Bloody Elbow interview

Interview0 Comments

Ross talks to Bloody Elbow about UFC Fight Pass and the WWE Network services being the future of the industries.

They are going to be able to control their destiny – good, bad, or indifferent as far as the television product is concerned. I think what they have done is show a lot of other networks what can be accomplished by building your own digital network. I think we will see more various entities follow the WWE model. They may learn from the WWE’s mistakes, as with any business, and see where they fell or fumbled.

Digital Spy interview

Interview0 Comments

Snow talks to Digital Spy about TNA returning to using a six sided wrestling ring.

The six-sided ring is not that controversial to me. I don’t know what the controversy is. It’s two more sides. I think it’s a great identifier for TNA. You’re flipping through the TV channels and you see it, it stands out. It looks different, catches your attention. It might captivate somebody to watch for a few moments, and who knows, we may have another audience member.

New York interview

Interview0 Comments

In a wide-ranging and detailed interview with New York magazine, Andreessen talks about Silcon Valley culture, discrimination, his favorite TV shoe (Deadwood), and the ideal of meritocracy:

I believe the ideal is compromised by two things right now: One is educational skills development, and the other is access. This is the critique that I think is actually the most interesting, which is, yeah, the meritocracy works if you know the right people, if you have access to the networks. How do venture capitalists make investment decisions? Well, we get referrals based on people we already know. Well, what if you’re somebody who doesn’t already know anybody, right? What if you don’t know the recruiter at Facebook so you can’t get the job? What if you don’t know the venture capitalist so you can’t raise funding? We think access is broadening out the network so that everybody who could contribute can get access to the network. And that’s the one that we’re working on.

‘Target-rich environment’

Makes Statement0 Comments

U.S. officials say the ISIS offensive on Kobani is concentrating the group’s manpower in a small area and presenting a target for air strikes. U.S. CentCom chief Army Gen. Lloyd Austin:

The enemy has made a decision to make Kobani his main effort…Now, my goal is to defeat and ultimately destroy ISIL. And if [the enemy] continues to present us with major targets … then clearly, we’ll service those targets, and we’ve done so very, very effectively here of late

White House Press secretary Josh Earnest says the administration sees the assault as an opportunity:

That has created a rather target-rich environment around Kobani for American and coalition air strikes that when they see clusters of fighters or they see depots of material or supplies that are critical to the success of those fighters, it’s easier to take them out.

Mix Philadelphia interview

Interview0 Comments

Rollins talks to Mix Philadelphia about The Shield’s place in history among other legendary wrestling factions.

The Shield was only around for..what? Two years? And we did A LOT in 2 years. I think the fact that people even take those 2 years and put them up against the reputations of those other groups really says a lot about what we were able to accomplish in that short period of time…It’s definitely something, two years I’m very proud of and I’m happy to say we certainly left a scar on WWE.

Hollywood Reporter interview

Interview0 Comments

Woodley shares her thoughts on losing ones virginity in an interview with Hollywood Reporter while promoting her new film White Bird in a Blizzard. Woodley talks about how she tries to make the moment real for the viewer.

One of the things I have been very keen on in doing those scenes is that they feel real because, I don’t know about you, but I do not personally think losing your virginity is a fun experience. It’s not glamorous — for some people, I think it is, but it wasn’t for a lot of people on this planet — so for me, it was a matter of, if we’re gonna do a scene that deals with that, it’s not gonna be, ‘Her back arches and she gasps in excitement.’ No, no, it’s gonna be messy and it’s gonna be real.

If you have no hope whatsoever, you just can’t survive. It was surely very difficult for him to have seen us leaving. But still it means that something is going on and something positive so it helps … but then to see people taken off the cell to be killed must … be extremely hard.

Kane sits down with The Rack radio show to discuss acting and his favorite Hell in a Cell moment.

Interview0 Comments

Jericho talks to Between the Ropes about his most recent WWE run and feuds.

The Bray Wyatt cage match in Baltimore and then the Randy Orton – Night of Champions match in Nashville I thought were two…whatever a five star match is.  Two really really really good matches that I would put on my list of all-time favorites. And that was good to know because as the years go by, I feel just as good as I ever did.

Press TV interview

Interview0 Comments

Shim conducts what will be her final interview for Press TV. She says she has thought of approaching Turkish intelligence over the spying allegations

I am a bit worried, because…Turkey has been labeled by Reporters Without Borders as the largest prison for journalists

She says she has broken the story of ISIS fighters being smuggled over the border in trucks used for international NGOs:

We were some of the first people on the ground, if not the first people, to get that story of…militants going in through the Turkish border…I’ve got images of them in World Food Organization trucks. It was very apparent that they were militants by their beards, by the clothes they wore
