Stores offline
The Company’s iTunes and App stores are offline for more than eight hours due to a DNS (doman name service) error. During this time customers worldwide are not able to buy or download items. Service for the iBooks Store also was interrupted. A timeline on Apple’s page said the outage started before 5 a.m. Access issues for users of iCloud Mail and other cloud services lasted about four hours, according to the timeline.
We apologize to our customers experiencing problems with iTunes and other services this morning. The cause was an internal DNS error at Apple. We’re working to make all of the services available to customers as soon as possible, and we thank everyone for their patience.
‘I don’t think it’s that serious’
May comments on Clarkson’s suspension:
No, I think he has been involved in a bit if a dust up, but I don’t think it’s that serious.
Asked if he supports Clarkson:
In many ways no, I have said many times before the man is a knob, but I quite like him. It’s all getting a bit ridiculous.
Journalists job losses warning
While speaking at the Digital Media Strategies conference, a gathering of more than 400 CEOs and senior leaders from the media industry, Highfield warns that the number of full-time journalists working across the group’s local titles will fall from its current figure of about 1,000. He says Johnston Press is aiming to increase the proportion of its revenue from digital advertising to about 23% in 2015, up from 17% in the current financial year, and that the group is headed towards a point at which digital ad revenue is growing four times faster than print declines.
The economics of this business means we will end up with fewer full-time journalists on our books. What you end up with is a much more fluid model with contributors producing a larger percentage of the newspaper. That’s not something we can duck. The economics of the digital world are going to mean our businesses can grow, not just survive but grow, but we need to go about things in a different way. It doesn’t mean the front of the book or the quality of editorial oversight will be diminished.
Wall of Shame to stop outside defecation
West Bengal’s Nadia district uses a ‘wall of shame’ to stop villagers from attending nature’s call in the open fields. Names and photographs of those who defecate in the open are pasted on a village wall. The district, which has a population of 5.2 million, strives to achieve the target of 100 per cent open defecation-free status by 2019.
This is being done to attach a sense of stigma and shame for those defecating in the open. We have constructed around 95 per cent toilets so far but this is not enough as people who have been going out in the open (to defecate) since generations cannot be expected to use toilets suddenly. Once they start using toilets their names would be restored.
On Air interview
Seacrest interviews Big Sean during On Air With Ryan Seacrest about his album Dark Sky Paradise.
It’s just cool to see it pay off. I really put my heart into and I put a lot of effort into it. It’s just cool, man, when you follow your heart and how it works out. The second I found out it was No. one I haven’t slept in days and I was exhausted and it was like I just got hit by lightening. Everybody kept hitting me up. I mean everybody. Even Kid Rock text me because we both put an album out on the same week and he was like, ‘You deserve it, man! Congratulations!
On Air interview
Seacrest interviews Derulo during On Air With Ryan Seacrest about his album Want To Want Me.
I was coming off of a crazy experience. That was a point where I broke my neck and I had to cancel my whole tour. I was making music just for myself. It wasn’t planned for an album or anything because I was supposed to be on tour…So I was just in the studio doing me and that’s what came out. The album just had a bunch of songs that made you feel good because I needed to get myself out of the rut that I was in. So I was making music that made me feel good.
Defends private email use
In a press conference Clinton says she used a private e-mail account to conduct State Department business for “convenience”. She says she has released more than 27,500 emails (from a total of 62,320) that involved official government e-mail addresses, such as those addressed to .gov addresses, names of government officials and Clinton’s staff, but also for terms including “Benghazi” and “Libya.” 31,830 e-mails were deemed personal and deleted. She said she did not discuss classified information on her personal e-mail.
I opted for convenience to use my personal email account, which was allowed by the State Department, because I thought it would be easier to carry just one device for my work and for my personal emails instead of two…Looking back it would have been better to use separate phones and two separate e-mail accounts. I thought one (mobile) device would be simpler. Obviously, it hasn’t worked out that way…I have no doubt we have done exactly what we should have done.
Clinton said she “chose not to keep” personal e-mails:
No one wants their personal e-mails made public and I think most people understand that and respect that privacy.
When asked about the impact of the controversy on whether she will run for President:
I trust the American people to make their decisions about political and public matters and I feel that I’ve taken unprecedented steps to provide these work-related emails, they’re going to be in the public domain, and Americans will find that interesting and I look forward to having that discussion.
Tmz Sports interview
Ali talks about Ronda Rousey.
No woman can beat me period. She’s too much smaller than me anyway. She’s like the size of my daughter, my three year old.

Announces departure from team
In a blog post, Smith announces that he will not be playing for the Ravens in 2015.
