‘Computers are going to take over from humans, no question.’

In an interview with The Australian Financial Review, Wozniak discusses a wide range of technology issues. He says he hopes Apple will get into the automotive industry and compete with Tesla.

There are an awful lot of companies right now who are playing with electric cars and there’s a lot more playing with self-driving cars, this is the future and it might be huge … there are so many openings here and it is perfect territory for a company like Apple…it seems like they might be hiring a lot of people who could really build a vehicle.

He goes on to talk about his growing unease with the increasing sophistication of artificial intelligence. He says he has come to realize that the warnings of writers about machine intelligence outstripping human understanding or capability within the next thirty years were coming true. Computing that either mimicked or attained human consciousness could become a reality.

Computers are going to take over from humans, no question…I agree that the future is scary and very bad for people. If we build these devices to take care of everything for us, eventually they’ll think faster than us and they’ll get rid of the slow humans to run companies more efficiently….Will we be the gods? Will we be the family pets? Or will we be ants that get stepped on? I don’t know about that … But when I got that thinking in my head about if I’m going to be treated in the future as a pet to these smart machines … well I’m going to treat my own pet dog really nice.

Accuses Obama of Israel election tampering

In an interview with AM 970 on The Cats Roundtable, McLaughlin says that President Obama’s role during the Israeli elections was bigger than has been reported. He noted that the effort to oust Netanyahu was led by a former Obama political operative and that V15 is linked to the Washington-based nonprofit OneVoice Movement, which reportedly received $350,000 in State Department grants.

What was not well reported in the American media is that President Obama and his allies were playing in the election to defeat Prime Minister Netanyahu…There was money moving that included taxpayer U.S. dollars, through non-profit organizations. And there were various liberal groups in the United States that were raising millions to fund a campaign called V15 against Prime Minister Netanyahu.

The State Department people in the end of January, early February, expedited visas for [Israeli] Arab leaders to come to the United States to learn how to vote…There were people in the United States that were organizing them to vote in one party so they would help the left-of-center candidate, Herzog, that the Obama administration favored.

Claims he would have defeated Obama

Santorum gives an interview to Time about how he would have defeated Obama in 2012 had he won the GOP nomination, and the themes of his 2016 presidential run.

I would have been able to attract the voters in the states that mattered. Romney would probably do better than me in New Jersey and California and New York. But I’d do better in Michigan, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, Virginia—in the states that were going to decide the election. Look at how we did in Ohio in the primary. We got outspent by huge amounts. I didn’t run a single ad in the Cleveland market, and we still almost beat him in Ohio.

On Air interview

Seacrest interviews Perry during On Air With Ryan Seacrest about The Prismatic World Tour world television premier.

The Prismatic World Tour is crazy and it’s not a joke. We did 127 shows. I’m very tired, obviously, but still standing, still kicking, and I feel about 56 years-old right now. Well everybody should tune in because I got to film this amazing show. And I’m very proud of it, and it’s an amazing show full of a lot of the songs people are familiar with, because I always know that it’s always very important when going to tour is to sing the songs that people have made memories to. I created like seven different worlds. There’s so many different costumes and things to look at and wonderful remixes.

Plans to press charges

Judd says she plans to press charges if she could.

I must, as a woman who was once a girl, as someone who uses the Internet, as a citizen of the world, address personally, spiritually, publicly and even legally, the ripe dangers that invariably accompany being a woman and having an opinion about sports or, frankly, anything else.

Reuters interview

In an interview with Reuters, Foster talks about the challenge of judging talent, and thanks fellow coach and former F4 member Vannessa Wu for the tips on how to judge dance acts.

As you know, judging a singer is my expertise. I really have to be in a fast-learning curve, in terms of the dancers. One of my co-coaches is a great dancer and gave me a quick lesson in educating me on the difference between good and great dancing. On other acts, like traditional talents, local acts, I have to decide very quickly on world-class talents. It was a very difficult challenge to navigate. But as the days went on, we got more comfortable on learning what is good and great.

His tip for contestants:

My answer to that is if you wanna make it big, you really should never ask that question (advice) because you cannot put it into words. It’s like Nike, you just do it. I don’t have any advice for you because you have to figure it out on your own.

Blurred Lines comments

Rodgers comments on Williams and Thicke’s copyright infringement in the Blurred Lines court case, saying he believes the song’s composition is not at all like Gaye’s Got to Give it Up.

Compositionally, purely compositionally, I don’t think they should have lost that case. Got to Give it Up is clearly a blues structure, Blurred Lines isn’t at all. If we lose our freedom to be inspired, we’re going to look up one day and the entertainment industry as we know it will be frozen in litigation.

This particular tsunami of gender-based violence and misogyny flooding my Twitter feed was overwhelming.

On Air interview

Seacrest interviews Trainor during On Air With Ryan Seacrest about the MTrain Tour and how she chooses special fans for a personal meet and greet.

I’m almost done with this first leg of this tour. Which is unreal because I feel like I just started.

Sometimes when a girl cries a lot, I’ll definitely take her to meet and greet. Or a lot of times, my tour manager will have little nieces, and I’ll take them or family members. In Boston, I had my own two cousins come up.

