Hoover says that living in San Francisco helps, but that meeting people online can be more important for a startup founder:

No matter what you do beforehand, there’s nothing like going onstage. You always feel like you’ve been run over by a truck the next day, no matter what. I’ve tried it both ways: I’ll get in shape on tour or I’ll work out for a month [before]. I’ll tell you, it’s very athletic.

While I am definitely conscious of all the different types of people who listen to my music, I really set out to make the most personal, honest, and best album I could make. I needed to free myself from the pressures and expectations of what I thought I should say or be, and just speak from the heart. Being that I am a woman in a male-dominated society, the feminist mentality rang true to me and became a way to personalize that struggle.

It doesn’t get any better than that, I truly enjoyed my runs with WCW but with the WWF you really got a chance to be put in a position to see what you could really do as individual as far as selling tickets and merchandise. I know a lot of people in the States won’t be too familiar with him. They should know that thanks to him and his promotion, the stars of today and yesterday had a place to go work and groom themselves by learning a different style. They were able to mature because it was consistent — one or two matches every week. I think that’s his biggest contribution.
Harper’s Bazaar interview
Johansson gives an interview to Harper’s Bazaar Magazine about her role in the film Under The Skin.
I think the film that we made is so different from the book that it probably wouldn’t have made any difference at all if I had read it. And I didn’t want to have any kind of impression of that at all because I had to work from the script. Over a few years that Jonathan Glazer and I were having these conversations and the core of the story became stronger and the purpose was clearer in his mind and the idea of the two of us collaborating became more of a reality. I really wanted to work with Jonathan Glazer and I would give that kind of commitment anyway if I really wanted to work with somebody. When I know I want to do something and I want it, I’ll get it or I’ll at least try. But I think part of that comes from having spent 20 years in the industry and still being that kid that wants the part. To me, I always feel like that if it doesn’t work out and I don’t get the part it’s because the director and I had different ideas and that makes sense to me. Under The Skin was always open and I didn’t have to convince Jonathan.
