On Air interview
Seacrest interviews Eastwood during On Air With Ryan Seacrest about his role as Luke Collins in the film The Longest Ride.
What’s really special about this movie is, it’s about life and the choices we make and relationships. I think it’s different from some of the other [Nicholas Sparks movies]. It’s really grounded in reality. I think it’s one of his better ones in recent years. Nothing can prepare you for riding a bull. It’s probably the dumbest thing I’ve ever done.
On Air interview
Seacrest interviews Sparks during On Air With Ryan Seacrest about his film The Longest Rid.
I grew up with it [ranching]. I watched it, and then my sister married a guy who had been in a rodeo and lived on a cattle ranch. So the ranch in the novel is pretty much the ranch my sister lived on and here we are.
Prostitution memo to employees
A memo says that Justice Department employees who “accept commercial sex” undermine the agency’s efforts to combat human trafficking and invites blackmail, extortion, and leaks of sensitive information. Holder warns violators are subject to suspensions or termination and managers who fail to report suspected violations will also be subject to discipline. Contractors must also abide by the same rules.
Regardless of whether prostitution is legal or tolerated in a particular jurisdiction, soliciting prostitutes creates a greater demand for human trafficking victims and a consequent increase in the number of minor and adult persons trafficked into commercial sex slavery.
Will announce presidential run on Sunday
Clinton says she will announce her run for President on Sunday on Twitter.
Elle cover
Clinton appears on the cover of the May 2015 issue of Elle magazine. In a feature interview she talks about her life changing after the birth of her baby, her role as an advocate, and the possibility of a female president:
And so when you ask about the importance of having a woman president, absolutely it’s important, for, yes, symbolic reasons—symbols are important; it is important who and what we choose to elevate, and to celebrate. And one of our core values in this country is that we are the land of equal opportunity, but when equal hasn’t yet included gender, there is a fundamental challenge there that, I believe, having our first woman president—whenever that is—will help resolve. And do I think it would make a substantive difference? Yes, we’ve seen again and again, when women have been in positions of leadership, they have had different degrees of success versus their male counterparts, historically being able to build more consensus so that decisions have longer-term effects, whether in economic investments or in building social capital. Who sits around the table matters. And who sits at the head of the table matters, too.
Mother fears sons safety
Odette Santana says she is happy but scared about the attention her son is getting:
I am a little bit in shock, a little bit happy. It’s a lot of mixed emotions. I am scared because all this is new to me, I am worried for his safety…Maybe it will pass.
Will file civil suit
The Scott family says Thursday it is preparing to file a civil suit against Slager and his department. State Rep. Bamberg, who is representing the family as a lawyer:
We will seek every penny of compensation that the family deserves. People in society are fed up with people getting away with things like this, fed up with law enforcement abusing the power that they have…There are still a lot of questions about what transpired especially concerning the other officers.
Family tells Sharpton to stay away

We don’t want another Ferguson type of circus here.
Scott family attorney says said they appreciate Sharpton’s support but “the funeral is only going to be close family members.”
The Reverend Al has called and expressed his support and condolences. The family is very appreciative.
Sharpton says he has been in touch with the Scott family and their lawyers but insists he has no plans to go down.
They are in mourning and we would never come unless they asked. We’re willing to be helpful to the family but only when needed.
On Air interview
Seacrest interviews Phillippe during On Air With Ryan Seacrest about his role as a murder suspect in the TV series Secrets And Lies.
The show goes to some dark places, but there is kind of a sense of fun to it all. What I’m really enjoying is the social media reaction. On Twitter, people like theorizing who did it or who didn’t, telling me how frustrated they are with my character’s choices and how they’re yelling at the TV.
Reuters interview
In an interview with Reuters O’Hagan talks about the emotional aspect of killing his characters
Yeah man, I get really upset. But when you’re writing a book, a sort of moral arbiter intervenes and makes decisions for you. There’s a quivering hysteric under every paragraph called the author, but a novel isn’t just an authorial will. There’s a moment when you feel characters’ deaths are foretold. If they’re real, then, like all of us, there’s a death in there for them somewhere. And we don’t get to decide entirely how it happens.
And how he is inspired by photography:
Photography takes the appearance of a moment and gives it to the future. It’s the most like our lives. It’s the most like our minds, second by second. Now we have photographic devices on us at all times. That wasn’t always the case. I’d love to read a great novel one day about the selfie.
Video witness speaks
Santana, the man who shot the video, is interviewed by NBC News‘ Lester Holt:
I thought about his position, their situation … If I were to have a family member that would happen [to], I would like to know the truth.
In another Interview on MSNBC’s All In with Chris Hayes, Santana also says:
I felt that my life, with this information, might be in danger. I thought about erasing the video and just getting out of the community, you know Charleston, and living some place else. I knew this cop didn’t do the right thing.

Harper’s Bazaar interview
Harper’s Bazaar Magazine interviews Ewers about how she got into the fashion industry.