Seacrest interviews Lautner during On Air With Ryan Seacrest about his role in the film Tracers.

I find myself at the beginning of the movie owing a bunch of money I borrowed, and that’s when I met Nikki and her street criminal friends who sort of have this underground delivery business using parkour. I become involved in that to make some money…Whether it was running down a street from roofs of cars to the top of a semi truck, jumping down from that, or some insane jump off a building, it was endless, these crazy stunts we had to do.

MLB TV Interview

Zobrist talks about his role on the team and what he expects for the 2015 season.

It was a little bit of a shock at first, being traded after being there for so long, it felt like a family and stuff. That was hard for the first few days.  It was really touching, some of the things they wrote in the paper. And we’ve heard from a lot of people, a lot of fans that appreciated the way I played the game there. Frankly, the area was just really good to us, the people there and the team and everything. I’ll always look back on that as a special time. But this is a new chapter in our baseball life, and we’re enjoying that now.

Seacrest interviews DeGeneres during On Air With Ryan Seacrest about executive producing NBC’s television sitcom One Big Happy.

It’s a story about love, and family, and friendships. And it’s Elisha Cuthbert, who is adorable and funny, and Nick Zano are best friends and have been childhood friends and they decided if they don’t have significant others by a certain age, he’s going to help her get pregnant because she’s gay and she doesn’t have someone in her life and she wants to have a kid…They’re going to raise a child together; all three of them. So it’s funny and it’s sweet and it’s great that NBC picked it up because it’s something that’s on television that is brand new and people have not seen this before. And there are a lot of ways to define a family.

Vogue interview

Jesso Jr. gives an interview to Vogue magazine. He discusses rumors about Taylor Swift, Goon, and his album.

I went to a Grammy party and I met her, but beyond that it’s ridiculous. I don’t know, she’s nice. It’s kind of strange, I never really considered gossip magazines as a possibility that would ever happen in my life. Maybe I snuck into all of this, but I’m glad to be here and I’m not leaving.

‘Incredibly close to the common woman’

Paltrow says she is similar to other women since she is a woman and a mother.

I am incredibly close to the common woman in that I am a woman and I’m a mother and we all are in a physical body with beating hearts with compassion and love. We are all seekers. We all want questions. We all want, we all want fulfillment. We want to live our best lives. We want to be healthy and happy and to squeeze the most that we can out of life. I think that’s all women.

On whether she is a ‘lifestyle guru’:

I see myself as an actor, a mother and an entrepreneur. I don’t see myself as a guru at all…I’m not a guru because I feel I’m the one asking the questions.

Gwyneth Paltrow: "I'm close to the common woman...

Late Night with Seth Meyers interview

Cruz gives an interview to Meyers on Late Night with Seth Meyers, talking about his views on gay marriage.

For over 200 years, marriage has been a question for the states. Now, personally I believe in traditional marriage between one man and one woman. But if you want to change the marriage laws, the way to do it constitutionally, is convince your fellow citizens to go to the state legislator and change it. It shouldn’t be the federal government or unelected judges imposing their own definition of marriage. We should, instead, respect our constitutional system.

On his extended Obamacare filibuster:

It actually went fabulously, because right now, Obamacare has 37 percent approval rating and as a result of Obamacare, Harry Reid and the Democrats lost the senate, and in 2016, I think we’re gonna see a very different election result.

Seacrest interviews Johnson during On Air With Ryan Seacrest about his life threatening crash.

Fortunately, I got two impacts with the wall, but the angle wasn’t too severe and the car kind of took the energy of the impact. So nothing bad there. We had some bad wrecks earlier in the year for some of my coworkers essentially. You know Kyle Busch being the notable there, and hopefully he’s recovering well and will be back on the track soon.

Seacrest interviews Foxx during On Air With Ryan Seacrest about his single You Changed Me.

It’s great for me because it’s not too, too young, which my daughter always reminds me, ‘Don’t get too young. My daughter is always on me even when I was trying to wear ‘too young’ of a shoe. With this music, I let her hear the music and she said, ‘Dad, that’s it. You’re young, it’s fly, it’s grown’.

36 points against Bulls

Westbrook talks about the game against the Chicago Bulls. Westbrook had 36 points, 11 rebounds and six assists, including one to Morrow for a 3-pointer in the final minute, helping the Thunder hold off Bulls 109-100.

We did a good job of learning from our mistakes. The first time we played them, I had a chance to hit Serge [Ibaka] on a kickback [when] two guys was on me. Tonight, same situation — two guys on me. I kicked to A-Mo and trusted my teammate and he knocked it down, so it was good.

The Talks interview

Teller gives an interview to The Talks. He discusses how it is difficult to work with his family and why he started taking photos of himself.

I think I got a slightly tired of photographing a lot of celebrities, whether it’s musicians, actors or models. You had to deal with a lot of vanity and I just didn’t want to ask anyone anymore. I thought, “Fuck it, I’m going to photograph myself. I’m not going to look very nice, but no one’s going to tell me what to do.” Also I wanted to feel how it is to be photographed by me!
