V cover

nicki-minaj-v-magazineMinaj appears on the cover of the Winter 2014/2015 issue of V magazine. She talks about taking risks, her album The Pinkprint, and on influencing women.

I love women who take control, who set standards, and who believe in themselves enough to lead the way in terms of their career. I’ve done that. When I win and when I lose, I take ownership of it, because I really am in charge of what I do. There are a lot of strong male rappers, who’ve influenced me a great deal in terms of my skill, my flow, and my business-savvy side. But at the end of the day, I still want to inspire women.

ariana-grande-december-instyle-coverGrande appears on the cover of the December 2014 issue of In Style magazine. She talks about her famous elevator f-bomb story and what she loves for her look.

Polka dots and hair bows – I can’t. Give me a skinny jean, a YSL top, and a cat ear, and we’re good.

nick-jonas-sex-important-part-healthy-lifeJonas appears on the cover of the December 2014 issue of Attitude magazine. He talks about his gay fan base, his grooming habits, and sex.

Sex is such an important part of a healthy life, in the sense that it’s such an intrinsic part of who you are. When your sex life is not healthy you resort to other things as an outlet. And in terms of the show, that’s tough to watch.

anna-kendrick-marie-claire-december-2014Kendrick appears on the cover of the December 2014 issue of Marie Claire magazine. She talks about having her looks scrutinized, her role in Into the Woods, and on taking a short break.

The character is thoughtful and complicated. You see what happens after she marries the prince, when you start to face problems in seemingly perfect situations. The interesting thing about her is she overthinks things, she’s uncertain – we don’t see that in most versions. In a lot of ways, I think it’s this incredibly brave story. She’s neglected and abused her entire life, she finally gets love and it’s not the kind of love she was looking for, and she stands up for herself.

jennifer-aniston-covers-harpers-bazaarAniston appears on the cover of the December 2014/January 2015 issue of Harper’s Bazaar magazine. She talks about her fiancé, her 40’s, and not holding grudges.

[I’m] a forgiving person.I absolutely am. I think it’s extremely important to forgive. Otherwise it just builds up like toxic waste. There’s nothing worse than holding a grudge. Listen, people can do unforgivable things, but you have to let it go and say, ‘Look, we’re all human beings. We make mistakes.’ To hold any kind of resentment is like taking rat poison and waiting for the rat to die.

liv-tyler-covers-town-country-december-2014Tyler appears on the cover of the December 2014/January 2015 issue of Town & Country magazine. She talks about being pregnant, her year, and The Leftovers.

When I heard the premise, I thought, ‘That’s right up my street.’ I’m attracted to things that are a little off. Growing up I was a huge fan of The Twilight Zone, Twin Peaks, and Creepshow – things that don’t provide all the answers. Normally I’d say I’m not a competitive person; I kind of think things happen for a reason. But for the first time in my life I really went for a role.

allison-williams-covers-allure-december-2014Williams appears on the cover of the December 2014 issue of Allure magazine. She talks about the similarities between her and Marnie, her body image, the most offensive thing anyone has said to her.

I cut off my hair twice. It was in high school, and a boy that I had a crush on said, ‘You’ve lost your aura.’ It was, to this day, the most offensive thing anyone’s ever said to me. And it was before extensions were everywhere, and I just had to muscle through it.

idina-menzel-redbook-december-january-issueMenzel appears on the cover of the December 2014/January 2015 issue of Redbook magazine. She talks about dating after her divorce and being a single working mom.

The guilt is the thing that we as women all feel, whether we stay at home or we work. There are a lot of double standards with the way the men in our lives see how we make those choices. I think there’s an accounting for how much time I spend with my son, and men don’t have to account for how much time they spend with their child. It hurts to feel that’s a judgment being made. Because we’re already judging ourselves.

julianne-hough-like-to-shock-shape-bodyHough appears on the cover December 2014 issue of Shape magazine. She talks about workout routines and acting.

If I’m reading for a part, I’ll transform myself into the character. I love the whole process and always tell my agents: ‘Put me in the room—I’ll audition for anything.’ Thats my motto.

hilary-duff-health-magazineDuff appears on the cover of the December 2014 issue of Health magazine. She talks about being too skinny as a teenager, still loving her ex, and losing her baby weight.

I lost my baby weight from boxing, and I have this awesome trainer, Gabe. I was already there, but I definitely shed, like, 10 more pounds from doing two-a-days for two or three weeks, an hour each session=. I live in a cul-de-sac, but I have a big hill, so I would run the hill, then box in my cul-de-sac.

[You] can be the most beautiful woman in the world and see yourself as hideous. You must love yourself. To look in the mirror and tell yourself that you’re a rock star, you know?

Esquire-Rihanna-cover-january-2014-bodycopyRihanna appears on the cover of the December issue of Esquire. She discusses how she reinvented mac and cheese into a dish she calls “Mac A Rih” for the food and drink special issue.

This was discovered by accident due to our gas running out halfway through making the original dish. I fell in love with the taste and texture, so I’ve been making it to perfection ever since.

Swank, Moore, Dern, Arquette, Witherspoon, Adams, and Jones appear on the cover of a November 2014 issue of The Hollywood Reporter magazine. They talk about their bravest moments as an actress and if their children became actors. Witherspoon:

It’s a wonderful business. I feel like I’ve seen the world. I’ve met amazing people. I used to have all these regrets; I didn’t finish college. And about a year ago it was like, “Why would I regret not finishing college?” I’ve had a wonderful life and I’ve been everywhere and I’ve gotten to work with creative people and tell stories. That’s all I ever wanted to do. So if [my kids] wanted to do it, I’d be very encouraging. I do think it’s hard. I would definitely illuminate all the difficulties. But my kids don’t seem to gravitate toward it anyway. So we’ll see.

Michael Sam GQ cover imageSam appears on one of six GQ Men of the Year issue covers. Sam discusses his relationship with his family.

Only a handful of people really know how I was raised. Certain family members weren’t…there. They were ghosts. My brothers were the ones who were there. Most of the time, that was scary. I tried to stay away as much as possible. We called the cops on my brothers so many times I can’t even count. Not only for hurting me. They’d abuse my sisters. Verbally abuse my mom. My brothers were evil people. I don’t have a relationship with them now. They’ve both written me letters from prison. For them to dare to call themselves my brothers—I can’t live with that.

benedictCumberbatch appears on the cover of Time magazine’s annual “genius” issue as Nazi code breaker, Alan Turing, who he portrays in The Imitation Game. Cumberbatch discusses his admiration of Turing.

This man’s achievements are extraordinary. Everything that’s been thrown at computers—all of it has only managed to work because of his idea of creating something universal in the first place.
