Zuma, Madiba marry
Zuma marries Thobeka Madiba, at a homestead in rural KwaZulu-Natal province. They were meant to marry in 2008 but the wedding was delayed due to Zuma’s government responsibilities. The ceremony includes a hourlong traditional Zulu wedding dance. Madiba performs a solo dance while holding a spear and a shield to symbolize her acceptance of her new husband. Zuma, wearing a skirt made of animal fur pelts and sporting bright white tennis shoes, then joins the dance. The bride and groom wear matching sneakers. 2000 guests dine on traditional Zulu foods, and attendees are told that more than a dozen sheep, goats and cows have been slaughtered for the feast.
Ponyo
Miyazaki’s take on The Little Mermaid, Ponyo, is released. The story follows the adventures of Ponyo, a half goldfish girl, as she explores life out of the sea with Sosuke, a five year-old boy.
I have always dreamed of making a film with the sea as a motif, but animating the waves is really hard, so I wasn’t able to do that up to now. I decided to change the way of animating, and had a change of thought: that the sea is actually a living thing. Of course, it took courage to draw eyes on it! But a lot of the staff thought it was interesting so I thought, “Oh, okay, it works!”
Jonas, Delease marry
Jonas and Delease get married at the Oheka Castle, a turn-of-the-century French-style chateau, on a sprawling estate in Long Island. 400 family members and friends are present.

Roy Disney dies age 79
After fighting stomach cancer for a year, Disney passes away in Newport Beach, California. Bob Iger, CEO of the Walt Disney Company:
Roy’s commitment to the art of animation was unparalleled and will always remain his personal legacy and one of his greatest contributions to Disney’s past, present and future.
After a private funeral, he is cremated, and his ashes are scattered at sea.

My character isn’t original. He’s based off of Stiles in the original movie so, when I first read this pilot “Teen Wolf” script, I didn’t know about the movie and I fell in love with the Stiles character, which is testament to Jeff Davis’s writing because that’s what the audience is supposed to do. I wanted to go in and audition for Stiles.
Josie Brooklyn Duggar born
The Duggar’s nineteenth child, Josie Brooklyn Duggar, is born. Michelle has an emergency c-section at 25 weeks gestation. Josie weighs 1 pound 6 ounces.
It was so scary when she had to deliver early. When they came in and said we need to deliver within 30 minutes, it was one of the scariest moments of our lives… We’re so thankful that Michelle’s doing great, the baby’s doing great.
Puro, Sokoloff marry
Sokoloff and Puro gets married. Sokoloff arrived at Il Cielo restaurant with five bridesmaids and two matrons of honor. The couple exchanged vows in front of a 100 guests. The bride wore a strapless white gown with a black sash around her waist. She carried a bouquet of white flowers.
Marla looked beyond stunning. She took a few deep breaths and briefly teared up before she entered the restaurant. She seemed a bit nervous, but still looked very happy.
Donates money to protect forests
Disney donates $7 million to support forest conservation efforts, including protection against deforestation in the Amazon, the Congo and throughout the United States. The company partners with Conservation International and The Conservation Fund to support a variety of related causes.
These efforts supplement what we are already doing across the company to cut down on fossil fuel use, to switch to cleaner forms of energy and to educate kids and adults alike about being better environmental stewards.
John Falconetti born

Deschanel, Gibbard marry
Deschanel weds Gibbard after almost a year of dating. The couple exchange vows in an evening ceremony held near Seattle, Washington. Gibbard proposed too Deschanel with a three-carat and platinum ring from Neil Lane. Deschanel:

The actress joins Brown University’s class of 2013. During her first day of orientation, Watson participates in group orientation week events such as a yoga class, midnight organ concert, and games night. The actress, who will be studying literature at the university, says:

Noel quits
Noel has quit Oasis, saying he can no longer work with Liam. Prior to the breakup of the band Noel and Liam were involved in a series of rows. Liam casts doubt on the bands future:
