We had American Special Forces with us and one had a heart attack from the stress. At the end of it, I was naked, wrapped in a blanket, snot and blood everywhere. You see a psychiatrist at the end and he asks if you felt fear, and the only time I’d felt fear like it was once when my parents left me somewhere. They are not trying to break you, but they are trying to find what you’re really made of. It is like grapes: they are squeezing you to see what is inside.

I can have my moments and say that I don’t want this life anymore, but I wouldn’t trade it for the world. The good is definitely worth the bad.
