The Hardcore Diaries

Book0 Comments

9781416556787_p0_v1_s260x420Foley publishes a third memoir The Hardcore Diaries. This book follows Foley’s creative struggles with WWE and the return of ECW as a WWE brand. Foley goes in depth on his differences with WWE owner, Vince McMahon.

I believe that anyone that likes my writing style will enjoy this one as well. The things that they loved about the first three, the sophomoric humor, the Tori Amos references, are all abundant in this one as well.

Superstar to superstar interview

Interview0 Comments

Englund talks to Kane on WWE.com’s Superstar to Superstar series about horror films, working in masks and his obsession with fire.

I love fire. Fire is hypnotic. And you’ve had this experience, too. When you’re on a sound stage and you’re shooting a fire stunt, this weird thing happens where the fire eats up all the oxygen and everybody gets a little dingy. And you know, the stuntmen, those guys know how to count, but when you’re an actor and you can set your arm on fire, you feel kind of magical. And I always forget to count. I’ve singed my eyebrows

Superstar to Superstar interview

Durance talks to Layla as part of WWE.com’s Superstar to Superstar series about acting, characters and Madonna.

She’s (Madonna) an independent woman who didn’t take crap from anyone. She went out there and did her thing. But, over the last few years, another woman who I think is unbelievable is Angelina Jolie. She doesn’t apologize for who she is. It’s take it or leave it, and she’s not going to change. I really admire that. They are both people who make their own decisions and stick to them, and I really find that attractive.

Called up to main roster

Punk is called up from developmental to join WWE’s main roster as part of the ECW brand. Heyman comments on bringing Punk to the brand:

They never wanted CM Punk to begin with. When I was in Louisville, doing WWE Developmental, they sent CM Punk down to me so I could fire him. Every week I would send memos to guys who were in charge of the Raw and SmackDown rosters saying: ‘You have a main eventer down here; someone scoop him up’ and no one would take him for a year—to the point when we launched ECW in WWE, I brought him with me because no one else on Raw and SmackDown even wanted him.

Orndorff comments on competing against Santana in the WWE:

Well, I’ve said this many, many times about Tito Santana. Probably the best matches that I have ever had with anybody were with Tito. Tito was an ex-Kansas City, drafted by the Chiefs, Tito had the same attitude that I had in the ring, same attitude. I felt the very same about him and those comments, Tito’s a school teacher now, he’s a coach, Tito’s very intelligent. Back then Tito had a smart head on him you know, Tito knew how to play the game and I just wish I could have played the game like Tito did, and also keep his honor, and Tito did that, and to his people.
