Elle Magazine interview

Interview0 Comments

Elle Magazine interviews Ludacris about what he hopes to teach is 13-year-old daughter about life.

Independence. Striving for excellence. Her schedule is damn near busier than mine. She’ll have piano one day and acting another day and dance another day. The number-one thing I try to get across is we’re in a digital age where it’s cool to be on your iPhone all the time. So all of those activities I mentioned are about getting her away from that. People are on video games and their phones, and it’s taking up all their mental space.

Talk of reformation in Islam has been underway for a while, Yes, there is a great deal of violence in the name of Islam, but there is a emerging and incredibly imporat minority of reformers who are risking their lives to get this change done. And I stand with them. I hope you stand with them.

Accuses Obama

Accusation0 Comments

Zimmerman appears in a video accusing Obama of breaking the law when he tasked the Department of Justice to pursue him:

For him to make incendiary comments, as he did, and direct the Department of Justice to pursue a baseless prosecution he, by far, overstretched, overreached, even broke the law in certain aspects, to where you have an innocent American being prosecuted by the federal government, which should never happen…He held a ceremony at the White House, inviting the Martin-Fulton Family, and stating that they should take the day to reflect upon the fact that all children’s lives matter. Unfortunately for the President, I am also my parents’ child and my life matters as well…The President should have done what he said he was going to do and not interject himself in a local law enforcement matter, or a state matter, and waited until the facts came out. Instead rushing to judgment and making racially charged comments and pitting American against American…He should have taken the high road, given his position, and been an example, been a leader as the President should be and say, ‘let’s not rush to judgment,’ as I’m sure he would want that same luxury afforded to him if he was accused of something.

‘Greece is going down the drain’

Interview0 Comments

In an interview with Bloomberg Television, Soros discusses Greece’s tenuous financial situation. He says the chances are 50-50 that Greece leaves the Euro.

It’s now a lose-lose game and the best that can happen is actually muddling through. Greece is a long-festering problem that was mishandled from the beginning by all parties…You can keep on pushing it back indefinitely [making interest payments without writing down debt]. But in the meantime there will be no primary surplus because Greece is going down the drain.

Doesn’t like spellcheck

Makes Statement0 Comments

At the red carpet premiere of Season 5 of Game of Thrones, Martin says he will continue to use Wordstar 4.0, the 1980s-era word processor, saying he doesn’t need spellcheck features of modern word processors:

Until they come up with something better, which they haven’t…Don’t help me. I’ve been writing for a long time…And don’t change my spelling….I don’t need things underlined in red, like ‘Targaryen. I know how to spell ‘Targaryen.’ Don’t tell me it’s misspelled.

‘Computers are going to take over from humans, no question.’

Interview0 Comments

In an interview with The Australian Financial Review, Wozniak discusses a wide range of technology issues. He says he hopes Apple will get into the automotive industry and compete with Tesla.

There are an awful lot of companies right now who are playing with electric cars and there’s a lot more playing with self-driving cars, this is the future and it might be huge … there are so many openings here and it is perfect territory for a company like Apple…it seems like they might be hiring a lot of people who could really build a vehicle.

He goes on to talk about his growing unease with the increasing sophistication of artificial intelligence. He says he has come to realize that the warnings of writers about machine intelligence outstripping human understanding or capability within the next thirty years were coming true. Computing that either mimicked or attained human consciousness could become a reality.

Computers are going to take over from humans, no question…I agree that the future is scary and very bad for people. If we build these devices to take care of everything for us, eventually they’ll think faster than us and they’ll get rid of the slow humans to run companies more efficiently….Will we be the gods? Will we be the family pets? Or will we be ants that get stepped on? I don’t know about that … But when I got that thinking in my head about if I’m going to be treated in the future as a pet to these smart machines … well I’m going to treat my own pet dog really nice.

Apologizes

Netanyahu apologizes to Israel’s Arabic citizens for remarks which offended members of the community.

I know that my comments last week offended some Israeli citizens and offended members of the Israeli-Arab community. This was never my intent. I apologize for this.

‘We don’t play hard all the time. And that’s a problem.’

Press Conference0 Comments

After the Mavericks’ loss to the Phoenix Suns, Carlisle rips into his team. He said the team didn’t show up in the first half of the game and that was flat-out embarrassing. The Mavs are 8-8 since the All-Star break. Seven of those losses have been decided by ten or more points.

This is a Dallas Mavericks hard-play problem, all right? We don’t play hard all the time. And that’s a problem…It’s pretty clear that’s where our inconsistency is, and we’ve got to get better. We’ve got to be a more together team. I believe that we can do it. We did it in the second half, but it’s work. It takes effort. It takes effort in the locker room, it takes sacrifice, and we’ve got to be willing to do those things.

Children certainly teach one about compromise. I think before having children the idea of compromise rubbed shoulders with weakness or deception in some way.

Accuses Obama of Israel election tampering

Interview0 Comments

In an interview with AM 970 on The Cats Roundtable, McLaughlin says that President Obama’s role during the Israeli elections was bigger than has been reported. He noted that the effort to oust Netanyahu was led by a former Obama political operative and that V15 is linked to the Washington-based nonprofit OneVoice Movement, which reportedly received $350,000 in State Department grants.

What was not well reported in the American media is that President Obama and his allies were playing in the election to defeat Prime Minister Netanyahu…There was money moving that included taxpayer U.S. dollars, through non-profit organizations. And there were various liberal groups in the United States that were raising millions to fund a campaign called V15 against Prime Minister Netanyahu.

The State Department people in the end of January, early February, expedited visas for [Israeli] Arab leaders to come to the United States to learn how to vote…There were people in the United States that were organizing them to vote in one party so they would help the left-of-center candidate, Herzog, that the Obama administration favored.

Ends ‘Race Together’

Makes Statement0 Comments

Starbucks ends the “Race Together” aspect of its broader campaign on race, meaning that baristas will no longer be writing “Race Together” on customers’ cups. Baristas complained that they barely had enough time to complete orders and that they were never even trained about the campaign before it launched. Starbucks is still going ahead with other parts of the initiative, including forums to discuss race and the hiring of 10,000 employees from diverse backgrounds to staff new stores in poor, urban areas. Schultz:

While there has been criticism of the initiative — and I know this hasn’t been easy for any of you — let me assure you that we didn’t expect universal praise…The promise of the American Dream should be available to every person in this country, not just a select few.

Claims he would have defeated Obama

Interview0 Comments

Santorum gives an interview to Time about how he would have defeated Obama in 2012 had he won the GOP nomination, and the themes of his 2016 presidential run.

I would have been able to attract the voters in the states that mattered. Romney would probably do better than me in New Jersey and California and New York. But I’d do better in Michigan, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, Virginia—in the states that were going to decide the election. Look at how we did in Ohio in the primary. We got outspent by huge amounts. I didn’t run a single ad in the Cleveland market, and we still almost beat him in Ohio.

On Air interview

Interview0 Comments

Seacrest interviews Perry during On Air With Ryan Seacrest about The Prismatic World Tour world television premier.

The Prismatic World Tour is crazy and it’s not a joke. We did 127 shows. I’m very tired, obviously, but still standing, still kicking, and I feel about 56 years-old right now. Well everybody should tune in because I got to film this amazing show. And I’m very proud of it, and it’s an amazing show full of a lot of the songs people are familiar with, because I always know that it’s always very important when going to tour is to sing the songs that people have made memories to. I created like seven different worlds. There’s so many different costumes and things to look at and wonderful remixes.
