Kevin Hart interview

Interview

Seacrest interviews Hart during On Air With Ryan Seacrest and questions him about his fear of roller coasters.

Let me tell you why I’m afraid. I don’t like the fact that I’m confined, yet that I’m still a little loose. I’m so small, even though the thing clamps me down, when you’re going up and down, my body leans forward and it always feels like I’m about to come out. So the theory is I’m going to go on one of those loops and I’m going to fall out. Like I’m going to slip up under this thing and fall. If you look at that video, look at the way I’m holding on. My leg is wrapped around it it’s like a little kid. It’s a fear, Ryan. It’s bad.

Demi Lovato interview

Interview

Seacrest interviews Lovato during On Air With Ryan Seacrest and questions her about collaborating with Ed Sheeran.

I’ve been a huge, huge fan of his. I love his music, I love his album, so I covered his song and he saw it. And then he got in contact, and we were like, ‘We should write together, we should do something together.’ And then we ended up playing the same show at the Hollywood Bowl, so were like we have to do the song together. I was really really exited and super honored to do that with him because he’s just so talented.

Sam Smith interview

Interview

Seacrest interviews Smith during On Air With Ryan Seacrest and questions him about his debut album In the Lonely Hour.

Every single song is revealing, I said way too much. I’ve had this realization the other week when I was driving around London [and] there’s pictures of my face everywhere with the word Lonely underneath. I kind of realized I’e really really opened myself up on this record.

Ed Sheeran interview

Interview

Seacrest interviews Sheeran during On Air With Ryan Seacrest and questions him about the artist he most wants to work with.

I went in with Timbaland just to kind of play him music and talk about stuff, but he was doing the [Justin] Timberlake and Jay Z albums at that time, so we didn’t get to make music. So I’d like to go in with him in the future.

Adam Lambert interview

Interview

Seacrest interviews Lambert during On Air With Ryan Seacrest and questions him about his tour with Queen.

It’s kind of like a little sampler of our big arena tour that we’re about to kick off on Thursday in Chicago. We’re kind of putting the highlights together for the audience tonight. The rehearsal process has been a blast. Getting back onstage with these guys has been really good.

Jack Black interview

Interview

Seacrest interviews Black during On Air With Ryan Seacrest and asks him if he would be the band leader for Stephen Colbert, who is taking over for David Letterman on the Late Show.

I’m just going to say yes because that sounds really sexy although no one has approached me at all. Yeah, there’s a possibility. There’s always a chance of anything in the universe happening, right?

America Ferrera interview

Interview

Seacrest interviews Ferrara during On Air With Ryan Seacrest and questions her about his role in the film How To Train Your Dragon 2.

They’re all 20-year-olds. And it’s so cool to see animated characters grow up. I don’t think that’s happened before. Astrid is an awesome character. It’s just so great to see a female character in the middle of the action. I think that’s what we’re ready for. We’re sick of seeing girls sitting on the sidelines looking pretty and taking about boys. We’re ready for girls who kick butt!

Interview

Seacrest interviews Sir Mix-A-Lot during On Air With Ryan Seacrest and questions him asked him how his performance with the Seattle Symphony came to be.

It was kind of weird. Gabriel, who composed everything, I met with him two years ago and he’s like, ‘I want you to do this thing live with an orchestra.’ And of course I started shaking, but I thought I have two years, this guy is probably a flake. It will never happen and it happened.

MAGIC interview

Interview

Seacrest interviews Magic! during On Air With Ryan Seacrest and questions them on their single Rude.

Nasri:

It was just kind of a crazy idea that ran through my head. It actually started off really dark. Like, ‘Why you gotta be so rude?’ I was in a fight with a girlfriend we ended up flipping it.

Sam Smith interview

Interview

Seacrest interviews Smith during On Air With Ryan Seacrest and questions him about the meaning behind the song Stay With Me.

I think unlike a lot of men in the industry and in music, I’m willing to show that emotional side. That song is about the morning after a one-night stand and how you don’t want that person to leave even if you don’t fancy them, which I think everyone can relate to.

Lucy Hale interview

Interview

Seacrest interviews Hale during On Air With Ryan Seacrest and questions her about why her debut album Road Between is scary for her.