There was a model in my high school. She was like ‘You’re so pretty. You should come see my agency’. I thought Well, it’s Colombia, of course they like me I’m blonde, I have boobs. But in Germany there are so many blonde, beautiful girls with boobs.
Dazed Cover
Williams appears on the cover of Spring/Summer 2015 issue of Dazed. She talks about sexual taboos, feminism and the way that youngsters are treated by adults in today’s society.
People think we’re f***ing stupid and we don’t know anything about anything.
First head transplant patient
Spiridonov, who suffers from Werdnig-Hoffman muscle wasting disease, announces that he will be Canavero’s first head transplant patient, possibly in 2016. He says he has talked with Canavero through Skype. The cost of the 36-hour operation, which can only be performed in the one of the world’s most advanced operating theaters, has been estimated at $10 million. He says he wants the chance of a new body before he dies.
My decision is final and I do not plan to change my mind…Am I afraid? Yes, of course I am. But it is not just very scary, but also very interesting. But you have to understand that I don’t really have many choices. If I don’t try this chance my fate will be very sad. With every year my state is getting worse. I can hardly control my body now. I need help every day, every minute. I am now 30 years old, although people rarely live to more than 20 with this disease. My muscles stopped any development in childhood. Because of this, they do not grow and the skeleton gets deformed. The back muscles cannot support the skeleton. I do understand the risks of such surgery. They are multiple. We can’t even imagine what exactly can go wrong. I’m afraid that I wouldn’t live long enough to see it happen to someone else.
Rolling Stone interview
Cobain talks to Rolling Stone about her father:
I was around 15 when I realized he was inescapable. Even if I was in a car and had the radio on, there’s my dad. He’s larger than life. and our culture is obsessed with dead musicians. We love to put them on a pedestal. And guess what? “I don’t really like Nirvana that much. Sorry, promotional people, Universal. I’m more into Mercury Rev, Oasis, Brian Jonestown Massacre [laughs]. The grunge scene is not what I’m interested in. But “Territorial Pissings” [on Nevermind] is a (expletive) great song. And “Dumb” [on In Utero] – I cry every time I hear that song. It’s a stripped-down version of Kurt’s perception of himself – of himself on drugs, off drugs, feeling inadequate to be titled the voice of a generation.
Kurt got to the point where he eventually had to sacrifice every bit of who he was to his art, because the world demanded it of him. I think that was one of the main triggers as to why he felt he didn’t want to be here and everyone would be happier without him.” But “in reality, if he had lived I would have had a dad. And that would have been an incredible experience.
Mother: the most horrible thing I’ve ever seen
In an interview with Good Morning America, Walter Scott’s mother, Judy Scott describes viewing the tape of her son’s shooting:
When I looked at that tape, it was the most horrible thing I’ve ever seen, I am very very upset concerning it it. I almost couldn’t look at it. To see my son running defensively and being shot – it just tore my heart to pieces. I pray that this never happens to another person – this has to got to stop…From a child he has been raised in the church. From day one he sang in the choir, he played the drums he would call his mom every single day.
Walter’s brother Anthony describes the moment he arrived at the scene:
The police told me had died. That is all they gave me. I already knew he had been Tasered – I thought that’s what had actually happened. He had gotten Tasered to death. But then my nephew told me he had died.
Welcomes Paul to 2016 Race
Cruz welcomes fellow Republican Paul to 2016 presidential race.
I am glad to welcome my friend Rand Paul into the 2016 GOP primary. Rand is a good friend, and we have worked side by side on many issues. I respect his talent, his passion, and the work he has done for Kentuckians and Americans in the U.S. Senate. His entry into the race will no doubt raise the bar of competition, help make us all stronger, and ultimately ensure that the GOP nominee is equipped to beat Hillary Clinton and to take back the White House for Republicans in 2016.
On Air interview
Seacrest interviews Price Is Right model Arbelaez during On Air With Ryan Seacrest about how she accidentally helped a contestant win a car.
So I went ahead and revealed the first one, [and] I just went on autopilot [and had a] brain fart, completely. After I heard the [buzzer for] the wrong answer, then automatically what we do after that sound is reveal the remaining tags, so the viewers can see which one was the right one. And that’s what I did, ignoring completely that she had two more chances [to guess].
I was the only person that was mortified. [Drew Carey] thought it was hilarious I was in tears, I was mortified. I was like, it’s a big mistake and if I lose my job over this I get it. The producers came to me and they were laughing it up. They thought it was hilarious, they thought it was great.
Upset over Cat Daddy video release
Upton claims Richardson released the video without her consent saying the video was shot for fun, and she never thought it would be uploaded on YouTube. When asked if she stood up to Richardson:
Yes, I did. I was like, ‘That was disrespectful, you could have told me!’ Now, obviously, it’s fine.
Richardson is asked if he feels somewhat responsible for Upton’s rise to fame:
No. Kate was born a star.
