Cavallari guest stars on Veronica Mars. Cavallari plays a closeted lesbian cheerleader that asks character Veronica for help when she is threatened to be outed.

When they told me they wanted me to play a lesbian I thought it would be great. It’s such a perfect role for my first real acting job because it’s just so obviously different from what I am and that’s exactly why I wanted to do it.

Cavallari and Conrad are depicted as high school enemies and fight over a boy—Stephen Colletti—they both are interested in.

It really was presented to us like a documentary. Nobody thought it was going to blow up like it did … definitely a different way to grow up.

Conrad stars in MTV reality television series Laguna Beach: The Real Orange County. The series follows Conrad and a group of her friends and classmates of Laguna Beach High School for three seasons. Other than Conrad the show’s main characters include Stephen Colletti, Kristin Cavallari and Lo Bosworth.

It was just a big group of friends being themselves. I think it’s impossible to do that in this day and age of reality TV.

Hawking

Stars in the TV movie Hawking – a drama documenting the life and work of Professor Stephen Hawking, a man whom, despite being diagnosed with motor neurone disease at the age of 21, has managed to shake the scientific community with his theories on the nature of the universe. Despite being a reputably private person, Stephen Hawking meets with members of the film team and with Cumberbatch to discuss the trials and triumphs of his life.

It’s really odd when you meet somebody you’re about to play, and Stephen must have been as terrified by that as I was. […] The first thing you get when you meet someone with motor neurone disease is the complete person. You see past the disability instantly to all the rich complexities of a human character.
