Maxim Interview
Phoenix talks about what made her interested in starring in the movie Spud:
Spud follows the diary of a young boy in an all-boys boarding school, and I went to an all-girls school. Similarly both the character Spud and I had some interesting things happen while growing up. Funny enough the story of Spud originates in Natal, where I grew up, just being back home in the Drakensberg with my family and old school friends was so magical and it brought back some fun memories.
Jennifer Hudson interview
Winfrey interviews Jennifer Hudson about her career, family life and future goals.
It’s OK. I’m fine with that. Either way, I really want a little girl and munchkin wants a little sister. He tells me every day, Mommy, I want a baby sister.
The Talks interview
Washington gives an interview to The Talks. He discusses whether he likes playing the bad guy, his spirituality, and turning down roles because they typecast him.
Absolutely. My career is based on saying no. Sidney Poitier told me many, many years ago that the first four or five movies that you do will determine how you’re perceived in the business. So I was very blessed that the second movie I did was with Norman Jewison, the third movie I did was with Sidney Lumet, and the fourth movie I did was Cry Freedom with Richard Attenborough, for which I was nominated for the first time. I was off to the races. There were other movies that I could have done and I didn’t do.
The Art of Wrestling interview
Regal is a guest on The Art of Wrestling to discuss wrestling, England and not being a sports fan.
Absolutely no football. I never watched any other sport in my life. It was just wrestling and British comedy. I never had any interest in anything else.
Rebel Wilson interview
Wilson guests on Conan to promote her new film, Bachelorette. She also talks about her family, as well as her technique to mastering the American accent. She also reads a disgruntled neighbor’s letter addressed to herself and her roommate, Matt Lucas.
We got a letter in the mailbox, which I brought in today. It was a little bit disturbing because it’s anonymous for a start, and I’ll just read it out to you in how I think the person who wrote it sounds like.
Shape Magazine interview
Andrews speaks to Shape Magazine about her workout routine.
I try to stay in shape just to handle things like the stress of a job or everyday life. Working with men for the past 15 years, you end up eating and drinking like a guy. So I have no choice to basically have it in my mind that I have to work out every day. That is the way I have programmed myself. And if I don’t work out one day, I’ll just say to myself, that’s just one day that’s OK, that’s the way it worked out. But I try to do something every single day.
I just moved to New York City in January and I’m loving the variety of workout classes! I really love classes because again, I’m a competitive person, so I like to be around people that push me, and I feel like classes really do that. I’ve been doing Barre, as well as Physique fifty seven, which I’m really enjoying. Because I’m so tall, I want to work on my legs and obviously every woman wants to work on their rear end and their core, so I feel like those classes are perfect for me. They really target those areas. Plus, I’ve danced my whole life so I’ve got that dance background. On the days I can’t go to classes, I try to take a run or hit the treadmill. I’m not much of a runner but I do need cardio.
Wendy Williams interview
Fellow talk show host Williams guests on Conan and talks about the ups and downs of being a tall celebrity, and her massive collection of wigs.
Tori Spelling interview
Seacrest interviews Spelling during On Air With Ryan Seacrest and asks about her pregnant bikini photo.
It was the funniest response that I got so many people commenting on how a pregnant woman shouldn’t be showing all of that. I’m like: ‘Showing what?’ Just because my stomach sticks out further than another woman in a bikini? Why should we have to wear certain things because we’re pregnant? And I think that’s ridiculous. I’m proud of my body. I love that my body is changing and growing. I have one or two of the maternity one pieces, of course, but if you can fit into it and you feel good about the bikini, put it on.
Gabby Douglas interview
Gabby Douglas sits down for a one on one interview with Winfrey on Oprah’s Next Chapter.
I was getting racist jokes. I was being isolated from the group. I’d come home at night and cry my eyes out because What did I do to deserve this? Gabrielle confessed to Oprah. She shared one of the ugliest jokes made to her face. One of my teammates was like. Can you scrape the bar? and they were like Well why doesn’t Gabby do it? She’s our slave.
