting. It should definitely happen now we have the WWE Network. The bigger the Network grows the more content they are going to need and a reality show would definitely take off, especially if it had all the behind-the-scenes stuff.
‘Pull up YOUR pants’
Maher jokes about the recent sexual assault allegations leveled at Cosby during his Real Time monologue.
It was kind of a bad week for the Cos… on the plus side, he has lots of pills lying around that can make him forget the whole thing.
Even for a guy who did a sitcom in the 1980s, that’s a lot of wacky misunderstandings.
I think it is ironic justice that a nation of black teenagers now gets to say to Bill Cosby, ‘Pull up YOUR pants!’
