Withdraws recommendation

Makes Statement0 Comments

Consumer Reports withdraws its recommendation for the Tesla Model S, after surveying 1400 owners, because of “worse-than-average” reliability. The car previously had the best rating possible.

As the older vehicles are getting up on miles, we are seeing some where the electric motor needs to be replaced and the onboard charging system won’t charge the battery. On the newer vehicles, we are seeing problems such as the sunroof not operating properly. Door handles continue to be an issue…Despite the problems, [Consumer Reports] data show that Tesla owner satisfaction is still very high: Ninety-seven percent of owners said they would definitely buy their car again.

Tesla Motors share price drops 10% before recovering to close off 7%.

Thanks fans

Kardashian thanks her fans:

The past week has been incredibly difficult. I’m so thankful for family, friends and fans, who have sent nothing but prayers and well wishes to Lamar. I also want to take a moment to thank everyone at Sunrise Hospital, including the amazing doctors and nurses for their kindness and diligent work…You can never be prepared for an experience like this, but without the outpouring of love and endless prayers that Lamar has received and the strength I was given from my loved ones, it would have been difficult to endure. Thank you for your continued support. God is great!!! XOXO, Khloe.

Will close mosques, revoke ISIS fighter passports

Interview0 Comments

In an interview on Fox Business Network’s Varney & Co, Trump says he will rescind passports of those who fight for ISIS.

Varney: Now, in the UK, in Britain, they’ve obviously got a terror problem. They’ve got a lot of youngsters going over to fight for ISIS, about — just under 1,000 are going over there, and they’ve got a whole new series of proposals to deal with this, including withdrawal of passports from some of these people who’ve gone –.
Trump: Absolutely good, good.
Varney: And closing some mosques, would you do the same thing in America.
Trump: I would do that. Absolutely. I think it’s great.

‘Bush should not say brother kept us safe’

Interview0 Comments

In an interview on Fox News Sunday, Wallace asks Trump about his comments on George W. Bush and 9/11.

Jeb [Bush] said ‘We were safe with my brother. We were safe.’ Well, the World Trade Center just went down. Now, am I trying to blame him? I’m not blaming anybody, but the World Trade Center came down, so when he said we were safe, we were not safe. We lost 3,000 people. It was one of the greatest — probably the greatest catastrophe ever in this country…I am extremely, extremely tough on people coming into this country. [If I had been president then]…there’s a good chance that those people would not have been in the country…I’m not blaming George Bush, but I don’t want Jeb Bush to say ‘My brother kept us safe’.

Bush responds:

Across the spectrum of foreign policy, Mr. Trump talks about things as though he’s still on The Apprentice. My brother responded to a crisis, and he did it as you would hope a president would do. He united the country, he organized our country and he kept us safe. And there’s no denying that. The great majority of Americans believe that.

CNN interview

Clinton is interviewed by Tapper on State of The Union. Tapper:

With all your experience, why wouldn’t you anticipate that over the course of four years, handling very sensitive diplomatic negotiations, overseeing military interventions and surveillance, why wouldn’t you anticipate that something classified, whether about North Korea or Iran or drones or an informant for the CIA, that it wouldn’t be emailed to you? And why wouldn’t you consider that having it on your personal account with some server in Colorado might be a personal risk

Clinton:

It was allowed under the rules of the State Department…No, no, it was allowed. You know, one of my predecessors did the same thing

Early interview: McGregor got into MMA so people would ‘leave him alone’

Interview0 Comments

McGregor talks about why he got into MMA.

I just got into it. I didn’t really care about sport. Like I didn’t care about sport fighting. I didn’t get in it to be the all Ireland champion or the world champion. I just got in it so people would say ‘right, this guy can do this’ or ‘this guy does a bit of training or does something, we’ll just watch him. We’ll just leave him alone’. That was how I started doing it and, it turns out I was good at it and, I just got lost in it then and it became more than just that.

Agrees to two-hour debate

Makes Statement0 Comments

After threats by Carson and Trump to pull out of the upcoming CNBC presidential debate, the network agrees to a two-hour format including commercials, and also agrees candidates can have opening and closing statements. GOP campaign source:

People realized we got the short end of the stick when the Democrats had a 2 minute opening and a 90 second closing [during their debate], so they had three and a half minutes to a 15 million person audience of an infomercial. They get a commercial, we get The Hunger Games.

