Becomes mother of two
Michaels announces VIA Facebook and People Magazine that she is officially a mother. Michaels brought home Lukensia, her 2-year-old adopted daughter from Haiti, the same week that her partner Heidi Rhoades, gave birth to their son, Phoenix. She has an incredible amount of hair! So much so, that the hospital nurses washed it, brushed it, and put a bow in it on the first day! We know kids a year old who don’t have half the amount of hair our daughter had at birth!

Isabetta was born with a full head of brown hair and blue eyes. She still has all of her hair almost six weeks later, and her eyes are still as blue as can be. Her sisters can’t get enough of her. They always want to hold her and I’m not sure who gives her more kisses — her big sisters or her parents!

Helps rescue racehorse
Michaels donates thousands of dollars to help the People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals rescue a former racehorse headed to the slaughterhouse. The horse, Royale With Speed, is the grandson of Triple Crown champ Secretariat, and will be looked after by a family in New Mexico.
