Administrator: Buyers expressing interest in yard
Administrators for Ferguson’s say they have held talks with several potential buyers (the exact number is not known) and are “encouraged” by the interest so far. The yard will be bought by the Scottish government if a private buyer is not found within four weeks of the date of the firm going into administration. Deloitte:
The joint administrators are undertaking a sale process and are actively engaged in discussions with a number of potentially-interested parties, however it is early in the process and therefore it is not appropriate for us to comment further at this stage. We have been encouraged by the level of interest in the yard so far but would encourage any remaining parties who may have an interest to contact us.
The Scottish government:
Ministers remain committed to the completion of vessels, securing jobs, and working towards finding a solution to support future shipbuilding at the site. Deloitte, as administrator, is currently going through the process of market testing for a private buyer. We will also start work to determine the optimal structure for the yard to ensure its long-term future. Our first priority is to establish a new delivery programme to ensure the completion of the CMAL ferry contracts.
McColl ‘frustrated’ by ferry design changes
On Good Morning Scotland, McColl says more work should have been done on the vessel’s design before the contract was tendered.
We have incurred significantly higher costs in the work we’ve had to do on these ferries, and we’ve been engaging with CMAL to discuss these costs. Maybe the best way to put it is that we’ve been frustrated in these discussions. We’ve been discussing it for over a year, and we have been funding that, so it’s been using a lot of our capital. We’ve been funding it solely. Our view is that these have been genuine changes that have had to be made to the work we’ve been doing, and they’re changes that ought to be incurred by the buyer. I believe that perhaps more design development work could have been done prior to the invitation to tender going out, rather than dealing with multiple things that are arising as we got into the build process. But we’re working diligently through that.
McColl also told the programme that Ferguson Marine had been extensively refurbished to prepare it for new Royal Navy and commercial contracts.
McGregor: ‘I was in the wrong’
McGregor speaks about his attack on an elderly drinker in a pub and says watching video was ‘like a dagger to the heart’ and that he needs to make amends.
That man deserved to enjoy his time in the pub without having it end the way it did…I will face this head on. I will not hide from it. I was in the wrong. It was completely unacceptable behaviour for a man in my position…I owe it to the people who trained me in martial arts – and it is not the reason I got into martial arts …was to defend against that kind of scenario. I have been making steps to do better and be better to see it is like a dagger into my heart as a martial artist.
Mackay: Ferry delivery schedule must be set by October
Speaking after meeting board members at the shipyard, Mckay says the new delivery schedule for the two ferries must be set by October.
We have always been clear that we want to complete the vessels, secure jobs and give the yard a future. On Friday, I met with the excellent workforce and stressed the Scottish government’s commitment to achieving the best possible outcome for the yard. Today, I convened the first meeting of the newly-established programme review board and tasked them with establishing a new delivery schedule for both vessels and a revised cost window. This group will help assess the current situation and ensure the effective and efficient delivery schedule of the CMAL ferry contracts as quickly as possible.
Minister: Ferries may be ready next year
Transport Minister Matheson tells the Scottish Government’s rural economy and connectivity committee that the ships could be sailing next year but he admits there are there are questions about whether this will happen.
Where we are with these two vessels is simply not where any of us would want to be. We want to see these vessels being utilised and on routes. At the present moment, the indications are they expect both vessels to be completed next year, one in the earlier part of the year prior to the summer, and one later in the year. However, there are still some questions about their ability to keep to those timescales…Last August we had a £3.5m resilience fund provided to CalMac to assist them in maintaining their existing vessels, to try and help improve reliability and we will provide a further £4m in this financial year in order to allow that to continue to be supported, to help mitigate some of the risks associated with vessels going off service.
In response to West of Scotland Conservative MSP Jamie Greene, who asked when the ferrie would be ready, Mathieson said the delays were “disappointing”. The minister also said he had not personally visited the Port Glasgow shipyard to see progress on the ferries.
White confirms McGregor ‘will fight again’
White confirms that McGregor will fight again, despite his retirement announcement last month.
Conor McGregor will fight again…Me and Conor communicate every day. We’ve been talking all this week. Things are good with Conor and I and we’ll get something figured out soon…Conor likes to be in a position where he holds the cards and he does what he wants to do.
White remains optimistic on the prospect of a rematch with either Mayweather or Nurmagomedov.
Yeah, if Floyd wants to fight in the octagon, we’ll do it one hundred per cent. I think that that fight is a possibility some day in the octagon…And, obviously I think everybody would like to see the fight with him (McGregor) and Khabib again.
Denies claim he fathered woman’s daughter
McGregor denies Murray’s claims that one-year-old Clodagh was born nine months after she allegedly slept with him. Murray and McGregor met when he travelled to Liverpool for the 2017 Grand National – four weeks before his long-term partner Dee Devlin gave birth to their first child. Photos of McGregor and Murray, allegedly taken in the bathroom of his hotel suite, allegedly show his hand sliding under her black leather mini-skirt. McGregor posted a message denying he is the father, and claims she actually slept with one of his friends:
The results are in! It turns out we are actually horses. Giddy up ?

