The Talks interview
Amed gives an interview to The Talks. He discusses
whether a fashion show has ever made him cry and who has the power in making a fashion show a success.
I don’t think one can underestimate the ongoing and continued influence of traditional media. They continue to have the most powerful brand, the biggest reach, the authority, the access. All of that enables them to really have a huge influence on the market. But people are spending more and more time engaging with these new-media mavens on a variety of channels, whether it be blogs or social media. The audiences that follow them are extremely emotional and connected to those brands in a way that I don’t think they’re connected to traditional media. The one that is perhaps the least credited, but I think is really, really important now, is the brands themselves.
‘One of the best’
Cooper pays tribute to Simon on CNN.
Bob was for the last five decades, one of the best, in my opinion–the best–in the world in getting a story, telling a story, writing a story, and making it unforgettable. He was a warrior poet who loved life and loved people. He wasn’t somebody who just wrote a story and let other people edit it.
On air interview
Seacrest interviews West during On Air With Ryan Seacrest about the Grammy controversy when he ran on stage during Beck’s acceptance speech for album of the year.
Well first of all, Beck is one of the nicest guys and one of the most respected musicians in the game. So, there’s nothing that I will want to do as a fellow musician to disrespect him in any way. And the weird thing is like, and I don’t feel like I have the right to take away from people’s moments, but the reality of it is and case in point by who came up to me right afterwards is it’s almost like a chiropractor. You know, you just get a little crook out like, Wow, this crook has been there! It’s just a little jolt of truth, right? And then you know, everyone feels better after the fact, or everyone is way more famous after the fact, or everyone sells way more albums after the fact, and then Kanye just goes on being an a**hole to everyone.
On Air interview
Seacrest interviews West during On Air With Ryan Seacrest about his shoe collaboration with Adidas Yeezy 750 Boost. Retailing at $350 dollars, Kanye promises there will be no violence due to under stocking of his shoes.
I just want people to be safe and patient. I know you can run up on this 14-year-old kid and take his Yeezys, but just be patient because we’ll make more Yeezys. Eventually, everybody who wants to get Yeezys will get Yeezys. Adidas has promised me that because there’s so many kids that wanted them, but couldn’t get them. And I talked to the heads at Adidas and they said, ‘We can make them’… Like when I was growing up, kids wanted Jordans. Kids got killed for Jordans. Now that I’m in a position, I’m going to make sure everyone gets Yeezys.
Releases emails
Bush releases emails from the two terms he served as Florida governor. Some of the emails released contain his personal information like his social security number.
I am posting the e-mails of my governorship here. Some are funny; some are serious; some I wrote in frustration. But they’re all here so you can read them and make up your own mind.
Yahoo Style feature
Jones and Redmayne are featured in Yahoo Style. Felicity talks about working with Redmayne for the first time. Redmayne discusses four months of visiting an ALS clinic and if his next role can live up to his role as Stephen Hawking.
Oh, God, I don’t think I can ever think that way. If our dream is to create interesting stories and play interesting people, they don’t come more extraordinary than Stephen and Jane. I think it’s so rare in one’s lifetime to get the opportunity to tell one of those. I feel really lucky for that. I try not to think of my jobs as competitive with each other. Just retaining employment, frankly, is a wonderful thing.
Car crash statement
Jenner releases statement regarding the crash.
My heartfelt and deepest sympathies go out to the family and loved ones, and to all of those who were involved or injured in this terrible accident. It is a devastating tragedy, and I cannot pretend to imagine what this family is going through at this time. I am praying for them. I will continue to cooperate in every way possible.
On Air interview
Seacrest interviews Stewart during On Air With Ryan Seacrest about writing and directing his film Rosewater. The film is about the life and capture of Maziar Bahari by Iranian forces.
He was an Iranian journalist that we met when we sent somebody to Iran to cover the new Axis of Evil. And he spoke with us, along with a couple of other people, and the Iranian officials arrested him in 2009 and showed him the piece he did with our stupid show as evidence that he was a spy. And they kept him in solitary for 118 days. So I thought, ‘Jeez, I could either give him a gift certificate to like a Baskin Robins, or maybe make a movie about him?’ I had to make it up somehow.
Regrets not funding Indiegogo
Livingston talks about not investing in Indiegogo:
We didn’t interview Indiegogo when they applied to YC back in 2007 or 2006. We didn’t even invite them to interview, so I guess that would be a dumb business move. In our defense, they were raising funding for indie movie projects, so it isn’t the same thing as it is now. But I really love their founder, Danae Ringelmann. I think she’s awesome. So I’m equally sad that we didn’t fund her, from a personal perspective.

Fourth, male, victim revealed
The Jezebel article also mentions that there is a fourth Nungesser victim, Adam, who says that he was close friends with Paul during his freshman year in 2011. Adam claims that, in the midst of an emotional conversation in Nungesser’s dorm room, he was pushed onto his bed and sexually assaulted. He claims that after much self-doubt and internal struggle, he finally reported this incident, first to a student society to which both he and Nungesser belonged and then in a formal complaint to the university in the fall of 2014.
