Lipovsky directs this horror movie about a group of people living in a world controlled and dominated by zombies. They are living in fear and trying to survive in a life crisis that seems impossible for them to win back what they have lost. C0-starring Jesse Metcalfe, Meghan Ory and Virginia Madson.
I really like the tone of the game. It’s definitely got its dark scary beats, but ultimately it’s an adventure film. Every time I get scared or laugh while playing, I make a note to add it to the script. Tonally it will be like “Indiana Jones with Zombies.” Fun, scary, dramatic action.
Sings Star Trek theme
On the Late Late Show, Ferrell sings the Star Trek theme after mentioning that he liked to begin his stand-up routine in the nerdiest way possible.
I would start my act by singing the theme to Star Trek from beginning to end.
The Forger
In the heist film directed by Philip Martin, Travolta plays the role of an art forger who must forge a painting by Claude Monet for a crime syndicate who plan to steal it from a museum, so he can secure an early release from prison. Co-starring Marcus Thomas, Abigail Spencer and Travis Aaron Wayde. On learning to paint:
I went to Hong Kong, and I studied with a famous instructor there, and then in the US with another gentleman. I had studied watercolour years ago because I loved Hopper, Edward Hopper, and my grandfather was a painter, and my brother paints. I took it up as well. But I really wanted to understand what a forger might feel he has to do to duplicate that.
‘Not the only gay person in the NFL’
Speaking at the Dallas Holocaust Museum Upstander Speaker series, Sam claims he is not the only gay player in the NFL. He says that other gay NFL players have reached out to him.
I am not the only gay person in the NFL. I’m just saying there is a lot of us. I respect the players that did reach out to me and had the courage to tell me that they were also gay, but they do not have the same courage as I do to come out before I even played a down in the NFL…Was it a risky move? Yes. But at that moment, the reason why I came out is I thought it wasn’t going to be a big deal. Maybe I was naive. Maybe I thought it was 2014, and people will understand that there’s gay NFL players. There’s gay athletes everywhere. But I was clearly wrong. It was a huge deal.
The players who have reached out to me and told me about their sexual orientation, it just means a lot. But I will never say anything about who they are, what teams they are [on]. I’m just saying there’s some famous people, and I’m not the only one.
Warns of climate refugees, 500-year droughts
Kerry, speaking to a group of US ambassadors at the Global Chiefs of Mission Conference, warns them that in the future they will be dealing with climate refugees. Kerry also warned of five-hundred year long droughts.
It is a national security threat, it is a health threat, it’s an environmental threat, it’s an economic threat. We’re spending billions upon billions — $110 billion last year on the damages that occurred because of the increased level of major weather events around the world; droughts that are 500-year droughts, not 100-year droughts; places that have less and less water; food that is less produced where it used to be.
Ninety-seven percent of all the scientists for 20 years tell us unequivocally that this is happening and happening now, and humans are causing it, and we have a responsibility to respond to it.
Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt
Krakowski’s stars in the Netflix comedy show Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt. The show, about a woman who comes to New York after spending 15 years in a cult, also stars Ellie Kemper. The show is co-written by Tina Fey and Robert Carlock who worked with Krakowski on their previous show 30 Rock.
“I’m in! Sign me up!” I said yes over email without knowing anything about the show. I didn’t even know anything about the character. I knew Tina would have an amazing part for me.
Mentors finalists on ’80s night
George mentors the finalists for ’80s night. He also performs Karma Chameleon with them.
I’ve had a heart warming time working with the kids from Idol. It’s always great to be able to share you’re experiences with such talented artists starting out on their journey. There’s nothing more gratifying for me than to be able to help, advise and share, and this fantastic show allows that to happen.
MI Rogue Nation trailer
Cruise appears in the trailer for the fifth Mission Impossible film. The film is released July 31.
Re-enacts movies
Hank re-enacts all his movies in seven minutes with James Corden on The Late Late show.
Late Late Show debut
Corden makes his debut as the host of The Late Late Show.
I promise you we will have fun on this show and I promise we will do everything we can to put a smile on your face before or, let’s be honest, more likely while you fall asleep at night.
‘It was beautiful’
After the 60-54 win over Virginia by MSU’s basketball team, Johnson speaks to the entire team.
I just want to say, when you’re in a battle, your seniors gotta step up, all right?…See, you stepped up. And even when [Denzel] Valentine got in foul trouble, you didn’t waver. You kept going…And I think Coach was right: the defense, helping each other, talking — talking. It was beautiful. It was beautiful to watch. And even when they came back and made their run, you stuck to the game plan, you executed and you stuck together.
Stands ‘unapologetically’ with Israel
While speaking to a crowd at Liberty University, Cruz announces he’s running for President. He also criticizes President Obama.
Instead of a president who boycotts Prime Minister Netanyahu, imagine a president who stands unapologetically with the nation of Israel.
Quits world tour
The band says Malik quit the tour due to stress. He is to return home to Britain as the rest of the band go on to play shows from the Philippines to South Africa, through Europe and the United States.
Zayn has been signed off with stress and is flying back to the UK to recuperate. The band wish him well and will continue with their performances in the Philippines and Indonesia.
‘The price of shame’
Lewinsky delivers a talk on cyber bullying and calls for a more compassionate internet at TED 2015 conference.
When my story broke it broke online. It was one of the first times that the traditional news had been usurped by the internet for a major news story. I went from being a private figure to being a publicly humiliated one worldwide. There were mobs of virtual stone-throwers. I was branded a tart, a slut, a whore, a bimbo. I lost my reputation and my dignity and I almost lost my life. Seventeen years ago there was no name for it, but now we call it cyberbullying or online harassment.
Every day online, people – especially young people who are not developmentally equipped to handle this – are so abused and humiliated that they can’t imagine living to the next day. And some don’t.
‘We have a fun deficit in America’
Clinton talks about having sleepaway camps for adults and more relationship-building in Washington, at the American Camp Association of New York and New Jersey’s Tri-State CAMP Conference.
We really need camps for adults. None of the serious stuff … I think we have a fun deficit in America…If you don’t build relationships with people and all you do is show up to argue or show up to point fingers, you can’t get anything done.
SXSW talk
Teller talks at SXSW about the demise of Glass, and the value of failure:
[Glass] was one of those things that we had to get out into the world as soon as possible. We learned a lot of things about the tech, like the battery. It was also valuable for social testing, and I’m really grateful for all of the fearless pioneers who went on that adventure with us…The great decision was to do the Explorer program. The thing that we did not do well is that we allowed, and sometimes even encouraged, too much attention to the program.
If you’re not failing at least some of the time, you could be learning faster. It’s not about going out and not having these bumps and scrapes, it’s about getting full value from them.
SXSW appearance
Rousey appears at the South by Southwest Festival in Austin, Texas as representative of UFC and talks about the women perception in sports.
I think that women fighting in the Octagon really affects everything that women see as possible for themselves. It’s not about trying to find a role that already exists that you can fit into. Now it’s trying to dream up all the different roles you can create yourself. Just like we did in fighting, we can do in every single profession out there.
Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt
Fey co-writes Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt with Carlock. The show, about a woman who comes to New York after spending 15 years in a cult, stars Ellie Kemper and Jane Krakowski from Fey and Carlock’s previous show 30 Rock. Fey:
My producing partner, Robert Carlock [who coproduced 30 Rock], and I wanted to write something for Ellie; she’s adorable but also has strength. We live in a strange world in which people, literally and metaphorically, like to lock up women. And we liked the idea of Ellie playing a survivor and starting over.
