It’s more than just shooting the ball. Our defense was better and our offensive execution (was better). I think I got more shots because of the tempo of the game that we played at. We played downhill, we set screens; we’re tough when we play like that.

Coach Popovich on Clippers loss:

We lacked a lot of discipline. We didn’t execute sharply enough in what we wanted to strategy-wise or just in general basketball play.

Parker:

Yeah, (we lost our focus) a little bit at the end of the third quarter. We made a lot of fouls that we could have prevented.

Aldridge on Grizzlies:

Warriors 109-98 Pelicans Game 4

Match Report0 Comments

The Warriors win 109-98. Curry scores 39 points, Thompson scores 25 points and Green scores a double-double (22 points and ten rebounds). Davis scores a double-double (36 points and 11 rebounds), Gordon scores 29 points and Anderson scores 10 points for the Pelicans. Golden States win West First Round Series 4-0.

Davis on Curry:

I knew he was crafty, I mean, a great shooter. There’s nothing you can do. You try to pressure him and run him off the (3-point) line and he’ll hit incredible shots in the lane. You back off so he won’t drive, he’s going to hit a 3. So you’ve got to pick your poison and he’s a tough player to guard. That’s why he’s (a candidate) for MVP.

Curry on Golden State sweeps series:

I’m proud of the way we played, the way we competed. Four in a row is a good feeling. We’re going to rest up.

Coach Williams on Curry:

What we’ve been through playing against Steph sometimes, it’s not fair. Steph is like, he’s on a different level – some of the shots he makes, his command of the ball, his ability to finish. The moment doesn’t bother him.

Bucks 92-90 Bulls Game 3

We thought we got better tonight. We found ourselves with a `W.

Bayless on Dudley:

I was curious. I just wanted to know, Are you going to look for this?.

Coach Thibodeau on Game 3 loss:

I’m not going to put it on that last play. There were a lot of other plays throughout the course of the game. When you turn the ball over like that you’re not going to have success.

Gasol on Bulls turnovers:

But that definitely didn’t lose us the game. Mistakes will happen – we just made too many of them throughout the game.

Horford:

From the beginning of the game, they had more of an edge than we did. This was a big game for them and they came out and handled their business.

Korver on Game 3:

I didn’t get any good looks early and I tried to force a couple late. I need to be better on Monday.

They say it is not uncommon to have that in bucking bulls, especially if you have one that bucks really, really hard…It is relief. It is good news. I haven’t eaten. I haven’t slept. I haven’t sat still for three days. I have done nothing, but worry about it. It could have been a whole lot worse. A fracture in the back and six weeks, I can live with that.

Mick E Mouse has the entire summer to recover, and as long as there are no setbacks in his recovery process, he will next buck on Aug. Duncan on Leonard:

He continues to impress me every time he’s out there. He can put on a show like that in a situation like this. It’s not only great for us, but it’s impressive to watch.

Coach Rivers on Game 3 Loss:

We’ve had this happen a couple of times this year, we lose our spirit because we can’t make shots. I thought that’s what happened as the game went on. Every time we missed a shot, we played less and less defense.

Leonard:

I’m just doing whatever it takes to help the team win the game. Tony (Parker) did a good job getting off early and just created opportunities for me knocking down shots and I just got a rhythm.

Coach Popovich on Leonard:

He has really progressed by leaps and bounds on both ends of the floor. He’s turned into a fine offensive player, as well as a defensive player. He’s not a one-trick pony kind of guy. He’s something else.

My adrenaline is through the roof right now. … I’m just enjoying the moment. I love playoff basketball. I love everything about it. At this point in my career, I’m savoring these moments, because I don’t know how many more of these moments I’m going to have.

Coach Casey on Pierce:

You’re not playing against chopped liver. Paul Pierce won a championship. He knows how to play.

Coach Wittman on Wizards perfomance:

That’s us. We’re not a two-man team.

Rockets 130-128 Mavericks Game 3

He was a beast. He was a beast. Go ahead.

Howard:

Tonight wasn’t my night to score. I was OK with that. But the one thing that I can always control is the paint and just try to get every rebound.

Nowitzki:

It was an up-and-down game, shot-making and play-making all over the place. This ranks up there with the toughest playoffs losses I’ve had in my long playoff career.

Coach McHale:

It was a hell of a game if you like offense. If you like defense, maybe not so much.

We haven’t been in that position a lot this year, but mental toughness and resilience is probably (among) our best traits. It was an amazing way to finish the game.

Against a team like this, you can’t relax. “You’ve got to keep being aggressive and we missed shots. … We’ve got to do a better job executing and following our game plan, especially late in the game.
