Responds to critics
Kjellberg responds to online commenters who criticized his earnings, by recounting his humble beginnings, working at a hot dog stand after dropping out of college and making YouTube videos in his spare time.
The fact that I could make videos was so much important to me than doing a job that was sort of less prestigious….Money is the topic I purposely tried to avoid for the five years I’ve been making videos, because I just feel like it’s not important to anyone. I just want to make entertaining videos. Don’t get me wrong, though, I don’t hate money. I’m not going to pretend it doesn’t matter to me, because it matters to everyone…I think that’s what cool about YouTube. Anyone can do this. I do work a tremendous amount of work. Ask my girlfriend. And if you worked this hard, you could do it too.
Clinton ‘worst secretary of state’ in history
Trump says Clinton is “the worst secretary of state in the history of our nation.”
The world blew up around us
He aslo criticizes her stance on immigration:
[She’ll] let everybody come in… killers, criminals, drug dealers…Hillary’s weak on immigration. I might be divisive on immigration, but she’s weak on immigration, which is far worse…If you listen to Hillary, she is so weak on immigration, we will have a crime rate like you’ve never seen.
‘I Will Win the Latino Vote’
Trump tells NBC News that he has nothing to apologise for and that he will win the support of Latinos because of his record creating jobs.
I have a great relationship with the Mexican people. I have many people working for me – look at the job in Washington – I have many legal immigrants working with me. And many of them come from Mexico. They love me, I love them. And I’ll tell you something, if I get the nomination, I’ll win the Latino vote.
He says he will build an “impenetrable” wall between the United States and Mexico and that he will “make” the Mexican government foot the bill.
Mexico’s making a fortune off the United States. I would get them to pay for the wall. Believe me.
Singapore Central Bank assists corruption probe
Singapore’s central bank is cooperating with Malaysia over a probe into allegations regarding transfers totalling almost $700 million into the Prime Minister’s personal accounts. Malaysian authorities say they are freezing six accounts related to the probe. The Monetary Authority of Singapore:
The Malaysian authorities have launched an investigation into this matter. Singapore will continue to provide our full assistance and share information with the authorities in Malaysia, within the ambit of our laws. In this connection, MAS has been in close contact with the relevant financial institutions.

Ammoland interview
In an interview with Ammoland.com, Trump says he supports the right of individuals to own guns. He says he has a concealed weapon permit.
Gun control does not reduce crime. It has consistently failed to stop violence. Americans are entitled to protect their families, their property and themselves. In fact, in right-to-carry states the violent crime rate is 24% lower than the rest of the United States and the murder rate is 28% lower. This should not be up for debate.
He also says he will end gun-free zones on military bases.
As Commander-in-Chief, I would mandate that soldiers remain armed and on alert at our military bases…They will be able to defend themselves against terrorists. Our brave soldiers should not be at risk because of policy created by civilian leadership. Political correctness has no place in this debate…The 2nd Amendment is right, not a privilege. The small minority of anti-everything activists may be vocal, but we have facts, and the Constitution, on our side.
He also calls Karl Rove a “loser” for proposing a repeal of the Second Amendment.
Pluto map
NASA releases this map compiled from photos taken between June 27 and July 3 showing the following features along the equator: The long dark area on the left, named “the whale” measures 3,000 km (1,800 miles), above the whale’s tail is a doughnut shaped area measuring 350km (200 miles) across, to the right of the whale’s head is the brightest region, and further to the right are four mysterious dark spots.
‘Validated’ by Cosby’s testimony
Dickinson says she feels “vindicated” by the release of Cosby’s testimony.
It shows that he and all his people knew all along that we were telling the truth. [But] I want an admission of guilt. This is not over until we get a fair judge and jury and he can go under oath and stand on trial under oath for what he did to me. He and his accomplices should have to pay for what they did.
I personally have spoken to a few women who are too embarrassed and scared to come forward. I’ve seen the pain in their eyes. I just want the other women to know that [speaking out] is painful. But it’s the right thing to do for the healing process, which I beg to God will start to kick in on my end. It hasn’t so far.
