O Magazine interview

Fantasia speaks to Winfrey in an interview for O Magazine about being raped as a teenager.

I had a crush on this guy. He was the best ballplayer, and all the girls wanted him. I thought I had no chance with him. One day during a game after school, I was flaunting around in an itty-bitty dress. I was flirting, and he told me, You’re going to get something you don’t want. And that’s exactly what happened. Yes. I went home and threw away my clothes. I didn’t tell my mama because I thought she would say, I told you so. I just lay on my bed, and I didn’t go to school for a couple of days. My mom came to me and said, Something’s not right with you. I know that somebody put his hands on you. That’s when I knew I had her support. We turned the guy in, but going back to school was hell; his homeboys would say, I’m going to do to you exactly what he did. They thought it was funny. That’s when I quit school.

brad-pitt-v-magazinePitt appears on the cover of the Fall 2007 issue of V magazine. He talks about becoming a father, the media, and luring the paparazzi to Africa.

It’s fourfold. For one, we know that’s going to happen so it becomes a plus. It’s all about cost and gain, plusses and minuses. Two, and most importantly, we loved the idea of our daughter being born on another continent, something she’ll be able to have roots in as well and want to explore as she gets older. That was the preeminent factor for us. Three, we knew that they had very strong privacy laws there. And we knew there was going to be a huge bounty on our heads and we were going to get very little peace unless we went to a place like that. And four, it happened to be a place that we loved.

Barrino talks about performing the song Summertime on American Idol:

That was the night that everything changed. People came up to me and said, I wasn’t voting for you at first, but I have no other choice now, baby. That night, I wanted to be pure. I wanted the world to hear me cry out [sings]: One of these mornings, y’all gonna rise up singing, then you’ll spread your wings, and fly to the sky. I wanted people to see me, to change their minds about me. And that night, they did.

Alison Lohman interview

Interview0 Comments

Esquire interviews Lohman about how she takes a break when she is between films.

I went with a bunch of friends, and we’re planning to create this eco-friendly community there where everything will be sustainable. It’s one of my favorite places. I just love the energy. You can walk wherever you want. I did a silent meditation retreat where you couldn’t speak for ten days. It’s the most amazing feeling, getting rid of all those excess thoughts that make you crazy.

Hansen talks about the parallel investigation model used for the show To Catch a Predator:

I think it has. I mean obviously it raises issues and we discuss these issues before going into every one of these investigations. And I think we’ve addressed them. And obviously there are people, you know, at the Poynter Institute and other places that think it’s too close. You know after the Fairfax County Virginia investigation, we interviewed law enforcement after the fact, and Perverted Justice provided transcripts after the fact. But it was difficult for them [the police] to make a case. Some cases were made after that investigation. But it was difficult. You know, in the model that we used in Riverside I think it served our viewers and it served public safety in the best way that we could.

116cover_slideshow_l1Duff appears on the cover of the August 2007 issue of Maxim magazine. She talks about her success and why she isn’t a train wreck.

A lot of people keep me in check. It’s not exactly hard being so young and having so much—I’m thankful. But young people in Hollywood get so used to being told “yes” all the time, and that’s not reality. When you get everything you want at a young age, you become bored. You’re like, “What’s next? What else is there?” I think that might be the problem.

Elle Magazine interview

Grohl gives interview to Elle Magazine about his most humiliating childhood moment.

In seventh grade, there was this gorgeous, angelic girl named Sandy who moved to Alexandria, Virginia, where I grew up. Within the first few weeks of school, I asked her to go steady. She said yes, and we’d meet at her locker after every period and give each other hickeys. After about two weeks, she said, I’m new here; I don’t want to get tied down, and dumped me.

Dane Cook interview

Interview0 Comments

Cook gives interview to Elle Magazine about the time he lost his virginity.

It was actually perfect in many ways. It was on my seventeenth birthday with my first girlfriend. She invited me to her house for a sleepover, and my parents let me go. She had a screened-in front porch and we were both in our separate sleeping bags and she invited me into hers. It’s the corniest thing, and if I ever told my guy friends I would certainly be elbowed in the face, but I remember as it was happening seeing the full moon through the screen and thinking, I’m a man today.