Adexchangers Industry Preview
Yaccarino discusses NBCU’s plans for the year ahead, including how the company is measuring viewers across media.
If we measured viewers on televsion in terms of Super Bowls, Jimmy Fallon has about 34 Super Bowls every single night. So we have to stop and come together as an industry and stop talking about digital vs. TV, or us vs. them, so we can transact on something that delivers your business solution that makes sense.
Welcomes second child
McGregor reveals he, and Dee Devlin, are parents for the second time, as he heads home from the hospital with his new baby. He posted a photo of himself on Instagram, from-the-back, holding a baby seat and the hand of his oldest son, Conor Jr., with the caption:
Heading home with my two healthy babies and an energized and healthy SuperMam. 2019 is off to the best start!

Coach Kavanagh thinking twice before working with McGregor again
Kavanagh admits he would need to be convinced to return to McGregor’s corner for particular fights going forward. He does not want to see McGregor risk himself unnecessarily in second-rate fights, now that he is entering the final stages of his professional MMA career.
He would certainly have to convince me to go again. I love him, I love the whole journey we’ve had but I’d need a good ‘why’. It might be [Nate] Diaz again because he promised that fight. It might be a rematch with Khabib. But if it was just: ‘Well, they want me to fight that guy’ I think I’d say, ‘I wish you the best. He has a wife and two kids now and I don’t want him taking more hits than he needs to. Khabib hit him with a punch in that fight that he has never been hit with in his career. And even Superman slows down at some stage.

Nurmagomedov, McGregor may reconcile
Nurmagomedov reveals he can imagine a reconciliation with McGregor, even after the bitter feud that marred their last title fight. Both men are waiting on a December 10 hearing with the Nevada State Athletic Commission to find out if their actions will result in any further sanctions, but Nurmagomedov insists that he and McGregor may not remain bitter enemies.
Everything is possible. Just as McGregor and I feuded, so we could reconcile…Who are we not to forgive one another when the Almighty forgives us?
Apologises for running out of whiskey
McGregor apologises for running out of his Proper No.Twelve whiskey. The company say they have “sold more cases in less than one month than many whiskey brands sell in a full year”, claiming hundreds of thousands of bottles sold. McGregor says he is sorry for the worldwide shortage and is personally making sure the company is ramping up production.
I don’t usually see reason to apologise but in this case I want to take this chance to apologise to absolutely everyone for our out-of-stock situation. I was at the distillery last week and we have plans in place to be back in stock in Ireland and the United States in early December and onward. We are producing many hundreds of thousands of bottles now.
McGregor’s hopes of Nurmagomedov rematch dashed by UFC
UFC president White expects Nurmagomedov to face Ferguson when he returns, and not a rematch with McGregor. Both Nurmagomedov and McGregor will come before the Nevada State Athletic Commission on December 10 to discover whether they will be fined and banned for their post-fight brawls.
They’ve got to go before the NSAC which is scheduled for December and we’ll see what happens. Tony Ferguson is the right fight [for Nurmagomedov], he didn’t lose the belt in a fight so it’s the right fight. We’ll see how this whole thing plays out, it all depends on the suspensions.
McGregor visits Taylor after her titles victory
McGregor was ringside in Boston to watch compatriot Taylor successfully defend her world titles. He then visits Taylor in her dressing room where he praises the WBA and IBF champion.
It is an honour to see you live. Big respect Katie, honestly. You were enjoying it; hand behind your back. But they should have given you a microphone [after you won]. You are a special talent.
Responds After NFL Fans Ridicule Throw Attempt
McGregor visited NFL franchise Dallas Cowboys as a guest of Cowboys owner Jerry Jones at the AT&T Stadium, to watch their victory over Jacksonville Jaguars. He engaged in the pre-match team talk and was also given the opportunity to throw the football. McGregor responds to the social media mocking of his football throwing technique by pointing out he wasn’t exactly dressed for the occasion.
Hahaha yous’r f*****g ruthless on this side. I just didn’t want to rip my custom baby blue billionaire blazer.
That was all, y’all.

Odds cut on McGregor entering ‘I’m A Celebrity…2018’
With only a few weeks to go before I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! 2018 launches, bookmakers cut the odds that McGregor will be joining as a contestant. McGregor is being tipped as a likely contender for the show after losing his recent fight and being suspended and ordered not to fight for a month by the UFC, due to injuries. The suspension will run until November 6 and I’m A Celebrity launches in mid-November. Jessica Bridge from bookmakers Ladbrokes comments:
McGregor’s faced a fair few snakes in UFC, so the celebrity jungle should be a breeze for the Irishman.

White: McGregor ‘upset’ about loss, doesn’t care about brawl
Following the events that closed out UFC 229, White gives a brief statement talking about how McGregor was upset at the defeat, and didn’t care about the brawl:
He didn’t care about the fight after. He was more concerned with the fight. He said ‘listen man, I’m upset. I don’t give a shit about any of that, we don’t like each other.’…You know he doesn’t like Khabib and the whole deal, but he didn’t press charges against him and the whole team. He doesn’t care about that. He cares that he lost the fight.
Nurmagomedov apologises at post fight press conference
At the press conference following McGregor’s defeat by Nurmagomedov and the chaos that ensued, Nurmagomedov says Russian president Vladimir Putin called to congratulate him, and he apologises to the commission.
First of all I want to say sorry to the athletic commission and second to Vegas. This is my bad side…I’m human being. I don’t understand how people can talk about (how) I jump over the cage…He talk about my religion, he talk about my country. He talk about my father. He come to Brooklyn and he broke bus. He almost kill a couple of people. What about this shit?…My father teach me you have to always be respectful… You can not talk about religion. You can not talk about nation…I know my father going to smash me when I go home.
