The group releases, Postcard From Paris, from their self titled album. The three Perry siblings co-wrote this song with DioGuardi. Perry:
Kara was in Nashville writing with several country songwriters and artists. That was really wonderful – she only had a couple of hours to write. Our A&R lady was a friend of with Kara. She called. Kara had a free afternoon if we would care to write. She was our career matchmaker. The funny thing about writing relationships is you don’t really know how it’s going to turn out. You could write song or you could end up going to get a coffee together. Luckily, it worked and we wrote ‘Postcard From Paris.’ Kara has been so great. She’s almost taken on big sister role for us. She’s really given us a lot of advice and helped us out. We sat around and wrote the song. Everybody was bouncing lyrics off each other – the song was finished in hour and a half. We got a bowl of tomato soup and later got to hang out with her in her house in L.A.
Over You
Lambert releases the video for the song that she co-wrote with her husband Blake Shelton. The song is about the loss of Shelton’s brother who was killed in a car accident when he was a teenager. Shelton explains what brought the couple to write the single:
Because we were talking about my brother. And that’s how those things should happen, probably. It was really a way of healing, and honoring my brother’s memory. And the fact that people were into the song … that’s a thrill for me.
Good Girl
The artist releases, Good Girl, from Blown Away.
We went into the writing session thinking we need to write something that just kicks butt, and Chris DeStefano, I call him a little mad scientist on all of his Pro Tools stuff — he, like, plays every instrument you could possibly think of, and he, like, started makin’ this track, and we started…we just went. It was fast. We wrote it fast, and it’s just fun! It’s upbeat, it’s fun, you stomp your feet, and you can dance to it. It’s got this really rockin’ verse, and this really, like, rockin’ country chorus. So, it’s just a really cool song
It’s Time
Imagine Dragons releases the single, It’s Time, from their album, Night Visions. Reynolds:
We’ve been around for about three-and-a-half years and spent a lot of time on the road, living out of a suitcase, barely scraping by. To get to a point where you see things moving like this, where the song is on radio and TV, is the most humbling experience.
Want U Back
Lloyd releases third single titled Want U Back. The single is featured on her first record Sticks and Stones. The song also is a collaboration by writers Savan Kotecha and Shellback.
It’s basically a track from lots of different girls’ stories out there. A lot of people are telling me they can relate to the track and they’ve been in that situation, but it’s also got an element of fun in it.
Radioactive
Imagine Dragons releases the single, Radioactive, from their album, Night Visions. Reynolds says that he was coming out of a bout of depression and had a new awakening and vigor for life when he wrote the song:
That’s the general thing where that song came from. There’s more specifics to it, but that’s the basic, general idea.
Part of Me

The artist releases his single, Drunk On You, from his album, Tailgates And Tanlines.
It’s a song that a buddy of mine, Rodney Clawson, [co-wrote] and the second I heard it I knew it was something I was going to cut. We feel it will be a fun summertime song.
Fly Over States
The artist releases Fly Over States, from his album, My Kinda Party.
I grew up in Georgia, on the outskirts of Macon, surrounded by a lot of farmland. That’s what I know. For any artist, if you can sing about things you’ve experienced, then you can convey that message to your fans.
(For instance) that song Fly Over States – I heard those kinds of comments when I was flying out to promote my music. I’d hear businessmen from one of the coasts comment as we flew over some small town, ‘I wonder why anyone would want to live there?’
Banjo
The band releases, Banjo, from their album, Changed. DeMarcus describes the song meaning as:
A sentiment about getting away from it all, getting away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life and sort of breaking out and finding a spot way out in the country and drivin’ and drivin’ and drivin’ until you go so far you start to hear a banjo.
The One That Got Away
Perry releases the single, The One That Got Away, from her album, Teenage Dream. Perry:
I’m so pleased to select The One That Got Away as my sixth single because this song shows a very different side of me that I haven’t shown with my past singles on this record.
I think that everyone can relate to this song. I wrote this song about when you promise someone forever, but you end up not being able to follow through.
With Ur Love
Lloyd releases second single titled With Ur Love. The track is from her album Sticks and Stones and features a collaboration with Mike Posner.
I actually get to sing (in this song) instead of jumping around like an idiot.
Breaking Down
The band releases their song, Breaking Down, from their album, Ceremonials.
You Gonna Fly

Thicke releases his first single, Love After War, from his album with the same name, Love After War.
Red Solo Cup
Keith releases his single, Red Solo Cup, from his album, Clancy’s Tavern.
The song is basically a bunch of frat party people getting hammered, drinking out of a red Solo cup and all the stupid stuff they do. They actually praise the red Solo cup for all the important things and usages that it has. You’re going to find it really stupid but you’ll be singing it the next day when you wake up.
Shake It Out
The band releases their song, Shake It Out, from their album, Ceremonials. Welch:
I wanted to just shake something out, shake out these regrets, shake out these things that haunt you. It was one of those songs that came in about half an hour and when you’ve got a hangover, it is almost like a hangover cure. You’re like, thank you!