Although I may no longer be a member of the Baltimore Ravens, at heart, I will always be a Raven. What we accomplished together is timeless…This isn’t a goodbye because I will still be around, and Baltimore will continue to be my home in the offseason and when my career is done. I’m on to the next chapter of my life and football career, but I will see you guys later…I literally dreamed of playing for the Baltimore Ravens, not just because it is a great organization with an amazing fan base, but because of the foundation of the team and the principles that the men who run it stand by and for.
Calls for changing tables in mens’ restrooms
Kutcher says mens’ restrooms need changing tables for when dads bring their children along with them.
There are NEVER diaper changing stations in mens public restrooms. The first public men’s room that I go into that has one gets a free shout out on my FB page! #BeTheChange
Variety interview
Vaughn talks about working with Nic Pizzolatto for season 2 of True Detective. The series of eight hour-long episodes focuses on a career criminal and three police officers who involve themselves in a conspiracy theory.
Nic is very unique because he writes literally every episode by himself. And it’s such adult storytelling. You investigate a specific culture and really climb in and explore it over a long period of time.
On Air interview
Seacrest interviews Vaughn during On Air With Ryan Seacrest about his hand and footprint ceremony held at Hollywood’s TCL Chinese Theatre forecourt.
It was cool. Jon Favreau introduced me and we used to live just east of there in Los Feliz and Hancock Park when he came up and wrote Swingers. We used to walk around in Hollywood and the Chinese Theater is one of those places you walk by and kind of look at all the names and stuff. To be included in that the other day was great.
Claims ISIS membership
In an interview with WXIX-TV, Cornell claims he is a member of ISIS.
I’m with the Islamic State. I’m very dedicated to establish [sic] the Sharia in America, to wage war on the kafr (an Islamic term for ‘unbeliever’) and raise the word of Allah above all…I got orders from the brothers overseas because I’m with the Islamic State. My brothers over there, in Syria and Iraq, gave me specific orders to carry out jihad in the west, so I did so.
Cornell says he spoke with other ISIS members via an encrypted messaging service. They spoke about how they should raise Jihad in America and how they should go about forming sleeper cells.
What do I think is coming? Many things. There will be many, many attacks. Like I said, we are ready for the battle over the Capitol…We are pretty strong. Yes, yes. In every state like I said. We’re in Texas. We’re in Ohio. We’re in New York City. We’re in Washington, DC. We’re in every single state you can name, just about.
Memorials added
Cryptic Studios pays tribute to Nimoy by adding two memorials to its game. The first statue can be found on Vulcan, at the fountain where players gathered following the news of Nimoy’s passing. This statue bears the inscription “Live Long and Prosper.” The other statute is located on New Romulus and is inscribed with “The Needs of the Many Outweigh the Needs of the Few.” Both statues also feature a plaque inscribed with the names of other Star Trek contributors who have died.
People will be able to interact with this memorial and read the names, the dates of their birth and passing, and a personal quote where possible. In this small way, we hope to honor the memory and contribution of those who helped shape Star Trek into the cultural touchstone it is today.
Dr. Phil breakdown
During an interview with Dr. Phil, Gordon has an on-air breakdown, admits to drug use, and says he cannot cope with Houston’s death and the possible loss of long-time girlfriend, Brown. Gordon’s mother:
As we sit here right now, my son’s life hangs in the balance. When Whitney was found, he administered CPR to her and called me as he was standing in front of her saying, ‘Mom, why couldn’t I do it? I couldn’t get air into her lungs. He won’t let go of the guilt.
Wants to play Spiderman
Highmore says he would love to take on the role of Spiderman, although he hasn’t been ‘stoking any fires’ himself.
Obviously I would love to be considered. That would be fantastic. I guess we’ll just see how things go…You always feel like you can identify with him. He’s that kind of guy at school who wasn’t perhaps in the really cool group, but who was extremely intelligent and managed to find confidence in being Spider-Man – in this other side to his life.
Breaks interviewer’s ribs
Rousey injures with judo move website reporter who mocks her.
I don’t think you have enough strength and could compete with a man.
The Talks interview
Francis gives an interview to The Talks. He discusses what makes music timeless, his relationship with music, and painting.
Yeah, I paint. Sometimes I paint my children. I have a studio that I paint in. I’m going to go paint in it today, in fact. It feels good on your brain. It’s very primal. People have been painting since people have been people. You put some color on your finger or on a feather or on a piece of wood and you make a mark on the wall, you know? You make a mark on a great stone. This is something people have been doing since before they were writing words.
Vogue interview
The members of Purity Ring give an interview to Vogue magazine. They discusses what they are doing next and their album. Roddick:
