Tavis Smiley interview

Moss discusses her career and role in the BBC and Sundance Channel miniseries, Top of the Lake, in this interview for PBS.

It had that sort of Twin Peaks kind of vibe, and the character is very different from my day job as Peggy. It was something that was going to really challenge me, and so that kind of one-two-three punch, I really wanted to be involved. Then I was sort of like, well, I look forward to congratulating the actress that ends up doing this role.

McKillop talks about Davidson making the NCAA Tournament:

It’s very reminiscent of the ’05-’06 team and the ’01-’02 team, because it’s senior-heavy with a lot of experience in the senior class and guys who have been through some battles. What’s really gratifying about this year is that there were such expectations on their shoulders, and they never as a team, as a roster, have had to deal with those kind of expectations. When we got knocked to the mat early … they started to do some soul-searching and questioning and doubting. … But right after Christmas they came back determined and united and I think we’ve been on a pretty good roll since Christmas.

Devon speaks about working with the young talent in TNA:

It was so easy because these guys wanted it just as bad as anyone else did. To be able to have talent like that, and they were willing to get in that ring and give it one hundred and ten per cent and do what you ask of them for the sake of the business, the product and the fans it was a win win situation. That is exactly what went on at that time in TNA and I was very proud to be a part of the company at that particular time.

Calhoun gives his thoughts on the final Big East Tournament that will involve all of the original teams:

It’s been quite a season for everyone in college basketball. You’re right about the Big East. I was standing with Jim Boeheim before they played us and both of us said the same thing. There’s a touch of sadness in name, anyway. I think we all feel the same way. You can’t have it any better. … It changed the face of the East, clearly, and definitively we would have never won the national titles without it. I don’t know if Villanova could have done it or any of us, including Syracuse. We took six titles from our league and all of that because of the great genius, God rest his soul, of David Gavitt. He changed the face and I think, quite frankly, he changed the face of college basketball.

Angle discusses TNA’s potential and when he will retire with ChicagoNow.com

I might be involved in some way but not in the ring. I might have a part time schedule where I do some selected shows, which I can handle. If I decide to do that I won’t announce my retirement. But I’m going to give TNA the next 3 years of my absolute best and see what happens.

I’ve always got sort of a paternal thing for him, because when he was 12 we did that movie together

Shape Magazine interview

Deen speaks to Shape Magazine about losing over 40 pounds.

Years ago, when I overcame my agoraphobia, I woke up one day and made the decision to change my life. It wasn’t an easy decision, but I knew the time was right. My family all lost their weight in different ways; there is no one right way. For me, my doctors told me that fighting my diabetes would be easier with less weight, so it was a natural decision. I realized, like we all do, that you have to listen to your doctor.

Wrestle talk TV interview

Hogan talks to Wrestle Talk TV about TNA storylines and what the company needs to grow.

If you’re not a die hard wrestling fan, the story-lines have to be consistent. The plots have to be something that is very easy to understand.

The Talks interview

Tautou gives an interview to The Talks. She discusses giving up acting, her self-confidence, and what kind of films she is passionate about.

Some films are pure entertainment of course, but what interests me and what I want to do are projects that really make you think, that move you, that will bring you something that will stay with you for a while. I think films are essential to the intellectual awakening of people. Art – be it painting, sculpture, music – they are all creations, they are creative acts. I consider a film, with everything that is involved in it, an art.

Milano talks with Hollyscoop, about not quite remembering a lot of things about filming Who’s the Boss?, despite enjoying her time on the series and being up for a reunion.

Shining Wizards interview

Van Dam talks to Shining Wizards about his time in WWE, ECW and TNA.

I am sure there was a reason. I don’t know why I wasn’t booked on the 1st ECW PPV. It wasn’t my job to make the matches. That was Paul Heyman’s. I am sure when he put the card together, he had a reason for not putting me on it, and I took offense to it. So I entertained the first offer that Eric Bischoff put on the table to go to WCW.

The Dan Patrick Show interview

Kelly discusses his 36 point game against Miami:

I was pretty happy about it to say the least, especially with the win obviously. I didn’t really know when I was going to play. I decided the day before. Really only got one 20 minute practice in the day before and just said I was going to go for it. Thank goodness the ball went in the basket.

Fishel gives her thoughts why the ABC show Boy Meets World is so fondly remembered:

We were in people’s family rooms every Friday for seven years. When I watch old episodes, it’s like watching home movies, so I imagine that other people feel the same way. ABC’s TGIF lineup was probably the one time a week when parents and kids all watched TV together.

Mixmag interview

Robinson is interviewed by Mixmag and discusses how Dance Dance Revolution got him interested in music production at the age of 13, touring with Skrillex and Tommy Lee, and why he still lives at home with his family. On EDM:

It’s questionable whether a lot of the electronic music coming out of America at the moment is rooted in the stuff that came out of Detroit and Chicago. It’s good to know the history but I’m not sure it matters that much to the average EDM fan. I turned down doing a remix for Katy Perry and all the headlines read, “Porter sticks to his dance roots” – but I’m not sure I have dance roots. The track just didn’t inspire me. Those kind of functional, club-focused EDM tracks that are created to make people jump in stadiums are as uninspiring to me as bad pop music

V magazine cover

LadyGagaTroyVCoverCarter is interviewed by V magazine. On how he sees pop music evolving:

This is the best time to be in the music industry. As sub-Saharan Africa and China go completely mobile, you have people who’ve never had access to the music we offer all of a sudden able to access it. I think we can reach a lot more people now. You’re going to see a lot more friction points for independent artists disappear, but there will be more artists than ever. You’ll have to look at making money through a different lens. Artists are going to be giving away music in exchange for different things, like data or purchasing a ticket or a piece of merchandise. There will be new ways to monetize music, but it may not be the music itself.

His most memorable experience working with Gaga:

I think—and I can say this because it just happened recently—it was seeing her have a casual conversation with the President about gay rights issues. When you think back to six years ago, this girl from New York walking in with ripped-up stockings, and now she’s having conversations with the President about serious issues—it’s a bit surreal.
