Conrad interview

Interview0 Comments

Arrington talks with About.me co-founder and CEO Conrad about the product. Arrington:

It’s a simple product on the front…but something about it is compelling

Conrad:

Because it is very simple

He explains that part of the product’s success was because it avoided evolving, as MySpace did by becoming a music sharing site and Facebook did by becoming a photo-sharing platform.

Tech Crunch interview

Graham says Y Combinator is now focusing more on people than ideas, as a team of founders who have been friends for some time will keep what seems like a difficult idea alive in order to not let each other down:

At the stage we’re funding people, at the beginning, the founder is more important than the idea…We’re looking for people who have been friends for a while and worked together on things…Almost every startup has some point where it seems like the startup is doomed, the startup is worthless

Y Combinator's Paul Graham On Changing Strategies

Founders now have more power

Interview0 Comments

Graham talks to Tech Crunch about how demographic shifts mean founders have more power:

That means basically investors have to do things the way the founders want

Asked if that is good for business:

Probably.

He adds it is more socially acceptable to start a startup, and costs less money, shifting more power to founders and away from investors.

WWE.com interview

Eve talks to WWE.com about Zack Ryder and her kissing John Cena.

I never intended for anything bad to happen to Zack. How this turned out is not how I intended. I acted in the moment—we all make mistakes. I can’t really say I’m sorry, but isn’t it better to be honest than to lead Zack on?

The Talks interview

Interview0 Comments

Malkovich gives an interview to The Talks. He discusses why he watches movies and how he has lived a charmed life.

For the most part. My friends, my interests, my curiosities, my reading, the things I like to do. I have a great group of friends around the world who I like and I stay in touch with them okay – maybe not brilliantly, but adequately, probably. I can’t think of anybody who’s had a more charmed life, really.

The Art of Wrestling interview

Williams is a guest on The Art of Wrestling to discuss TNA and being Canadian.

I try to hide my Canadian accent. I try to talk American. You’ll hear it slip every now and then. But if I wasn’t Canadian, I probably wouldn’t have a job in TNA because they wanted a legit Team Canada.

Maxim Interview

Jillette gives his thoughts on appearing on The Celebrity Apprentice:

It’s 16 hours a day, 6 days a week with cameras on you, doing what you’re not good at, and you’re in an environment with people that you don’t know. It’s not the hardest job I’ve had – I’ve certainly worked that many hours in a week before – but when I’m working, it’s doing stuff that I’ve chosen to do so it’s a different feeling. But on the show, we’re doing stuff we’re not good at, stuff we didn’t choose, with cameras on us. It’s a goofy experience.

I still kind of go with, if it happens, it happens. I’m calm and peaceful with whatever the plan is. It’s not something where I’m going, ‘I gotta have a kid!’

It’s not hard to get your way when it’s your way or the highway. People either follow suit or they’re not around. I don’t really like the sound of that, ‘cause that sounds like a temper tantrum. I’m just very black and white when it comes to my business. There’s really no gray area. I really don’t have a lot of small talk with people I work with. It’s pretty much let’s get the job done. In the beginning, if people didn’t know me they’d probably assume I wasn’t smart or wasn’t business savvy. But once you sit and talk to me, it’s a different story.

Nicki Minaj interview

Interview0 Comments

Seacrest interviews Minaj during On Air With Ryan Seacrest about performing Roman Holiday at the Grammys.

The Grammys chose ‘Roman Holiday.’ The producers of the Grammys came into the studio, and they heard ‘Roman Holiday’ and I could not play them another record after they heard that. I could have chosen to do a no-brainer pop song, but I can’t do it anymore. I have to stay true to what I’m doing.

Madonna interview

Interview0 Comments

Seacrest interviews Madonna during On Air With Ryan Seacrest about M.I.A rising her middle finger during the Super Bowl half time performance.

I was really surprised. I didn’t know anything about it. I wasn’t happy about it. I understand it’s punk rock and everything, but to me there was such a feeling of love and good energy, and positivity it seemed negative. It’s such a teenager irrelevant thing to do there was such a feeling of love and unity there what was the point? It was just out of place.

Van Pelt and Russillo interview

Rivers discusses hitting a game winning shot on North Carolina:

It was just an amazing feeling. It was a big team win. I think everybody contributed to the win and just to get the win at North Carolina, versus a great team, meant a lot. Everybody stepped up and when that ball went through the net I couldn’t even tell you what I was thinking man. Everything went so fast.

GQ interview

Interview0 Comments

Harrelson discusses his faith, new films Rampart and Hunger Games, meditation, Clint Eastwood and mothers in a wide-ranging interview with GQ magazine.

I was very religious growing up. My mom still is. We went to church all the time, went to Bible study; we even did Bible study at my house. I went to a Presbyterian college, you know, I was in….all the way, and so I remember doing my first sermon when I was 17, I was in high school. It wasn’t a full twenty-five minute sermon but for like ten minutes I got up and they let me do that and it was on faith.

Biggest regret:

I was doing a play in L.A. with John Cassavetes. I had a full realization of how amazing this guy was, although I didn’t understand in terms of his larger body of work and his influence on independent movies and so forth. But I didn’t understand all of that at the time. I was twenty-five or something. I was one of three guys who was being considered for a part for a movie in Rome, and so I left the play and flew over there. I didn’t get the part. I could have come back and he would have let me back in the play. I didn’t. I regret leaving it. One of the worst decisions of my life…Not just on a professional level because I don’t know how much of a difference it would have made, but on a more personal level. I should have stuck by that guy. He took a chance on me. That was a real lack of integrity on my part.

Channing Tatum interview

Interview0 Comments

Seacrest interviews Tatum during On Air With Ryan Seacrest about his latest film The Vow.

It is an emotional movie at certain times, but it definitely has a good ending. It’s a very frustrating type of a journey for two people that obviously are good people, that love each other or he loves her and they have to kind of let each other go in a way to be able to find their way back to each other.
