Nine new cast members revealed
During the Game of Thrones panel at San Diego Comic-Con, HBO plays a video clip announcing nine new members to join Season 5’s cast. The cast members include: Alexander Siddig (Star Trek: Deep Space Nine; 24), Toby Sebastian, Nell Tiger Free, DeObia Oparei (Moulin Rouge!; Alien 3), Enzo Cilenti (Rome); Jessica Henwick (Silk), Rosabell Laurenti Sellers, Keisha Castle-Hughes (Whale Rider), and Jonathan Pryce (Pirates of the Caribbean; Brazil).
Will direct The Destroyer
Black is on board to direct The Destroyer, an adaptation from the long running adventure book series by Warren Murphy, from a script by Jim Urls, the writer of the adaptation of Fight Club and James Mullaney who co-authored and was the sole writer of the series until its end in 2008. Joins Downton Abbey charity film
A representative for the show’s UK network, ITV, says the actor will appear in a Downton Abbey-related film made for ITV’s charity program, Text Santa. The annual fundraiser raises money to support six UK charities, including Alzheimer’s Society and Teenage Cancer Trust. Clooney will not appear in any Downton Abbey episodes.

Fincher comments on why he cast Pike in Gone Girl:
Rosamund was someone that I had seen in four or five different movies over 10 years, and I never got a bead on her. I never got a sense of who she was. And I pride myself on being able to watch actors and sort of know instinctively what their utility belt is, and I don’t have that with Rosamund. I didn’t know what she was building off of. There was an opacity there and it was interesting.

Fans petition casting
Fans of the 1989 cyberpunk manga Ghost in the Shell have been petitioning Scarlett’s casting as the Japanese cyborg heroine, Major Motoko Kusanagi, for a 2017 live-action film.
An online petition created by Julie Rodriguez has already amassed 38K signatures demanding DreamWorks Studios replace Scarlett with an Asian actress.

Lawless joins the cast of Ash Vs. Evil Dead as Ruby, a mysterious figure who believes Ash is the source of the Evil outbreaks.
Joins ‘IO’
Fanning signs on for a role in the sci-fi film IO. She will play one of the last people on Earth, who is trying to find a cure for the dying planet before the final shuttle from Earth leaves her stranded. Fanning is set to star alongside actor Diego Luna in the film, which will go into production this year.
To reprise role in reboot
In Heroes Reborn, Oka reprises the role of Hiro Nakamura, which he played in the original Heroes series.
I’m excited to return to my Heroes roots. Hiro Nakamura was such an inspirational role to play, and I’m hoping the fans will enjoy seeing him back on TV.
Becomes Daily Show host
Comedy Central announces that Noah is the new host of The Daily Show. Comedy Central president:

Cast in Blade Runner sequel
Gosling is in negotiations to star in the Blade Runner sequel. The roles is as-yet unknown, though Variety says the likelihood of him playing a son-type character to Deckard seems the safest bet. Harrison Ford is already on board to reprise his role as Rick Deckard.
Will play Lumiere
McGregor will play the candelabra Lumiere in Disney’s upcoming live-action Beauty and the Beast. McGregor will join Emma Watson as Belle, Dan Stevens as the Beast, Luke Evans as Gaston and Ian McKellan as Cogsworth.
Casting confirmed
Radcliffe is confirmed to star in Game Changer, a film about Houser, Grand Theft Auto’s creator. Paxton is confirmed to costar.
