I’d been so afraid of criticism ever since I was young. Every time I’d get a critique or some redirection, I’d always just take it very personally, but now I have no problem with it. It’s just a chance to try things a different way. To play more with a character. It also gives me a chance to have some input, to use my voice.

taylor-swift-allure-magazine-december-2010Swift appears on the cover of the December 2010 issue of Allure magazine. She talks about Justin Bieber and how she used to give bad relationship advice.

Like, the best way to get a guy to like you would be to actively ignore him. I was filled with advice! I’d tell my friends things like, Don’t accept that apology! That isn’t sincere! Or He hung out with his ex-girlfriend? Get rid of him. But love is never that simple. Now I’m finally getting the idea it’s the one thing I don’t need to have a strategy for. I can only write the material I know, which is what happens to me.

O Magazine Interview

Perry discusses the first time he portrayed the role of Madea on stage:

There was a sold-out house at the Regal Theater in Chicago, and five minutes before the show, I put on the costume and stood at the mirror for the first time. I’m saying, Damn, are you really going to do this? Then the show started and I had no choice—they pushed me out onstage. Madea had a cane and she didn’t talk very loud and her voice was much deeper and she sat in one spot the whole time. But after a while, I finally had to move. And when I moved there was laughter.

Elle Magazine interview

Interview0 Comments

Joel gives interview to Elle about what inspired her to write her single Notice Me.

I had a crush on this guy who was in my band (musician Cass Dillon), and there was a lot of tension. He was afraid to “go there” because of work, and I was getting frustrated, and that dynamic inspired Notice Me. He was my date at the premiere of my father’s movie (the documentary Last Play at Shea). I remember I was huddling in the corner of the after-party, and I just started to write it.

Harper’s Bazaar interview

Interview0 Comments

Streisand gives an interview to Harper’s Bazaar Magazine about writing her own autobiography in the future.

I think it’s almost time. These books about me are so stupid. When someone sends me one of them, if I have time, I look at the first page and I can tell whether or not the writer did his research. A minor detail tells a lot. Did he even visit the street I lived on? If he did, he wouldn’t write that I used to take the BMT into the city when it was the IRT. It’s silly, and yet all these fabricated and sloppy stories become your bio. I’m interested in the truth, and unauthorized biographies are not. Yes, I would like to correct those errors someday.

Mike and Mike interview

Interview0 Comments

Krzyzewski speaks about what motivates him to keep coaching:

I love doing it. It’s not any type of set goal. I’ve never done that, like number of wins in a season. I want to win a championship every year. That’s there, but also for me, just coaching really good players. If you’re a teacher, if you have a great student, they motivate you. I’ve got two of the best kids in the whole world who are seniors, in Kyle Singler and Nolan Smith. And they’re warriors. And then I’ve got these young guys who are trying to learn from them and learn from us. You like being around the people you’re with. It makes it easy.

Nicki Minaj interview

Interview0 Comments

Williams interviews Minaj and questions her on why her father burned their house down.

No he did. It wasn’t an attempt, he did burn the house down and my mother was in the house. She had to like you know run out at the last-minute, but she had a dream the night before that the house was gonna get burned down. So she, me and my brother were not in the house. She had us sleep at a friend’s house.

Praises Born This Way

Makes Statement0 Comments

Carter praises Born This Way:

We’re just starting to play music for the label. We’re very excited about it. We’re starting to play a little for people and getting a feel for it, and she’s done an incredible job, a really incredible job.

Carter also says he and Gaga have yet to decide on how to market the album.

Well, you know what, it’s not where I go from a business standpoint, it’s more about where she goes creatively because, truth be told, we built the business around her creative infrastructure and that business that was built is unique to Lady Gaga.

Martin talks about an upcoming game against Virginia Tech:

I don’t know if I’m enjoying just getting dropped right in the middle of a volcano here, but it is what it is. We’ve got a young team and we expected certain things to be a little differently at this time of the year, but unfortunately they’re not and it is what it is. We’re going to light up and it’s going to be a great challenge for our guys.

Harper’s Bazaar interview

Interview0 Comments

Seigner gives an interview to Harper’s Bazaar Magazine about her career and working through her husbands arrest.

I really couldn’t work. I didn’t want to do a film. When my husband was arrested, I had just finished my album, but we decided to wait until February instead of November to release it. I couldn’t have promoted it while he was in prison; that would have been obscene. This has put us in a financial situation that’s not easy.

WFAN in New York interview

Interview0 Comments

Calhoun addresses rumors that he violated NCAA rules and cheated:

Well, it is a hurtful moment. I think all of us, and you’re a very opinionated guy and so am I and we both believe what we do, we do to the best of our ability. Quite frankly, and I’m sure you’d be the same guy, every time you said something or did something it hasn’t always been right, but it’s at least always been what you thought was right at the time. … I said this from Day One, almost two years ago, that if we made mistakes, then that’s fine. We’ll get our report back in another month or so. The bottom line is we did make some mistakes, but I don’t think it’s anything hellacious and nothing that would constitute cheating.

Apologizes to Bush

In an interview with Lauer on The Today Show, West apologizes to Bush for saying he doesn’t care about black people

I would tell George Bush in my moment of frustration, I didn’t have the grounds to call him a racist. I believe that in a situation of high emotion like that we as human beings don’t always choose the right words.

Visits Indonesia

Makes Statement0 Comments

Barack-Obama-and-Michelle-006President Obama arrives in Jakarta on a brief trip to Indonesia, where he lived for four years as a child.

Obviously, much has been made of the fact that this marks my return to where I lived as a young boy. I will tell you, though, that I barely recognised it as I was driving down the streets. The only thing that was there when I first moved to Jakarta was Serena [a shopping mall]; now it’s one of the shorter buildings on the road.