It’s definitely more scary because you’re more receptive of more criticism, but I’m really proud of my album. I think out of anything I’ve ever done in my life, this album is me, so I’m excited to finally show that side of me.

Ansel Elgort interview

Interview

Seacrest interviews Elgort during On Air With Ryan Seacrest and questions him about how he sneaked into the screening of his film The Fault In Our Stars with out being seen by his fans.

It was really amazing to go see it with an audience. As you said, everyone was sobbing and I’ve never experienced something like this before. At first, it’s weird because you think it’s some sort of laughing, and you’re like, ‘What’s wrong with these people?’ No, everyone is crying.

Kris Jenner interview

Interview

Seacrest interviews Jenner during On Air With Ryan Seacrest and questions her about Kim Kardashian and Kanye West marriage ceremony.

I’ve never been to anything quite so incredible in my life, and I think because he did it with such love he was so excited to surprise Kim. Pharrell interview

Interview

Come Get It’ I actually wrote for a girl. So it’s written from a woman’s perspective. And I just decided to re-record it myself. It’s funny because there’s another song on my album that is actually written from the perspective of a woman as well, and that’s called ‘Hunter.

Shailene Woodley interview

Interview

Seacrest interviews Woodley during On Air With Ryan Seacrest and questions her about her role in the film The Fault in Our Stars.

You’re definitely laughing, you’re definitely crying. It’s really beautiful even to find that balance between grieving over the loss of someone and also celebrating life. Those are two things that often go hand-in-hand without us recognizing it or realizing it. And that’s one thing that I truly love about that story.

The Madden Brothers interview

Interview

Seacrest interviews The Madden Brothers during On Air With Ryan Seacrest and questions them about their debut album Greetings From California.

We worked a very long time on this record. We’ve been working for almost three years on this Madden Brothers record and were so happy to finally be done with it. And Good Charlotte fans don’t need to worry! Good Charlotte will always be. It’s in our DNA, but it’s the Madden Brothers now, so we just decided to break off and do this new thing. We had to spend almost three years trying to find our sound and get inspired.

Cher Lloyd interview

Interview

Seacrest interviews Lloyd during On Air Wit Ryan Seacrest and questions her about her album Sorry I’m Late.

It took a long time to record this album because it took a long time for me to figure out what I wanted to do musically. And I think the title, Sorry I’m Late, is very fitting to what the album says.

Iggy Azalea interview

Hugh Jackman interview

Interview

Seacrest interviews Jackman during On Air With Ryan Seacrest and questions him about his character in the film X-Men: Days of Future Past.

It’s a good point [Wolverine relies on physical strength]. Then I keep thinking, I know the budgets on these movies go up, but I’m like, ‘Can you just throw some of that special effects budget my way?’ I’m an old man. Just pump me up and let me sit in the chair and drink my beer.

Nicki Minaj interview

Interview

Seacrest interviews Minaj during On Air With Ryan Seacrest and questions her about her single Pills And Potions.

It’s kind of like a tragic love story I just kind of feel like when I was working on the album, I started realizing how much things have changed, how much people change. And how people come in and out of your life I’ve just been reflecting a lot. I love that it has that feeling of ‘No matter what, I still love. There’s still love there.

Jared Leto interview

Interview

Seacrest interviews Leto during On Air With Ryan Seacrest and questions him about his single Afrojack.

It was a lot of fun, and it’s kind of our little summer song. I think it’s good to do things that are unexpected. It keeps it exciting and collaboration is always an interesting thing. A couple of years ago, I invited Kanye West to sing on a song and everyone was like, What the?’ But it was really cool and it let to all these other collaborations with him.

I actually remember being in the studio and calling her on Skype and her telling me what she would like and we worked together on writing my verse and it turned out amazing. This is very much a ‘girl power’-type of song.

Scotty McCreery interview

Interview

Seacrest interviews McCreery during On Air With Ryan Seacrest and questions him about how he was robbed at gun point.