WHO can’t handle Epidemics
A 28 page report by a panel led by Dame Stocking says the World Health Organisation unable to handle public health emergencies judging from its performance in the Ebola epidemic. The report suggests fault in WHO’s financial preparedness, reliance on diplomacy, and lack of decisive actions by director general Chan. Furthermore, the report recommends regional and country representatives to play a more active role in pushing their governments to take immediate action to epidemics; this is in response to WHO’s delayed declaration of an Ebola crisis only after the death of 1,000 people.
WHO does not currently possess the capacity or organisational culture to deliver a full emergency public health response.
WHO accepts the report’s criticism and prepares improvements to its workforce and financial reserves. Medecins Sans Frontieres Dr. Liu:
The question is how will this translate into real action on the ground in future outbreaks?
Clinic vaccination errors
In an annual audit, authorities shut down a clinic in Salem County, N.J. that gave expired or wrong vaccinations to uninsured children through the Shots for Tots program between October 2014 and June 2015. The audit reveals a two-year-old boy was given an excessive dose of an HPV vaccination for cervical cancer (Gardasil), a one-year-old child was given a flu mist dose at the wrong age, two children were given expired vaccinations, and one child was given a wrong vaccination for an unconfirmed disease. Authorities also dispose of $20,000 worth of vaccines that perished following improper storage. Salem County Counsel:
If errors occur, errors occur. And you got to step up to the plate, and you have to make sure somebody’s not harmed further.
Back on track
New Horizons resumes normal operations on its main computer. The team determines that the problem was that the main computer was overloaded due to a timing conflict in the spacecraft command sequence. The computer was tasked with receiving a large command load at the same time it was engaged in compressing previous science data. The main computer responded precisely as it was programmed to do, by entering safe mode and switching to the backup computer. Thirty observations were lost during the recovery period, but they did not affect any critical observations.
I’m pleased that our mission team quickly identified the problem and assured the health of the spacecraft. Now – with Pluto in our sights – we’re on the verge of returning to normal operations and going for the gold.

Pao apologizes
Pao makes an announcement as to how she plans on fixing her mistakes on Reddit.
We screwed up. Not just on July 2, but also over the past several years. We haven’t communicated well, and we have surprised moderators and the community with big changes. We have apologized and made promises to you, the moderators and the community, over many years, but time and again, we haven’t delivered on them. When you’ve had feedback or requests, we haven’t always been responsive. The mods and the community have lost trust in me and in us, the administrators of reddit.
Today, we acknowledge this long history of mistakes. We are grateful for all you do for reddit, and the buck stops with me …
I know these are just words, and it may be hard for you to believe us. I don’t have all the answers, and it will take time for us to deliver concrete results. I mean it when I say we screwed up, and we want to have a meaningful ongoing discussion. I know we’ve drifted out of touch with the community as we’ve grown and added more people, and we want to connect more. I and the team are committed to talking more often with the community, starting now.
Thank you for listening. Please share feedback here. Our team is ready to respond to comments.

There have been concerted efforts by certain individuals to undermine confidence in our economy, tarnish the government and remove a democratically-elected prime minister.
Jail interview
In a jail interview Lopez admits he shot Steinle, but says the weapon — which he said he found lying on the ground wrapped in a T-shirt — went off by accident when he picked it up. At another points he says he could not recall details of the shooting because he’d taken sleeping medication. When asked where he got the gun:
In the ground. When the… when the… over there in the bench, um, um, I put my leg and I see the one T-shirt and then see over there something like that…Then suddenly I heard that boom boom, three times.
He says he returned to the United States after he was deported to find work in restaurants, or roofing, landscaping, and construction, and that he has worked on ranches in Arizona and helped stock stores in Portland, Oregon. He says he came to San Francisco because there were more opportunities and because officials there would not deport him. He also says he does not have a lawyer and plans to say he is guilty in court.
I want the courts to punish me as is deserved and for this to end as soon as possible.
