Michaels scolds the Los Angeles Times for publishing the article calling her a fraud, and plans on taking legal action if they do not retract the statements. The trainer says that she has two active certifications, one that never expires, and has developed her own continuing education program with sports medicine doctors.
They didn’t do any of their homework. They flat-out [lied]. It’s defamation, it’s libel, it’s full-on.
The newspaper publishes a correction stating the trainer’s credentials are up to date.

Graham responds to the controversy by detailing what Y Combinator does. He doesn’t directly address Angelgate but says that he ‘realized recently that a lot of people don’t understand very well’ what the firm does. He describes the funding cycles and Demo Days, and includes feedback from one founder:
Most of the practical advice is redundant, but there’s value in it even as such—if you hear the same things over and over again from different angles, especially from prominent people, it tends to sink in more.

I take exception to what Mike has said and the accusations he is throwing around. There are a lot of people working hard and to cast aspersions on what we do is… wrong. Most of these accusations might have fitted the industry 30 years ago but not today, not the last 12-24 months.
Mike is an excellent writer and he throws an awesome conference and this will boost his numbers but I will be concentrating on working 120% to help make my entrepreneurs and the companies I have invested in successful.

This was really one of the big wins ever for USA Basketball for a number of reasons. One, just to win a World Championship which we haven’t done very often, haven’t done in 16 years. Two it gets us qualified for the Olympics. The World Champion has one of the spots guaranteed in the 2012 Olympics. It makes sure we don’t have to qualify next summer so we don’t have to play next summer. It also continues us in good stead, gold standard stead by winning the Olympics and now the World Championships. This year the under 17, under 18, and under 19 teams also won gold. It’s a fantastic year for USA Basketball.

Well obviously we’ve got good depth. We’ve had some injuries at defensive tackle the last week or so Corey Adams and Toa are both going to be out for a couple weeks. They’ll be back. Of course, Lawrence Guy and Saia were extremely good there, and Bo Moos has played very well for us. We’ve got six hands that we feel we can play, so our linebacker corps has been well known…we’ve got some depth there. Probably the biggest surprise on defense for me has been our safetys and particularly our corners. We feel like with Devron Carr and Boldin we have two corners who can come up and play man coverage which allows us to do more things.