Rebuts Facebook messages
Jezebel posts Sulkowicz’s rebuttal to the Facebook messages provided by Nungesser. Sulkowicz:
It is extremely upsetting that Paul would violate me again—this time, with the help of a reporter, Cathy Young. I just wanted to fix the problem of sexual assault on campus—I never wanted this to be an excuse for people to dig through my private Facebook messages and frame them in a way as to cast doubt on my character. It’s unfair and disgusting that Paul and Cathy would treat personal life as a mine that they can dig through and harvest for publicity and Paul’s public image.
This is why I have chosen to release the full conversation, plus the context in which things were said. I want people to have all the information so that they can make informed decisions for themselves, rather than seeing a redacted version of the conversation with bits and pieces picked out to make me look a certain way.
If I had a choice, no one would see my private Facebook messages at all. However, Paul and Cathy have put me in a position where I either do nothing, and they publish the conversation, or I take the lead and publish it on my own. It’s the only thing I can do to maintain a modicum of control over my private life, which becomes more public by the second, thanks to reporters who don’t treat me with respect.
Flare interview
Claflin gives an interview to Flare magazine. He talks about his role in Love, Rosie, his favorite romantic comedies, and advice he’s gotten.
The best advice is be yourself and don’t let love change you. Because I think people get so wrapped up in it, they kind of lose themselves, who they are and what’s important to them. But I think love should support you—it should make you a better you, not change you.
Bloomberg Business interview
Gouw and Fonstad talk to Chang and Johnson on Bloomberg West about how Aspect Ventures looks to help start companies for the long-term and where they see growth. Gouw:
This is our entrepreneurial thing. It’s like when entrepreneurs see a vision and you are both called to something. And we think this is a great time to be focused on seed and early-stage investing around mobility as a theme, through the stack, from enterprise to consumer. And to work with someone you know for two decades.
Fonstad:
There is an explosion of opportunity in the mobile space, our firm will be focussing exclusively in the mobile space, but we define it much more broadly than you’ve seen in the press in the past. We think that that mobile will infuse and touch every aspect of the software stack.
Nungesser denies raping Sulkowicz
In a feature story on The Daily Beast, Nungesser says he did not rape Sulkowicz. According to Sulkowicz, after starting consensual sex (their third sexual encounter), Nungesser suddenly and brutally assaulted her, then picked up his clothes and left without a word, leaving her stunned and shattered on the bed. However, according to Nungesser, they briefly engaged in anal intercourse by mutual agreement, then went on to engage in other sexual activity and fell asleep. He says that he woke up early in the morning and went back to his own room while Sulkowicz was still sleeping. Nungesser says that for weeks after that night, he and Sulkowicz maintained a cordial relationship, and says she seemingly never indicated that anything was amiss. He then describes a series of friendly texts made by Sulkowicz after the alleged incident (these are documented here, and have been included in the newsline at the appropriate points).
The Talk interview
Dame Edna reflects on her 60-year career in entertainment and River’s influence on her success in showbusiness.
The person who inspired me was Joan Rivers, she was a very, very dear friend of mine…..
Skin lightening scandal
InStyle responds to fans who believe that Washington’s skin is lightened on her cover photo.
We are super fans of Kerry Washington here at InStyle. To feature her on the cover of our March spring fashion issue is both an honor and a delight. We have heard from those who have spoken out about our newsstand cover photograph, concerned that Kerry’s skin tone was lightened. While we did not digitally lighten Kerry’s skin tone, our cover lighting has likely contributed to this concern. We understand that this has resulted in disappointment and hurt. We are listening, and the feedback has been valuable. We are committed to ensuring that this experience has a positive influence on the ways in which we present all women going forward.
Admits Helicopter story inaccurate
Williams admits that a report he made in 2003 is not true. At the time he stated that that the helicopter he was flying in came under attack, but he now says that his helicopter never actually came under fire, that he confused his aircraft with another. Williams insists that he did not deliberately lie:
No, we never came under direct enemy fire to the aircraft.
SI swimsuit cover
Davis appears on the cover of the Sports Illustrated swimsuit edition which is unveiled on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.
I told my mom there was no way I’d get the cover. I told her ‘They do beaches for covers and I’m on a farm. There’s no way. It’s not possible.
Love magazine appearance
Jenner dons a blonde wig for a photo shoot appearing in the Spring/Summer isssue of Love magazine. Jenner discusses her penchant for colored tresses with Love senior editor, Jack Sunnucks.
To be honest, in the beginning [the family] didn’t like it, they thought it was, like, crazy when I dyed my hair blue. When I cut off my hair. And then when I dyed my hair black or whatever, they came to me and were like, ‘We miss the blue hair, this is crazy,’ and I was like, ‘I miss it too!’.
