You want to be Oprah so bad that you would kill for it and you will kill anyone to achieve success. Sister, you will never be another Oprah. Oprah lifted her audience up and exuded an air of class.

I am done. I’m quitting singing. Well I have to do shows here and there. But I’m not going to do any more albums. But I won’t tour a lot. Not a lot. Just sparingly. Touring makes it a health reason why I’m done. But I have fallen out of love with it. It’s weird. I don’t know what to say when I hear songs. They don’t impact me, they don’t make me feel engrossed any more.

He wanted me to be a beauty queen so he said, I’m gonna put you in this thing and he did. I showed up at the pageant and wore my prom dress that I had just worn to prom and miraculously I won it. It put me on a journey that led me to meet my manager that I’ve known for 25 years that put me here to be able to sit here and talk to you. So it’s kind of like what our movie is about, things happen very poignant and defining things happen in our life and at the time we don’t know what this is going to mean. It seemed so frivolous at the time, a beauty pageant winner, okay but it led to a lifetime relationship.

You know I think the energy was first and the look came second. One of the great things about getting a new studio, first of all, we’re HD, we also needed a bigger space so we can fit more people now in our studio audience and our staff now has bigger areas to do their magic. As far as the energy, the energy comes from within. It starts with me as the host, and then the audience show up in their colorful clothing and they clap and they say it like they mean it. So no, the energy of the show has always been high. The studio is just more room for us to be energetic in!

I wear wigs. Can you tell from this angle? I have a gym wig because first of all you don’t wear makeup, second of all that wig in the picture here is what it is. I had left my gym wig at home that day, but I had a bouffant so I took the bouffant down and I put it into the two pony tails because you don’t want to sweat your skin and wig. But there is a wig for every occasion.

I had worked at CBS news for 10 years. I am the biggest Oprah fan, huge. So she was coming into the studio to tape an interview to post tape an interview after the show. I had tried to also get her to do a separate interview for a series I was doing about talk show queens of the day. Then her people politely declined. I kept asking and they kept declining. I am so crazy and my mouth has gotten me into so much trouble. So during the interview I just say keep rolling the tape we will do the second interview. I lied to Oprah. People are asking what are you doing. I’m like I don’t know whats going on? Later that day I get a phone call in my office It’s Oprah.
