Meir Kahane shot and killed age 58
Kahane is shot and killed by an assassin following his delivery of a speech to a Jewish group at the New York Marriott East Side hotel in Manhattan. As he greets fans he is approached by a man from the crowd who shoots him at close range with a .357- caliber pistol. Although the assassin is attired as a religious Jew, he is actually an Egyptian-born Muslim American named El Sayyid Nosair.
Guerrero, Lara marry
Guerrero marries Lara in a private ceremony in an undisclosed location attended only by family and close friends. The pair met while Eddie was performing in Mexico, Texas and California organizations.

Ferrell graduates from the University of Southern California with a degree in sports broadcasting. He is a member of the fraternity Delta Tau Delta. Ferrell says his time at the school prepared him for a life in comedy:

Drops out of college

During my senior year at Marquette University, I was offered a full-time job at the American Red Cross. I thought I would squeeze in a course here or there and finish things off in a year or two, but then Tonette and I got married. I think the film owes a great inspiration to…A Guy Named Joe. But it’s not really a remake. It was the basis for a new story.