Enters safe mode
At 1:54 pm New Horizons’ autonomous autopilot recognizes a problem, stops communicating with mission control on Earth, switches from the main to the backup computer and puts the probe into safe mode. It then begins to send information to engineers to help diagnose the problem. At 3:15 pm communication is restored. At 4:00 pm the team meets to resolve the problem and restore the probe to its flight plan. The probe is not able to collect science data at this time.
Lennon’s assassination made him a ‘martyr’
In an interview with Esquire magazine McCartney comments on how Lennon’s status changed after his murder:
The Beatles split up [in 1970] and we were sort of all equal. George did his record, John did his, I did mine, Ringo did his. It was as we were during the Beatles’ times. We were equal. When John got shot, aside from the pure horror of it, the lingering thing was, ‘OK, well, now John’s a martyr. A JFK.’ I started to get frustrated because people started to say, ‘Well, he was the Beatles.’ And me, George and Ringo would go, ‘Er, hang on. It’s only a year ago we were all equal-ish.
John was the witty one, sure. John did a lot of great work. And post-Beatles he did more great work, but he also did a lot of not-great work. Now the fact that he’s now martyred has elevated him to a James Dean, and beyond. So whilst I didn’t mind that – I agreed with it – I understood that now there was going to be revisionism. It was going to be: John was the one. I mean, if you just pull out all his great stuff and then stack it up against my not-so-great stuff, it’s an easy case to make.
He also discusses the order of the attribution of the Beatles songs, which was supposed to switch according to the main writer.
The original artwork had ‘Yesterday by John Lennon and Paul McCartney’ and a photo of John above it. And I went, ‘Argh, Come on, lads.’ Anyway they wouldn’t do it [change the names around]…I tell you what, if John was here he would definitely say that’s OK. Because he didn’t give a damn. It wasn’t anything that worried him. But I’ve given up on it. Suffice to say. In case it seems like I’m trying to do something to John.
Parents speak on SF policy
Steinle’s parents say that while they respect the immigration sanctuary laws of SF, their daughter wouldn’t have been killed by Sanchez if ICE had been complied with.
We’re here for kate and I think I can speak for my wife when I say its a non issue…It would have been so much better if he were gone and they would have done what they should have done, absolutely, without a guess definitely but that’s not how it is.
Responds to Republican critics
In an interview with Fox news, Trump criticizes Republican opponents who have criticized his recent comments on immigration. On George Pataki:
I know Pataki well, and, you know, he’s a sad figure. He’s got zero in the polls, and he was a terrible governor of New York. Terrible. If he would have run again, he would have failed.
On Marco Rubio:
And, you know, as far as Rubio, he is very weak on immigration, and I have been saying that for a long time about him.
On Jeb Bush:
He’s not a stupid guy, so I don’t assume that he thinks every Mexican crossing the border is a rapist. So he’s doing this to inflame and to incite and to draw attention to his campaign, which seems to be his organizing principle of his campaign, and it doesn’t represent the Republican Party or its values.
Didn’t expect severity of backlash
In an interview with Fox News, Trump says he didn’t expect the strength of the backlash against his comments to be quite as severe:
I knew it was going to be bad because I was told this. All my life I have been told this: If you are successful, you don’t run for office.I didn’t know it was going to be quite this severe, but I really knew it was going to be bad…It seems like I’m sort of the whipping post because I bring it up. And I don’t understand whether you are liberal or whether you are conservative or whether you are Republican, Democrat — why wouldn’t you talk about a problem? The crime is raging. It’s violent, and people don’t want to even talk about it. If you talk about it, you are a racist. I don’t understand it.
For the people who say I’m doing it for my brand – this isn’t good for my brand. I think it’s bad for my brand…You know, maybe I’m leading in polls, but this is certainly not good. I lose customers, I lose people. I had one of the top shows on television, The Apprentice, and I decided not to do it because I wanted to do this. I give up hundreds of millions of dollars of deals where I’m doing this. Then you hear about NASCAR, and you hear about NBC, and you hear about, you know, different people that drop Trump because Trump wants safety in the United States. If you think of it, what am I doing? I say let’s make our country safe, and people are offended. It’s incredible to me.
