We work for each other, and I’m not trying to pick at them at all, maybe I am, (laughs) throw a little wrench in their game, but it seems like they (The Wyatts) work for Bray. I think there’s a difference in the bond that we (The Shield) have and the bond that they have. Ours is 100 percent consensual, it wasn’t forced, we’re not drinking Kool-Aid, we’re not being coaxed into doing anything, we believe in something, and we go after it.

Wrestling101.com interview
Striker gives his thoughts about making the transition from a wrestler to an announcer:
It was circumstances, I believe it was Taz or Mick Foley that was leaving and WWE needed a commentator and it was probably number 12 on the list of things they had to handle that day, and it was Joey Styles that mentioned that I would be interested and thought I would be a good fit. The one thing about WWE is that they are all about opportunity, and they said let’s give the kid an opportunity, I put on the headsets in Atlanta and it just seemed to be a natural fit. I still brought my wrestling boots with me every single week, that is what I was taught and I still have them in my bag right now and I’m sure I’ll get some more use out of them now.
The Art of Wrestling interview
Sammartino is a guest on The Art of Wrestling to discuss his legendary career and how production on television has changed.

We had a good little act with three rookies, and they just threw us right out there with the main eventers.