If I had gone on 80 years and never had to deal with that, I would have been fine. We had gone out it was like 1:30 in the morning We were watching Gladiator on TV. And all of a sudden we heard a knock and they just barged on in. [They] knocked first we didn’t recognize them [so] we didn’t open it. And the second guy, [my friend] thought it was a neighbor. And it was only one person … no mask, no gun, no glove, didn’t look suspicious. As soon as they opened the door, then four people barged in guns a blazing. I thought whatever you want you take it. I was on the ground, and he was holding the gun to our heads. I was staring down the barrel of a pistol.

Chris Martin interview

Interview

I had that song and it had just come out of the sky about 2 o’clock in the morning about five months ago. The rest of the band were in London because we had just finished a session together, but Tim was here, so I asked him, ‘Is there any way you can come in a do this demo?’ And in about 20 minutes, he turned it into this full-on thing and it was just wonderful to do that he was there from the beginning.

I did a song with Zedd, who I just met for the first time. I really want that to be the second single. My whole team is like, ‘Oh, it’s too early to pick a new single,’ but I’m really I love that song so much. He’s fantastic and the song is really fun, and it’s very different for me especially.

Anderson Cooper interview

Interview

Seacrest interviews Cooper during On Air With Ryan Seacrest and questions him about his interview with Donald Sterling.

He says this is not who he is. He says he’s taken responsibility for it. A few sentences later, he’s also pointing the finger at this woman, V. Stiviano, saying he was kind of goaded into making these comments that he hasn’t said anything like this in the past. There a lot of people obviously who will disagree with him.

A Great Big World interview

Seacrest interviews A Great Big World during On Air With Ryan Seacrest. During the interview Seacrest questions them about their single Say Something. The band also covers R. Kelly’s Ignition. Ian:

That is the most vulnerable song we’ve ever written. And we felt so alone when we wrote it and it’s so crazy that that is the song that is doing this. We never thought that would be the single.

Chad:

There is actually another sort of Say Something on the album called I Don’t Want to Love Anybody Else. That’s like my Say Something. There’s no happy ending.

Romeo Santos interview

Interview

Seacrest interviews Santos during On Air With Ryan Seacrest and questions him about his possible collaboration with Drake and Nicki Minaj.

To be honest with you, every time I’m gonna produce a new record, I’m thinking about artists and the caliber of Drake, Nicki, I have that fear, like ‘Ok, will they be able to adapt to what Bachata is?’ And to be honest, it’s always been their initiative, they always want to sing Spanish, and I find it incredible. The funny thing is they do it so simple, you would think they’ve been influenced or listen to Bachata for a while.

Iggy Azalea interview

Interview

Seacrest interviews Azalea during On Air With Ryan Seacrest and questions her about being on Jennifer Lopez’s album.

I love her. I definitely used to sit in my bedroom as a young girl and lip-sync Jennifer Lopez songs, so it’s very cool to have a song with her on her album. She actually only asked me about two weeks ago, so I didn’t have to keep the secret for too long. When I opened on tour for Beyonce, I had to keep that under wraps for months, which really killed me. So this is a breeze.

Justin Timberlake interview

Interview

Seacrest interviews Timberlake during On Air With Ryan Seacrest and questions him about re-working the single Love Never Felt So Good for the Michael Jackson Xscape project.

The demo is just Michael and a piano, so funny enough, when we got the track to work on, when you peeled everything away, you couldn’t separate Michael’s vocals from the piano. It was all on one track. We had numerous people dig through archives and this is the only existing demo we could find It makes you feel that early ’80s Off the Wall/Thriller right around that time when I’m sure he was recording a bunch of music.

Sam Smith interview

Interview

Seacrest interviews Smith during On Air With Ryan Seacrest and questions him about his single Stay With Me.

There’s a rawness to that song, which I hope a lot people can connect with. I’m an emotional guy and I think unlike a lot of men in the industry and in music, I’m willing to show that emotional side. I don’t have an bravado to put in front, and I’m just showing my raw self.

Jennifer Lopez interview

Interview

Seacrest interviews Lopez during On Air With Ryan Seacrest and questions her about her single First Love.

For me, it’s like that feeling when you find somebody that you are really are into, and you’re like, ‘Why didn’t I meet you years ago? I wouldn’t have had to go through all this crap. But in all seriousness, “It’s just one of those love songs, like ‘I love you, I’m happy that I found you’ type of thing.