FBI focuses on ‘gross negligence’

Makes Statement0 Comments

An intelligence source tells Fox News that FBI is now focused on whether there were violations of an Espionage Act subsection pertaining to “gross negligence” in the safekeeping of national defense information.  It is a violation for the “lawful possession” of national defense information by a security clearance holder who “through gross negligence,” such as the use of an unsecure computer network, permits the material to be removed or abstracted from its proper, secure location. The section also requires the clearance holder to report any loss, theft or destruction to their superior. The penalty is a fine and/or no more than ten years in jail. The source also says that the FBI are investigating possible obstruction of justice:

If someone knows there is an ongoing investigation and takes action to impede an investigation, for example destruction of documents or threatening of witnesses, that could be a separate charge but still remain under a single case.

Blames Bush for 9/11

Interview0 Comments

In an interview with Bloomberg Television, Trump bristles at the mention of George W. Bush and President Obama’s role as comforter-in-chief.

OK, I think I have a bigger heart than all of them. I think I’m much more competent than all of them. When you talk about George Bush – I mean, say what you want, the World Trade Center came down during his time…He was president, OK? ‘Blame him or don’t blame him, but he was president. The World Trade Center came down during his reign. If you look at Sandy Hook, those people are still begging for help. It’s a disaster, and it’s a disaster all over the place. Government has proven to be a disaster during the Obama administration. What we need is a leader, we don’t have a leader

Describes attack

Makes Statement0 Comments

Mintz describes the attack in a Facebook post (link). He says he was in an adjacent classroom in Snyder Hall when everyone heard yelling. When they heard gunfire, Mintz held the door as everyone fled.

All of a sudden, the shooter opened the classroom door beside the door to my left, he leaned half of his torso out and started shooting as I turned toward him. He had a black shirt on, a shaved head, was tan and wearing glasses, he was so nonchalant through it all, like he was playing a video game and showed no emotion. The shots knocked me to the ground and felt like a truck hit me. He shot me again while I was on the ground and hit my finger, and said “that’s what you get for calling the cops” and I laid there, in a fetal position unable to move and responded “I didn’t call the cops man, they were already on the way.” He leaned further out of the classroom and tried to shoot my phone, I yelled “its my kids birthday man” he pointed the gun right at my face and then he retreated back into the class. I’m still confused at why he didn’t shoot me again.

I have to thank all the people who responded and everyone in the hospitals. THEY are the real heros, they saved us. I was shot five times, once in the left leg(breaking my femur) once in the right leg(breaking my tibia and fibula) once in the abdomen that exited my right hip, once at the top of my shoulder blade(it is still in my back, broke off part of my scapula and was about an inch from my aeorta) and finally my left finger(shattering the mid-joint of my ring finger.) Although I am not completely sure, I believe the caliber was a 38.

I am recovering well and thank everyone for their thoughts and prayers.

Says controversy has destroyed business

Makes Statement0 Comments

While waiting for a court appearance, Bronkhurst says he did nothing wrong because he had a legal permit and that he will be vindicated in court. He claims he is the fall guy.

Well, I guess I shot a famous lion…There are many collared lions shot every year, and as far as I’m aware there’s five that were shot this year alone…Well, it’s destroyed us, it’s destroyed the family, my business. You know, we employ a lot of people, and they are on half-time now. I guess each family is supporting six or more dependents.

The hearing is postponed until the following week.

Would have Secret Service if Democrat

Interview0 Comments

In an interview with The Hill, Trump claims that he would have Secret Service protection if he was a Democrat.

They’re in no rush because I’m a Republican. They don’t give a s—.  I want to put them on notice because they should have a liability. Personally, I think if Obama were doing as well as me he would’ve had Secret Service [earlier]. I have by far the biggest crowds. Of course I don’t think they’d want anything to happen. But I would think they should be very proactive and want protection for somebody like me that has 20,000 people at any time,” Trump said. “You would think that they would want to be very proactive, but we have not heard from them.

Trump says members of his private security team have had preliminary conversations with the Secret Service, but the Department of Homeland Security says it has not received an official request from the Trump campaign for protection.
