The Company announces the Dash Button, for Amazon Prime customers, who can place the device on the wall and tap to automatically order or re-order more than a dozen products such as Tide detergent, Bounty paper towels, and Clorox wipes. The buttons are available to Prime customers immediately for free. Due to the timing of the launch, the company insists the product is not an April Fools’ joke:

Hunters, Behemoth released
Turtle Rock Studios releases DLC that includes four original Hunters and a monster, the Behemoth. The Hunters include Torvald, a cyborg with a mortar cannon for an arm; Crow, who comes with a pet used for tracking the monster; Slim, who appears to be part insect; and Sunny, who is armed with a mininuke grenade launcher. These Hunters are part of Evolve’s season pass, which goes for $24.99. The Hunters can also be purchased separately for $7.49 each. The Behemoth is free for those who pre-ordered Evolve and got the Monster Expansion Pack. The Behemoth can also be purchased separately for $14.99.
Launch Tidal
Jay-Z launches his streaming music service TIDAL at an industry event, #TIDALforall at Skylight in Moynihan Station in New York City. He announces his partnership with 16 other artists, including Beyonce, Madonna, Usher, Rihanna, Butler and Chassagne of Arcade Fire, Jason Aldean, J. Cole, Jack Wright, Chris Martin, Daft Punk, Deadmau5, Nikki Minaj, Coldplay and Calvin Harris, who formally sign a declaration of partnership. Tidal is the first service to offer ad-free music, video and editorial content owned by the stars who actually create it. The high quality sound service is available across iOS and Android devices, as well as in Web browsers and desktop players, in the U.S. and 30 other countries. Unveils world’s tallest coaster
Carowinds holds a ribbon cutting ceremony for the Fury 325, the world’s tallest giga coaster. The 32-passenger train climbs to the top of a 325-foot hill, which is followed by an 81 degree drop. Reaching speeds up to 95 miles per hour, the train then travels through a series of hills, curves, and quick transitions. The ride lasts about three and a half minutes.
First DLC pack released
Dragon Age’s first downloadable content pack, Jaws of Hakkon, is released for Windows PC and Xbox One at a price of $14.99. In the content pack, players will discover the fate of the last Inquisitor and the powerful dragon he hunted as they explore a wilderness settled by ‘fiercely independent hunters.’ Players are tasked with investigating the culture of these people in order to uncover the answer to the game’s mystery.
Apple Watch unveiled
Apple unveils a smart-watch that allows user to make and receive calls and track personal health. Apple chief executive, Tim Cook:
Apple watch is like having a coach on your wrist.It is the most personal device we have ever created and can display a variety of faces ranging from a classic watch to an animated Mickey Mouse. With the built in speaker and microphone you can receive calls on your watch. I have been wanting to do this since I was five years old.
HBO Now launch
HBO announces HBO Now, a standalone streaming service available exclusively on Apple TV as a new channel. HBO Now is also available on iPhone, iPad, and iPod as an app. HBO’s entire catalog of movies and TV shows can either be streamed through HBONow.com or on all Apple devices through the channel or the app. The service costs $15 a month, and it can only be subscribed to via the HBO Now app on an Apple device.
Introduces hydrogen-powered Mirai
Toyota introduces Mirai, an affordable, eco-friendly “future car,” that runs on hydrogen fuel cells, converting compressed hydrogen gas to electricity. The car’s range is 300 miles and it charges in about three minutes. The Mirai will be produced in small batches, with only 700 being split between the U.S., Europe and Japan this year, with a selling price of $45,000. Next year, approximately 2,000 will be built for distribution. With incentives of 3 million yen ($25,000) and investments in self-service hydrogen stations, Toyota reports there are already 1,500 orders for the car in Japan. The car will be available in fall 2015. The company says the car is:
an automotive history turning point.
Tackles abuse
The site makes it easier to submit abuse reports and triples its number of staff to handle the abuse reports. The Company is also improving its methods to deal with trolls, with one method rumored to be telephone number tracking of users that have earned a reputation for repeated harassment.
Suicide prevention plan
Facebook joins with Now Matters Now, the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline, Save.org and Forefront: Innovations in Suicide Prevention to give users more options to report posts indicating the user could be thinking of self harm. Users will be able to click a small arrow at the top right of the post and click “Report Post” If Facebook feels like the post indicates distress, the person who posted it will be greeted with a pop when he or she next logs in.
Launches ice cream brand
Nicklaus launches his own brand of ice cream. The ice cream, made by a Minnesota-based company, is available in seven different flavors.
It’s no secret that I love ice cream. Needless to say, I have never had so much fun in the research and development of a product!
Kids collection
Kim and her sisters share the floral and glitzy designs from their kidswear range on social media. The collection, which is an extension of Kim, Khloe and Kourtney’s Kardashian Kollection for adults, includes a soft tulle skirt with rose gold foil detailing, a woven broderie lace dress with rose gold buttons, and a zip-through bomber jacket and beaded, feathered headband. Toys R Us, which stocks the range, describe it as:

Azir release
The Emperor of the Sands is released in patch version 4.16 along with the Galactic Azir skin. Designer:
Arise! creates a sand soldier at a target location, from which the soldier projects threat in a circle–so far, so Heimerdinger. However, soldiers require an active input. Azir must right-click and go through a basic attack animation for soldiers to do anything. This makes both Azir and his enemy understand that a conscious command was given to the soldier. This also means that if Azir is stunned or running away, soldiers cease to be a threat. All of a sudden, Azir’s opponent can comfortably aggress.
Conquering Sands orders all soldiers to charge toward a target location, damaging and slowing enemies they pass through. This forces Azir to think carefully about when and where to send soldiers. Can Azir afford to use the spell for damage and slow or (Counterplay incoming!) will this allow the enemy to engage on Azir while his soldiers are temporarily unable to move?
Moto 360 smartwatch
Motorola Moto 360 smartwatches are set to hit the market. Smartwatches so far have had rectangular faces, a shape that has turned off many consumers. This watch is circular, like other watches. The watches will use Google’s Android Wear operating system, which includes voice control features for basic functions. It has not been confirmed how many apps will be available, but at least thousands of the more than 1 million Google store programs, have been updated to support Wear. The price for the watch starts at $250.

Android Auto
Google announces Android Auto, which is a platform that integrates Android phones into the driving experience. Users can use voice commands to get directions, play music, set reminders, and call contacts while driving. The platform is expected be available at the end of 2014.
Android One
Google announces the Android One, a sub-$100 smartphone aimed at India and other developing nations. The phone will have a 4.5 inch display, dual SIM card slots, and an FM radio. Sundar Pichai, head of Google’s Android division, discusses the phone at Google’s I/O conference:
Our goal is to reach the next five billion people in the world. In India and other countries like that, it’s disappointing that less than 10 percent of the population have access to smartphones.
