US appeals to leaders

Makes Statement0 Comments

The US appeals for African leaders to desist from changing constitutions to ensure them more than two presidential terms. During a discussion on Burundi’s upcoming election, Deputy Assistant Secretary Gilmour reminds African governments that are part of the Arusha agreements of the commitments they made. This includes presidential terms limited to two years.

It is not a good idea to violate the agreed upon commitments to the Arusha-agreement. I’m calling on Burundi to proceed peacefully and we are hoping for a free and fair election.

Makes Statement0 Comments

Surrounded by family in his hospital bed Khanal says:

I had some hope but by yesterday I’d given up. My nails went all white and my lips cracked … I was sure no one was coming for me. I was certain I was going to die.

He reports he was surrounded by dead people and a terrible smell. But he kept banging on the rubble all around him and eventually this brought a French rescue team that extracted him.

There was no sound going out, or coming in. I kept banging against the rubble and finally someone responded and came to help. I hadn’t eaten or had anything to drink so I drank my own urine.

Before going to surgery he says:

It feels good. I am thankful.

Defends Israel

Interview0 Comments

Cameron defends Israel over the 2014 Gaza conflict issue in an interview with the Jewish Chronicle.

What I’ve seen is the attacks that take place on Israel and the indiscriminate nature of them. As PM, putting yourself in the shoes of the Israeli people, who want peace but have to put up with these indiscriminate attacks – that reinforces to me the importance of standing by Israel and Israel’s right to defend itself.

‘Baltimore is burning’

Makes Statement0 Comments

Clinton reacts to the Baltimore riots.

It is heartbreaking. The tragic death of another young African-American man. The injuries to police officers. The burning of peoples’ homes and small businesses. We have to restore order and security. But then we have to take a hard look as to what we need to do to reform our system.

‘Baltimore violence is about lack of morals’

Interview0 Comments

Paul reacts to the riots in Baltimore during an interview with radio host, Ingraham.

The police have to do what they have to do, and I am very sympathetic to the plight of the police in this…There are so many things [root causes] we can talk about. The breakdown of the family structure, the lack of fathers, the lack of a moral code in our society.

I’ve always met people through work and I have never been on a blind date. What’s the worst that could happen…I have my first date tonight and I’m really, really nervous. We’re going bowling, so it can’t be too expensive. I like that. I’ve never dated just a total normie.

Executes over 200 per month

Makes Statement0 Comments

SOHR says that since June last year ISIS has executed over 2,150 people in Syria alone. This number includes over 1,300 civilians and nearly 530 Syrian government troops.

We believe that the real number of people that have been killed by IS is higher than the number documented by SOHR because there are hundreds of missing and detainees inside IS jails, and because there are dozens of Kurds who are still been missing since the beginning of IS attack on the countryside of Kobani in September 16.

Charges have ranged from insulting God (blasphemy), spying for the benefit of the Nusayri [Alawite] regime, sodomy and dealing and supporting YPG [Kurdish forces].

Dave, I have to say, I am so incredibly honored to be on one of your very last shows…The first time I was on this show I was 13-years old, it was 1998 and I was so, so nervous, because for me – and still for me – coming on this show is like you’ve made it when you’re on Dave Letterman. That’s really the truth.

Mayor Blake declares a week long curfew from 10 p.m to 5 a.m in the city due to riots.

What we see tonight that is going on in our city is very disturbing. Too many people have spend generations building up this city for it to be destroyed by thugs who, in a very senseless way, are trying to tear down what so many have fought for.

Uptown interview

Latifah gives an interview to Uptown magazine. She talks about the attitude of society towards black gay women.

People’s ideas in general are antiquated when it comes to who you love. We haven’t moved as quickly as we probably should… And the reality is that there’s always been gay people in the black community, so it’s not foreign to us. And not just as a black community but just a society as a whole.