Maxim Interview
Rousey talks about her Strikeforce Bantamweight Title fight against Miesha Tate:
I knew her arm was out, but she was still trying to escape with a bridge, so I was trying to put her arm in my other hand. I was sitting up trying to punch her with my right hand when she finally gave up. I didn’t feel bad about it—I was reacting to the situation. I treat the fight like it’s up for grabs until the very end.
Wrestling101.com interview
Darsow speaks about winning the WWE World Tag Team Titles at Wrestlemania:
To win the tag team titles at WrestleMania, that was the biggest thing that could have happened in my career. We hold the record for a single reign and also our combined reign of all three title runs we had. I don’t know if it will ever be broken because they really don’t have tag teams anymore, so those records might stand for a long time to come. I don’t know if Vince will ever have two guys that can be the tag team champions for that long any more.
Kelsey Grammer interview
Winfrey interviews Kelsey Grammer on divorce, murder of his sister, Karen and the loss of his twin son.
I stayed because I’m a stubborn cuss. I was not in it, or happy in it for a long time. It was pretty much over as soon as it began.
The Carson Show Interview
Lauper appears in the The Carson Show and talks about marriage, cooking, kids, Japan and performs Change of Heart.
I love to be here with my friend Johnny, can you control my energy.
The Talks interview
Van Sant gives an interview to The Talks. He discusses what he still takes photos of and why youth plays a big role in his work.
Somehow it was always the young characters that I related to the most. I remember how even when I first started I was writing stories that were set in high school. At that time, in the ’70s, there weren’t any youth-oriented films at all – except for a Disney film or something.
WrestlingINC.com interview
Layfield talks about returning to WWE for Raw’s 1000th episode:
I really have enjoyed coming back and doing stuff and I’ve really enjoyed watching the shows recently. So, that’s a big part of it, you know. It’s been a part of my entire life, I’ve wanted to be a wrestler since I was a little kid. I don’t think that ever leaves you. Me, coming back for the Hall of Fame and then Raw 1,000 — that was a lot of fun.
WrestlingINC.com interview
Layfield talks about his debut in the WWE:
I didn’t think I’d be there very long. I really thought I’d be there two or three years. That’s about all people were around for at that time. People came and left a lot and I really figured I’d be there two or three years and I’d go back to Japan and maybe even going back to college and being a coach somewhere. I didn’t expect to be there for 15 years or whatever. That was completely unexpected to be there that long.
WrestlingINC.com interview
Roberts speaks about his matches with Savage in WWE:
With Randy? He’s a psychotic son of a b—h, man. He was nuts. I love Randy to death but he was a psycho. You had to ground him. What I’d do is I’d go out and lean on him during the early part of the match until he got tired. Then, once he got tired, he was much more sensible in terms of what we were doing.
GQ cover
Gordon-Levitt appears on the cover of the August 2012 issue of popular men’s magazine, GQ. The actor models a variety of three-piece suits from such brands as Dolce & Gabbana, Hugo Boss, and Ermenegildo Zegna. In the interview, he shares details about his teenage years in showbiz, the devolution of the entertainment business, and his notion of fame.
I really don’t like this notion that some people are more important than other people. These stories about these elevated people called ‘celebrities’ teaches you that what you have to say doesn’t matter. It’s degrading.
Chase Jarvis interview
Scoble and Jarvis talk about gear and tech including cameras, wearable image sensors, realtime creative collaboration, cloud solutions, and other new tech that can be used for creative purposes. He also talks about how he got into tech, including asking Steve Wozniak for $40,000 for the San Jose State journalism program, which he says Wozniak gave the program. Scoble:
In junior high I got a tour of the Apple building when it was one building…which gives you a sense of how nuts the world can get. I fell in love with computers..ever since then I’ve been at the change of old to new
Esquire interview
Ryan talks about why he voted for TARP:
No. I don’t. Look, first of all, you don’t look back on these things. The reason I voted for TARP is I legitimately worry about us having a deflationary spiral, and what that means is thousands of businesses would go belly-up and bankrupt through no fault of their own.
